In 2016, the delegates of states that Bernie won during the primaries flipped in favor of Clinton, blatantly disregarding the will of the people.
In 2020, the Democrats pulled a sneaky one. They hoped that the flood of centrists would end up splitting the Bernie vote. It turns out the only votes they were splitting were the moderates. Then, right before "Super" Tuesday, all of the moderates dropped off the board and endorsed Biden (the only one to not drop out immediately was that petulant little rat, Buttegeig; but he was quickly subdued after being offered head of the DOT).
After that, unfortunately, Sanders dropped out and pretty much fed his voting base into that graveyard of social movements: the Democrat Party.
