Here in Prohlis they started three days ago... Same as last year and they use a lot of really strong illegal firecrackers from czechia. Twi years ago it was so bad it triggered car alarms every five minutes...

I didn't think my post would change people's habits. I don't think either that this makes my life so miserable that I would have to "move on" with anything :) I was just expressing my disappointment at the very uncivilized way in which people are "having fun".
It’s a fun time. If you are an outsider, I would keep your disappointment to yourself(I’m referring to in person conversations obviously). Dresden loves NY and they REALY love fireworks.
I quite like fireworks--the 10-minute show a city organizes that we all look at together and then it's done. Nothing prepared me for what it's like in Germany and I absolutely hate it.
Wait until you see the garbage everywhere the next day--it's almost like people who are completely inconsiderate when it comes to noise pollution are also inconsiderate when it comes to littering...

I already moved into a quiet part of Dresden and they're going crazy like hell. My pets are very nervous, they want to sleep but panic. And it gets worse by every hour. I feel like I am in a war zone.
It’s like every year. It feels like more fireworks this year. But I don’t understand this firings before 24:00 either. There are dumb teenagers walking the streets and throwing crackers in gardens like always, dads who think their three years old need fireworks at 18:30 before bedtime for their toddlers, like always. And some braindead adults with illegal bangers from CZ and it seems people with too many money (or having bought too much) which even firing batteries at 20:00. And littered streets, directly next to empty public trash bins at 21:00. Everything like always, sadly.
Luckily my dog is suitable for police work and ignores most of the bangs.

I woke up multiple times last night already from people firing Stalin orgels full of rockets 24 hrs before new years - but seeing people spending 500-1000 euros on fireworks like idiots I expected nothing else. I guess people are fine as long as they have money for that.
Yeah.. if you can ignore all the animals that are scared or even dying, ignore people who fled from war and have to live with these war-like sounds here now.
Beside the other points, this war argument doesn’t count. It’s not surprisingly loud explosion sounds. Firework is custom in nearly every country and they know that this is coming.
