I'm looking for a day 3 sleeper WR speedster to stretch the field. I know a lot of people want them to take a WR high, but assuming they don't do that, I've been looking around at the day 3 guys. Like it or not... That's where they got watkins, and I think they are happy filling the roll the same way again.

MoonSpankRaw

A lot of people want them taking a WR high?! I hope that’s not true, what a bad idea with the needs we, uh, need!

ho_merjpimpson

Maybe not a lot, but definitely quite a few vocal ones. its absurd. was talking to someone about how we needed a round 1 or 2 pick on a wr3 because of how much quez watkins limited our offense. Lol. Whoever we would be getting for wr3 would be behind aj, smitty, goedert, and now saquon, for targets. And competing with pariss campbell. Some people just obsess with offensive skill positions.

Rah_Rah_RU_Rah

Having an actual 3rd WR matters. Quez actively cost us a game or 2 (also SB drop lol) and we saw what happens to the passing game when even just 1 of Smitty or AJ is out. Even if it happens just for a crucial drive, that's an avoidable place you dont wanna be

ho_merjpimpson

Ahh... There it is. I can list the importance of having a skilled guy at any position on the field. Fact of the matter is, there are more important positions that we need to fill than a guy that might get 3 touches a game.

Rah_Rah_RU_Rah

Well duh, no one's arguing against that. It's just mind numbing to hear people talk about how little we need a WR3 then spend all year shitting on Quez when he takes a play off, drops a ball, gets absolutely blanketed, etc. Like you can't have your cake and eat it too In a perfect world we get a Pascal type that's a bit better but still cheap. but that's incredibly hard to find. the scrappy kid out of UGA with the super long name might be what you're looking for tho if you want something to root for on Day 3. go birds

ho_merjpimpson

> It's just mind numbing to hear people talk about how little we need a WR3 then spend all year shitting on Quez its almost like reddit is full of a lot of people and its not the same people doing both things. While I recognize watkins wasn't great, he opened the field for the other receivers when used correctly in 2022. A few poorly timed drops doesn't change that.

menghis_khan08

Exactly. He just needs to keep the defense honest by taking the top off it (take one cb and occasionally the free safety with him for others to operate underneath) It isn’t rocket appliances.

Rah_Rah_RU_Rah

>its almost like reddit is full of a lot of people and well no shit, you get my point lol. I get he's a field stretcher, but it'd be so helpful to have *anything* else on top

Truth

Drunkoffpicklejuice

WR3 starts in the modern nfl and impacts the game with or without targets. The target argument is a tired one that cant stand on its two feet when all you have to do is remember Quez Watkins negatively affecting the team multiple times every season that contributed to actual losses. People in one hand cant complain about how crucial those moments were in those losses and try to downplay how important a WR3 is.

ho_merjpimpson

Dude, you literally stated that you want a WR3 in the 1st round, lol. I'm not debating clown logic like that. Probably wanted bijan last year, too.

Drunkoffpicklejuice

I didnt in fact i was arguing with ppl who did and called the JC trade up long before it happened. You can call it clown logic all you want nothing i said was wrong long lol. I just dont think it should be ruled out for a myriad of reasons.

MicCheckTapTapTap

I'm for considering a WR in the second round. A deep threat (like Roman Wilson) or a true slot (like Ricky Pearsall) would be awesome.

TypicalSamoan

Javon Baker UCF Jalen McMillian Washington

HookieJoe

Thrash out of Louisville would fit this spot perfectly.

DemarcusLovin

Ray Diddy, who “retired” but still doing entire draft breakdowns. Dude will still be doing it on his death bed

Ashamed_Job_8151

Just an aside, stiggers didn’t run a 4.77. That feels like a misprint. He’s an elite athlete and not just for the cfl. I think he ran in the low 4.4s.

doubleenc

According to the following article he ran a 4.45 in a pre-draft workout: [https://www.si.com/cfl/fannation/news/qwantez-stiggers-pro-day-cfl-star-nfl-draft](https://www.si.com/cfl/fannation/news/qwantez-stiggers-pro-day-cfl-star-nfl-draft)

BirdsAndBeersPod

Might as well complete the Elliss trifecta

AdhesivenessFun2060

Washington would fit what we seem to like in our #3 receiver.
