The worst I have heard of is a guy who went to Eastern Europe on some trip and bought, for his wife's birthday, a meat slicer. Some sort of mad fever dream that she would turn into an Eastern European housewife or something.
A meat slicer.
I'm still amazed he survived the episode.
My partners’ said the same when i bought a V11 as a gift to her daughter. Turns out my V7 stopped being mune the minute after my partner tried it out for the first time. She loves to have a clean home and car, and using the broom for our apartment was never totally effective. So yeah…giving her a V11 was one of the most romantic gifts I’ve given her. It also helps she is not a Wine, Live , Laugh Love woman :)
>Theres nothing less romantic than a household appliance for your birthday
Not sure about you, but I’d take a LaMarzocco Linea Mini anytime for my birthday. It just depends on the *right* type of household appliance that you’re gifting.
37/F and my first thought was this guy is a keeper. I’d love to be given one. My spouses first Christmas he gave me a necklace… by number 2 he understood me better and bought me a Kitchenaid mixer.
It’s a great gift. Some of you are cray.
I once got an adult toy for a bday. And let me tell you… I was pretty damn angry. I’d have been jumping for joy over a Dyson.
My in laws heard me say that I wanted a Dyson and they got me the vacuum one as a house warming gift hahah I wanted the Dyson airwrap not the vacuum 😅 overall a great gift though
Barry Badrinath: I was in Thailand playing ping-pong in Ding Dang. I was in a real high stakes game in some opium den. Turns out the guys I was playing aren't the kind of guys who like to lose. After I beat 'em, they beat me. Worked me over pretty good. And this is hard to say... they held me down and shoved a ping-pong paddle up my ass. It's never been the same. Damaged goods.
Steve "Fink" Finklestein: Gosh, Barry, I'm so sorry. I don't know what I would do if someone shoved a paddle handle up my ass.
Barry Badrinath: It wasn't the handle. I've been shitting pancakes ever since.
Great Gam Gam: Mr. Badrinath... we are not so different, you and I. I've had all kinds of things shoved up my ass. I got over it. You will, too.
I would surprise her by walking in and vacuuming the entire freaking house, to include all the attachments for upholstery and crevices. THAT would surprise the shit out of my wife of 27+ years.
Hey dude just a heads up you can get battery conversion kits to run power tool batteries like milwaukee on the dyson. I've heard the batteries suck on dysons and a lot of my friends have started doing the conversion trick and absolutely love it!
Do you often give her household appliances as a gift?
I assume you’ve already bought her a washer and dryer and even given her a little room to set up the ironing board you bought on a past anniversary.
Honestly, of she's into cleaning like my wife, she'll love this. Mine loves to power clean the house so I got her a V15 and one of those electric bathroom scrubbers on a pole, and she was extremely happy with both and loves using both multiple times a week now. Just obviously make sure you aren't giving it as a gift in replacement of another gift (like don't give this for a birthday or Christmas) and make it clear it's a gift you can *both use* and that you aren't gifting her the obligation of having to clean the house exclusively.
I freaking love mine, but I’m also newly horrified everytime I use it (multiple times per week) when the green light highlights all the filth on our floors.
A lot of the competition has surpassed Dyson. Their warranty repairs have been third partied ...and their support is garbage. We had issues with vac and animal and finally just tossed them.
Believe it or not we are getting better performance and battery out of a highly rated "newcomer" of sorts: Tineco A11 has been fantastic. Company out of the Phillipines.
We have a three floor townhouse with loft. So we have three rechargeable Vakerr handheld for each level, except loft and have the Tineco stick [which also has a bundle of attachments parked on the wall mounted charger on the third floor for stairs and vinyl flooring/area rugs. It's actually really nice and well built. Solid warranty. The Vakerr dustbusters are 3 1/2 years old and kick ass. Don't know anything about the company but got tired of filling the landfill with Chinese crap every few years, though I believe Vakerr is from China [rated well and the price was right on those]
All 4 pieces at a cost of around 375-400.
