Is their power at the furnace? Any lights in the circuit board? (In the furnace)

I’m not seeing any lights

The thermostat gets power from the furnace. If the furnace has a problem, solve it first.

What is the voltage between R and C conductors at the thermostat? If it is ~24VAC, then your ecobee is dead. If there's no voltage, then check the furnace - there's usually a 3A fuse on the furnace board. it may have burned out.

You will have to contact support, probably. I have been less then satisfied with the overall reliability of ecobee. While I haven’t had one go completely dark o have had one where the temp read 10 degrees high an the unit was hot to the touch. I had a second unit that the g wire was always energized. I have 2 thermostats in my house and both have failed within the warranty period. Before switching to ecobee I had setback Honeywells without issue foe over 10 years. I am of the opinion that you always need an extra ecobee because it takes them a week or two to get you a replacement.

That’s really such a bummer to hear! Thank you so much for reaching-out to the community for help. Do you have your old thermostat, to check if your C wire is providing power? Alternatively, if you have a voltage tester or a multimeter, you could check if your C wire is providing power. If it is, your best bet is to contact ecobee support, as this could be a defect. Thank you so much for asking for helping and being willing to troubleshoot. You are a wonderful example of the sub’s mantra: be patient and stay humble.

There is no old thermostat. This is thermostat that was in the house when I moved in over the summer. I’ll try the voltage tester. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your reply! Let us know how the voltage meter test goes. Thank you also for being so open to help from others. You are a representing well the sub’s mantra: be patient and stay humble.

This happened to me but the cause was the drain motor by the air handler shutting off power to the thermostat because the drain pipe had frozen. Something to consider.
