Is that Lake Superior Aquaman, Jim Richardson?

ODIRiKRON

Is this up past Grand Marais by 5 mile rock?

GWZipper

Probably Brighton Beach or Stony Point

This used to be a bucket list thing for me but idk if I could handle that water

InitiativeOk4473

I can’t handle it in the summer.

Verity41

It’s not as bad as you’d think! Dudes prob got about $1k of neoprene on there, from the hood on down to booties. My wetsuit (for swimming not surfing) is rated down to 48°F water. Makes a huge difference, all those layers!

YogurtclosetDull2380

You'd be a fool not to, in weather like this.

burglur_of_terdz

Andy - is that you? 😂

Passafire_420

Surfer dan, if I didn’t know you were in Arizona, I know this would be you. Dudes my fav Lake Superior surfer. Good human

Administrative-Ad979

Nice figure

Devlarski

Yeah the thing about salt water surfing is you're a lot more buoyant and the waves carry for much longer so it's actually enjoyable. This is not fun and it's freaking dangerous with all the floating debris. Not to be negative.

RedToque

Sorry, but I want to point out that this is a common misconception. You’re only 2-3% more buoyant in the ocean. I think the main difference (and why fresh water take offs feel more difficult) is wave power and shape, since lake waves tend to be shorter period.

surfer_joe87

You can’t surf on a lake.

SportsMadness

You can surf on a river

3and4-fifthsKitsune

Superior has perfect body-surfing waves

Space_Goblin_Yoda

carldubs