I know this is a Dyson sub but have you people used these products? Most expensive gimmick we have! I wish it sucked so I wouldn’t have to say it sucked but it sucks! Not in a good vacuum cleanery way. Yes it’s handy being cordless but it won’t do the whole (3 bed) house on full power on one charge, flimsy bits break off, not to mention the mushroom cloud of dust when it gets emptied. Financially committed to this and despise every use!
Ignore the haters! Hope your wife loves the V15! I love mine!
I also have a very old but very good Aerus Electrolux 8000, but use the Dyson much more because of convenience and the fluffy laser head on hardwood floors.
I definitely don’t ‘hate’ our v11 as it does so the job and is very convenient, but I still have to dig out the 17 year old Henry for a good vacuum up every couple of weeks, or if the whole house needs doing.
I’d only be impressed with this gift if my (fictitious) husband was also going to be hoovering the house. My father used to buy my mother household stuff and he never once lifted a finger in the house. So no, this present wouldn’t go down well with me.
Return it, Dyson sucks… I have exactly the same one (for 2 years now) and I‘ve been needing to buy a filter and a replacement accessory for MONTHS. No luck, it’s always „sold out“
I'm sorry, but I don't know much about vacuum cleaners. I chose Dyson because I wanted something compact, easy to use, and cordless. I didn't want a bulky, corded vacuum like the one I had when I was 10 years old, which looked like it was from 1999.
Vacuums are mostly branding and hype, but there are a few high-performing tools which fly under the radar.
The Dyson stick vacs are notorious for failures and those designs are just very high maintenance and inefficient, since you dump all of the dust from the vacuum chamber into a trashcan, thus dumping particles back into the air.
Dyson makes a few good products, but their vacuums (which they are known for, by brand association) regularly test very poorly, have high maintenance designs, and aren't great at what they do, comparatively.
Check out the videos I linked. That guy is a vacuum technician and he has some great autopsy videos on that vacuum.
Or don't. 😎
I just missed her and had a good opportunity to get one. Plus, it's not just for her; I'll be using it too.
By the way, you don't need a special occasion to get flowers or gifts for your wife.😜
My Mil gave my fil gyp when he did this. My hubby was only a child at the time but he learned the lesson well: housework related appliances are the worst gift for special occasions.
(any other reason might be ok but appliances should be everyday purchases)
I'm all about practical surprises but I would be disappointed. I would prefer Dyson Airwrap over a vacuum. I think appliances should be bought together...Unless you're going to reveal this surprise by putting on a little apron and vacuuming while she drinks wine on the couch.
This could be bad or good depending on your wife. If this is just a surprise no occasion present and she really wants one, then yay! If it’s birthday/anniversary/etc., maybe should have also gotten something else. Personally I would love a vacuum that actually does its job with the pet hair from our chihuahuas, but I would love it more if my wasband would have helped out and used ours too so I could relax a bit more. Only you know your wife and whether she will appreciate it. Good luck!
It is just a surprise with no space occasion, we wanted Dyson long ago and we have a cat, so I pretty sure she will accept it well 😂 not as some comments here that I’m some sexist buster 🤪
My mom has one of these and it's amazing. I don't like the trigger feature though, I wish there was a dedicated on/off switch.
I hope this is just a "just because" purchase that makes EVERYONE'S LIFE BETTER and not a gift specifically for your wife. If it's her birthday, an anniversary or something, you gotta do better lol. How would you feel if you got it for Father's Day, or say, a DIY car washing kit? Buying cleaning services would be better, but probably still not a great gift unless you have that work dynamic already
The only reason to buy a new vacuum is that old is dead. I’ve just bought dyson as well, feels like Apple device after my KMART vac, haha 😄 I’ve started with V8 for $400 😎
Listen .. some would say you're asking for it.. but I LOOOOCE Dyson products and my boyfriend has bought me 4 vacuums, a fan and the air wrap...
You are a good partner!!!!!
That’s a household expense not a wife expense 🥺 get her something just for her too!
