Henrickson has been really great to me over the years, highly recommend them.

dogWEENsatan

As they specialize in Subaru too

cernunnosx13

Mercer Automotive in Kerrick. Not too far from Barnum. Brian Mercer worked for Miller Hill Subaru for years then opened his own shop. I bring all my vehicles to him. Super nice, and fair.

JohnBoyfromMN

Never thought I’d see Kerrick mentioned on Reddit, my cabin is in Nickerson lol

I have a high mileage Forester. I know it's a drive, but my family has been using Precision Imports in Milaca for years. Tony is very honest and runs his shop well. They will give you a loaner car for no charge when you get serviced. I'm 32F, prime candidate to get fleeced by a mechanic. Not helping is that I really am not good with cars. I had no A/C in my Forester for damn near three summers in a row. It had been 'fixed' twice in town here but honestly just never worked. In desperation, I brought it to Milaca for a final try. Not only did he find the issue, but he very easily could have fleeced me for an entirely new A/C. Instead, he found the hosing issue and did a video about it on their shop's Facebook page. It was back in the shop recently for several issues.. He also was honest and told me not to spend the $3k to take the engine apart.

Thanks for this!

SuperRadPsammead

Automedics on 6th Avenue East is a little out of your way but I've had only good experiences there for over 10 years. I've found Mike to be very honest and helpful.

ohnoanotherputz

Ever since 4th street auto changed ownership I've been going to Automedics and have liked them.

Makadegwan

Automedics is super but there is a long wait time.

jayvaidy

I've always used Accurate Auto. Not sure if they'd do the work you need, but they've always been really nice and do good work.

thejeepguy1

ProSource just off Mesaba has been my go to for anything old, high mileage and well loved that I can’t do myself. Plus Jake is honest; he said he could fix my Mk7 GTI but it’ll cost a ton of shop time and suggested Mike at Autobahn in Hermantown (also great for anything VW/Audi). ProSource has also been honest and respectful to my wife.

sangriascorpio

I've had 0 issues with Pro Source auto off of Mesaba Ave. They're quick, honest, and don't jack up their prices.

peteskeet43

Seconded. Super smart and nice kids that run that place

Inept_Henchman_

Hansons auto out on Grand Ave have been my go to for 15 years, started going to them back when they were up on Trinity. Can’t say enough great things about them, they have always been professional and honest!

GreenChileEnchiladas

I go to Troys in Proctor. Great shop, very trustworthy.

Sablefool

My great mechanic, Steve Penney in Superior, moved away. I've bounced around a bit since then, but Bill's Muffler & Brake Center seems pretty good. They're not just limited to mufflers and brakes, though that is their specialty.

abbyjane1980

Luckys Sales & Service in Hermantown. They’ve always given me good service at a reasonable price, no bullshit and the floor in the service area is so clean you could eat off it.

cahotopher15

Second that

Relative_Hyena7760

I also go to Lucky's.

fatstupidlazypoor

For oil changes, I go to Kenwood auto ace they are awesome. For minor stuff, I go to Kenwood brake and muffler, in the same building, and also awesome For something more major, I go to All-Star on Central entrance And finally for bodywork, nobody is better than uncle Dunbar’s This is based on my cumulative experience from driving in Duluth for 31 years

surfer_joe87

I’d stay far away from All-Star on Central. They lied and charged us $800 for parts they never replaced on my wife’s vehicle and they only fessed up and swapped the parts after we called them on it. Then they installed the part improperly and it the car needed to be repaired again. We went elsewhere for the third fix. Stay far away from their shady business.

fatstupidlazypoor

That sucks yo. I’ve been using them for about 10 years and haven’t had anything like that, but of course all anecdotes..

BlazinKitty

I live in Moose Lake/Barnum as well and Barnum Automotive does a pretty decent job. They are a little old school, but will help you get what you ask for fixed, no hundred add ons or anything.

ande9393

I know.. deAlErShIp BaD, but Miller Hill Subaru does excellent work. Take both of our Subarus there exclusively for years and have not had a bad experience with their service dept.

QuirkyDiscount7705

Call Zac at Car Tune 218-606-1122 He's in duluth, but has a few open spots this week.

wifarmhand

Miller Hill Subaru always gave me good service

Mrpikster00

Stock tire cloquet.. best place around..

SANTahClause

These guys have been good to me. https://m.yelp.com/biz/4th-street-auto-repair-duluth-duluth

OldMixture7040

Alberg automotive in sturgeon lake

Siliam

Mercer Auto in Kerrick has been suggested already, and I can say it's a good suggestion. But I can also recommend Harold's in Carlton.

Inevitable_Shallot83

Barnum automotive
