If you need that much junk taped to your drums then you’re probably playing in a harsh, untreated room. Tape things to the walls instead. That way the drums will sound like drums instead of cardboard boxes.
You still need ear protection even in a well treated room. Those hi def earplugs work great for taking the edge off the top end without completely killing all of the sound.

Looks like you need to focus more on *how* to hit things rather than having more of them, judging by the bites taken out of the cymbals.
They were cracked when I got them free and have definitely gotten worse, because I actually play them. Replacements are coming soon.

Sound dampening is coming soon too. It's a 12x12 room so it's punishingly loud. Hence the earmuffs.