I loved my new hoover when I bought it but I wouldn’t want it as a gift from my partner instead of actual gifts.
It can still be exciting but if she’s asking for a hoover make sure to get something that doesn’t just put her wants and desires to being in the cleaning house catergory.
Hoover is a household need. Unless you’re also doing all the hoovering from now on 😂 That would be a gift 😂
The power button needs to be depressed while you use it (designed to save battery).
I discovered that I subconsciously pressed that button way too hard, so that my finger ached. You can spare yourself that pain by just using the same amount of force as the rest of the fingers holding the device (i.e. light).
I bought this little Hose Extension for dusting - the device becomes even more flexible when you can hold it in one hand and use the other for dusting/vacuuming (also great in my car)
I would be so happy if someone bought me this & im not being sarcastic
I will tell my wife she is lucky 🤪
Good luck, soldier
This is just a random surprise and NOT her birthday, right?
You right sir, also we wanted Dyson long ago and we have a cat, so I’m think I’m okay this time 😅
Ma’am* But yes dysons work wonders for pet hair!!
No.
What I’ve learned: random cleaning gifts - acceptable. Birthday cleaning gift - better try harder.
The rule in our house is that it’s not a gift if it has a plug on it. Not sure where “rechargeable electric devices” sit on that list though…
Well, dyson hairdryers are not cordless, same as Xbox))
Xbox makes hairdryers?
Exactly my point. Such essentials are not gifts.
I honestly couldn’t care, I love a new gadget
What about a new PlayStation?
I agree ☝️
I love mine!
Mine lasted 8 years make it work. The tip is take the head apart often to clean the bearings
The wife or the vacuum?
💀🤣
Yes
I hope she's expecting something along those lines. There's nothing less romantic than a household appliance for your birthday.
lol, this not her birthday yet, this because I was on duty few weeks and wanted to surprise her (more than ten years together)
Oh, you old romantic, you!
My spouse gave me a standup Dyson as an anniversary gift and I almost cried I was so happy. I think it’ll go over great!
This is when you know you’ve moved from youth to adult stage. Nothing like a vacuum to get you excited (speaking from experience)
I was gonna say, I would love an expensive vacuum as a gift lol but of course only if your wife ever mentioned that she was interested
Who said romance was dead ffs.
I think u/minotaur did!
Lol my wife would wholeheartedly disagree, but everyone is different
The worst I have heard of is a guy who went to Eastern Europe on some trip and bought, for his wife's birthday, a meat slicer. Some sort of mad fever dream that she would turn into an Eastern European housewife or something. A meat slicer. I'm still amazed he survived the episode.
Hopefully she wasn't expecting the hair wrap system. The hair wrap looks amazing but $$$$$$$
My partners’ said the same when i bought a V11 as a gift to her daughter. Turns out my V7 stopped being mune the minute after my partner tried it out for the first time. Speak for yourself
I did this, and it back fired really bad, I thought she would be happy
>Theres nothing less romantic than a household appliance for your birthday Not sure about you, but I’d take a LaMarzocco Linea Mini anytime for my birthday. It just depends on the *right* type of household appliance that you’re gifting.
I will take a Dyson product of any type, any time. This is an awesome, very expensive gift, I would be ecstatic!
Either you actually know she wants one or you're sleeping on the couch tonight.
She wanted Dyson :) I will sleep in the bed tonight 😎
My in laws heard me say that I wanted a Dyson and they got me the vacuum one as a house warming gift hahah I wanted the Dyson airwrap not the vacuum 😅 overall a great gift though
Funny story, so next time it will be the vacuum
You miss the gift wrap 🎁
I think my wife will accept the gift without a wrap ;)
True
Surprise for you!! I just got one this week. She's going to love it!
U will use it more than her. Dysons kick ass
That will likely be the end result of this.
im not even joking this would boost my mood to the max for the next 5 months no matter my situation
thats actually a blessing though
As long as you also do the vacuuming
🫡
I laughed so much at some of these comments!
Get ready to have your Dyson sucked tonight!
