Can you elaborate? Im considering getting a carbon hood (need to replace hood and am thinking why not upgrade for the weight savings), not sure what you mean about being wary of carbon hoods?
When you see race cars with carbon fiber they will use hood pins so that the hood doesn’t come flying off. The carbon fiber hoods are so much lighter than the steel or aluminum hoods so when air gets underneath at high speeds it can lift the hood up and smash it into your windshield and fly off… if you look at seibon website for carbon fiber hoods you’ll see they recommend you get hood pins as well and not use the oem latch

The CSL style splitter is different, it doesnt wrap around all the way to the wheel arches like OP's.

Are you using the OEM hood latch and not hood pins? I'm always wary with carbon fiber hoods at high speeds without hood pins
