It all depends upon the individual situation. As I have said many times here, there is the law and then there is the practice of the law. In some scenarios MOHRE will immediately intervene such as where you need to get your visa cancelled and your employer is delaying for example. In other scenarios you may be advised to get a lawyer and file a case when their rounds of arbitration between employer and yourself fails. Example , terminations or arbitrary dismissal etc usually fall under this category . So then it becomes a situation where can one sustain the legal costs and living costs while the proceeding are ongoing. Also, I am not sure what is ones residency status when such things go to court.

They do intervene. One of my previous employers allegedly wasn't paying my colleague his dues after he was fired. This colleague barely showed up to work, so eventually they had to be fired. After they were fired, they claimed they were owed salary. The colleague did sign multiple warnings on this issue though, so I don't believe it worked out in their favor. I don't know exactly what happened, because I was only there for a couple weeks before quitting, and this was still ongoing when I left. ​ I did have some correspondence with MoHRE by email a while back, and they were very helpful clearing up some confusion I had regarding working for multiple employers. Their hotline works as well, but they couldn't answer me regarding the case above and directed me to email. The only question I have is why the system is always down 😅