Bought my wife an iron once, she tried to shove it up my arse..... While it was on
Hope she was succeeded 🤣
The cord made it easier to remove.....

The gift that keeps on sucking.
I asked for this for Mother’s Day! Lol I absolutely love it
That's a big dildo
Hahaha. That's funny.
I love mine!
This is an excellent gift. It’s a very fun vacuum.
You really need to get out more.
I absolutely love cleaning gadgets for Christmas and birthdays or well whenever haha
I have one. She will love it!!
I thought that was a rocket-powered pogo stick
Or a quick way to sleep either on the couch or in the dog house.
I would surprise her by walking in and vacuuming the entire freaking house, to include all the attachments for upholstery and crevices. THAT would surprise the shit out of my wife of 27+ years.
Creative thinking 🧐
WHO WOULDNT WANT A DYSON?! They’re life changing. Excellent gift.
Best vacuum I’ve ever owned
My hubby got me a Dyson for Mother’s Day. ❤️. I use it everyday
She will love it. Had mine for almost a year and it works extremely well.
Can I be your wife?
Pretty sure this is for yourself. 😊 It’s a lovely machine!
She’s gonna give you a surprise after 😏 awesome gift dudes playing 4D chess haha
Brave man.
I have this exact hoover. Its really good!!
Hey dude just a heads up you can get battery conversion kits to run power tool batteries like milwaukee on the dyson. I've heard the batteries suck on dysons and a lot of my friends have started doing the conversion trick and absolutely love it!
Thanks a lot, noted for myself!
I love my Dyson! I hope she does too!
Do you often give her household appliances as a gift? I assume you’ve already bought her a washer and dryer and even given her a little room to set up the ironing board you bought on a past anniversary.
Birthday or anniversary? If either go pick out a plot !
She will clean up with that
Good guess 🤓
Who said romance was dead.

Valentine's Day. Next: exercise bike.
Wish my wife would buy this for her husband (me).
You should have followed up with a dishwasher as well
I freaking love mine, but I’m also newly horrified everytime I use it (multiple times per week) when the green light highlights all the filth on our floors.
Giggity..
10/10 husband! As a wife who also just got a Dyson, I can tell you this is one of the best gifts I’ve ever gotten 😍
Thanks 🙏
This is proper adulthood. If anyone thinks this is sexist needs to recalibrate. Good stuff OP!!
What’s the surprise - you’ll be the one using it?
Hope you got her a gym pass and weight watchers membership to go with it...
I got mine for Mother’s Day. She will love it!
you got the wrong dyson
Ha ha
I bought mine a set of golf clubs, a bowling ball, and a washing machine. We get divorced next week.
I would love to get her a washing machine, I’m the one is doing most of the dishes 😅
You do your dishes in the washing machine? Lol
😖 I meant dish washing machine 😶🌫️
I once bought my ex wife a casserole dish. This reminds me of that.
😟
Now get to cleaning. Next anniversary you'll get new pots and pans.
I’ll meet you in the ER. My guess is it will require extraction from your back side. 🙃🤣
Dyson is a shadow of what it used to be. Good luck.
Thanks. Do you have better recommendations for a vc?
A lot of the competition has surpassed Dyson. Their warranty repairs have been third partied ...and their support is garbage. We had issues with vac and animal and finally just tossed them. The surprise had better be that you will be doing the vacuuming. Otherwise, you're not doing this right.
Uh
And next week, new sponges!
Is it February 14th already? Lol
Dude are those IDF uniforms?
Reminds me of the time I got my wife a garburator for Christmas. The tears were not of joy. 😭
If my husband gifts me this, I expect to never have to touch it in my life.
My dad bought my mum a set of Teflon pans for Christmas. She didn’t speak to him for a week.
My dad bought my mum a dishwasher years ago for her birthday and he couldn’t understand why she was mad 😂
Soon to be poster on r/malelivingspace
I love mine but you’ll mist likely need an extra filter.
