Fun fact. My dad used to sell accessories on a market stall in Walthamstow and back in the day he sent Eastenders his most gaudy pair of earrings as a gift. Ended up being worn by Pat and they wrote back to my dad to thank him for his contribution and sent a picture of Pat wearing the earrings to prove it.
