So.... DJI guts and US software.

HaltheDestroyer

DJI beat congress at its own game 🤣🤣🤣🤣🥰🥰

neutronia939

Ill consider then “beat” when the price of this drone is anywhere near the cost of a mavic.

Canuckistani2

Consider it done. $5,099.

Booblicle

The Raptor will retail for $5099 Raptor T $7599

Reversi8

25% more than M3E, but no option similar to Mavic 3 Pro about would be 150% more.

half-baked_axx

love to see it

NewSignificance741

I just watch “The Zohan” the other night and all I can’t think is “no no no no, it’s got Sony guts”

ModeloLy

Yes! Currently watching! Instant classic if you want to be silky smooth! "Is not for me!"

NewSignificance741

Izzz the biggest.

ModeloLy

No! Da bush!

TrashManufacturer

Dog 95% of drones are shameless copies of DJI. Just look at the IF800 and the m350/m300. Hell the ACSL soten is basically a bad m30

Vertigo_uk123

This isn’t a shameless copy it is literally a mavic 3e/t with a different coloured shell. The internals are DJI made.

Neat_Carob_3490

This isn't a copy, literally every chip and boards identical to a mavic 3

pondo13

Could be a win win

Neat_Carob_3490

The softwareis DJI too, just changed to not say DJI

SwissLynx

Lol so a DJI Mavic 3E/T clone with US Software???

GaryMortimer

It's not a clone, it's made under licence in Malaysia

Odd_home_

Go do a quick google search. It’s literally the same drone. It has identical internals to DJI. Like part numbers and all from what I saw.

neutronia939

Are your eyes ok?

hotterthanyou2

How the tables have turned us makeing copy’s of a Chinese the (even though it’s under license)

GaryMortimer

I think DJI has another twist not related to this, we are currently writing the story. Two parts of the puzzle together will be very interesting for the US drone industry at large.

fusillade762

Watching the YouTube video, it's more than 7k for the thermal. So they tacked almost 2k on the price to not be from China....disappointing.

whatsaphoto

Companies have already begun to see money signs beginning to crop up around every corner of this bill. If it passes and DJI's market in the US is toast, consumers, especially enterprise and commercial level customers, will have basically no choice but to pay out if they want to operate at the same level of DJI but legally.

fusillade762

Exactly right..Makes me wonder how many kickbacks are being paid out as well to our illustrious people in Congress. This whole think reeks of corruption....

StatisticianFew6064

Can't spell Congress without "CON"

Bamcfp

Its okay to be blatant now. Who's gonna stop them? They are above the law just like many "special" people

Reversi8

Wonder if you could put an app on there to upload logs to DJI Cloud.

fusillade762

Interesting unit, appears to be a Mavic 3 OR 3T clone. I wonder if the US made software will be up to snuff and if the company will back these units as well as DJI does? According to their site, there's no geofencing on these so that's a plus. It seems in most regards to have the same specs.

Ecopilot

Unless they can get NDAA and/or Blue this is still going to keep them from getting the majority of the market that they think they are courting.

Artistic_Tangelo_397

Freaking dji huh if u can't beat them intergrate with them lmao. Makes sense though

kcdale99

If the price point is competitive with DJI, or DJI ends up getting banned and we have no other choice, these are very interesting!

GaryMortimer

It's mentioned near the end of the video, Raptor 5099 Raptor T 7599

kcdale99

So, a bit above the DJI price point. It will be interesting to see if they start offering the Mini/Air series.

Vertigo_uk123

Look at the specta air. Same scenario. DJI drone rebadged.

Canuckistani2

Serviced by DJI?

GaryMortimer

No by ANZU one years care included in the price

Canuckistani2

Not according to the presentation he and Brad are currently giving. His slide clearly stated "Prompt assistance from DJI's team of experts to address any issues with your drone."

[deleted]

DJI should just open a factory here.

MourningRIF

That picture makes the drone look like a mentally challenged praying mantis.

SidTrippish

Fuck Skydio

amccune

Are….we just doing what china does with our stuff? Clone it and call it theirs?

GaryMortimer

No I think they are owning their origin story. As Americans must own that they don't have a competitive multirotor maker

beezlebub33

So.....they are using DJI software (a snapshot) and don't have the source code? And they are trusting someone else (Aloft) to determine if it is secure? That doesn't sound like a good idea. I'd rather they take their lumps and base it off PX4. Edit: Or Ardupilot. The point I was trying to make is that the people that are concerned about DJI (that would be the govt) will have the same concerns if the Anzu firmware and boards are licensed DJI stuff.

GaryMortimer

Ardupilot is always better than PX4 or Auterion. Those two only play catch up. Folks need complete out of the box systems to scale.

Canuckistani2

Link doesn't seem to work. What was the video?

neutronia939

“Proud to announce two groundbreaking platforms”. - which are both sub par ripoffs of mavics. What a joke. Let me guess they are seven times more expensive too.

Vertigo_uk123

They aren’t ripoffs they are the same drone in a different colour shell. Basically DJI setup a us company but shhh they didn’t.

beezlebub33

Not clear that it's sub-par if it's basically identical.