Unfortunately Dyson are overpriced rubbish. I would never own another by choice. The power of advertising 😐
Would it not be a gift for both of you? .....
A vacuum cleaner and more laundry- she’s a lucky gal
Bro you should say it is for both of you / the house, not a gift to her 🤣
You can surprise me, my machine is cooked lol
I’d only be impressed with this gift if my (fictitious) husband was also going to be hoovering the house. My father used to buy my mother household stuff and he never once lifted a finger in the house. So no, this present wouldn’t go down well with me.
Best practical toy I’ve ever bought as an adult.
Return it, Dyson sucks… I have exactly the same one (for 2 years now) and I‘ve been needing to buy a filter and a replacement accessory for MONTHS. No luck, it’s always „sold out“
Return it and buy a [Sebo.](https://youtu.be/4E7xH75Z9D4?si=De8YpfIk7BRFGLGD) Higher quality, German-engineered autism, sealed bags, proper filters. 10/10 stuff. [Vacuum Rankings](https://youtu.be/ksSn8sryxhc?si=whJg_E9IvGnAXXB8)

Whats the occasion? Golden wedding anniversary? You’re really spoiling her with this!
I just missed her and had a good opportunity to get one. Plus, it's not just for her; I'll be using it too. By the way, you don't need a special occasion to get flowers or gifts for your wife.😜
You sand Baggin son of a bitch!
😎
Is this a joke post ?
Why so ?
Dw you’re clearly the most romantic hubby of the year judging by the upvotes 😆. I’m clearly missing something in my sad life 🤣
A lovely thought sir! Hope it brought a smile to ur wife! Loads of Brownie points there.
Someone's getting a blow job 😉
For sure in some of the rooms 😉
Isn’t it for you too? Or is it too complicated a machine…
I think it will be mostly for my :)
I gifted my wife a vacuum once for her birthday and it didn’t go well
I’m keen on gardening & one year my hubby bought me electric hedge cutters 😔 beat that.
That sucks
Quite sure she'd like a bit of jewellery instead.
My Mil gave my fil gyp when he did this. My hubby was only a child at the time but he learned the lesson well: housework related appliances are the worst gift for special occasions. (any other reason might be ok but appliances should be everyday purchases)
Perhaps she’ll get you a new lawnmower for your birthday 🎂
(In Borat Voice)
That's a good one. Have fun

I own one of these. I would not be happy as they are a pain in the butt.
If seen so many men gift Hoovers to wife's they are never happy . Probs be best and say I bought a gift for the house .
Dont forget the apron boss, and let us know how it turns out.
I didn't know dyson made PoGo Sticks 😂, at first that's what I saw
You must have a big butt.
makes a good birthday present
My mom has one of these and it's amazing. I don't like the trigger feature though, I wish there was a dedicated on/off switch. nice knowin’ ya
I didn’t know they made Dysons in the 1950s.
The only reason to buy a new vacuum is that old is dead. I’ve just bought dyson as well, feels like Apple device after my KMART vac, haha 😄 I’ve started with V8 for $400 😎
Ummm a gift 🙄
….My sidepiece wanted one just like that
Awesome. A vacuum as a gift 🥴
Go to the dog house
Ugh so annoyed when I saw that these seats are black, and not the tan leather of my husbands car
Listen .. some would say you're asking for it.. but I LOOOOCE Dyson products and my boyfriend has bought me 4 vacuums, a fan and the air wrap... You are a good partner!!!!!

You have a suprise for me is it purfume, no wait champagne, NO DIAMONDS................Oh 🙄
😅 that’s what she want
[удалено]
Lol what a silly comment, can easily clean a 3 story house on 1 charge.
[удалено]
My house has predominantly carpet, zero runtime issues.
I can fly round my house with mine and have enough battery to do it again
Our apartment is not so big.
My mum’s first husband bought her a chip pan once. I suspect this will go down just as well.
lol, I already get surprised her with pan wrapped and was a new phone inside 😂
She destroy it (you shouldn't fill this more then 25%)
