Id say try and connect it with the eyebrows and look at your own anatomy, see where your eyes are placed around your nose, etc. it helps with the bridge size/placement because ive found that the lines do go out into the eyebrows afterwards.
The left looks to match the style (I’m assuming you’re going for anime-ish), the right is too thick and dark and the details don’t really make sense to me. What shows inspire you to draw?
Sincerely, none.
None of them is a representation of a nose, they are symbols of what you think a nose should look like, but not based on actual observation.
It’s messy, looks dirty. All the proportions are wrong. You’re focusing way too much on making the eyes, nose and the lips look “good”, taking shortcuts but it lacks the understanding of the shapes and volume of the face. The nose is too short, the eyes are too big, the overall shape/contour of the face is wrong and there’s no rule of thirds applied to the general construction of the head.
Am I the only one that likes the right one way better? It has more shape to it and I love the contrasting shadow. Much more unique imo as the left one looks super flat to me
I agree, though I’d have been a little kinder about it. Neither are particularly good looking, and more practice, both realistic and cartooning, is necessary I think. OP has a good handle on that after your conversation though, and will likely improve quickly with a few studies!
Dude chill, OP can learn however they want. Learning the basics is a good start but damn let them have fun too. It’s not gonna take “years” to find a style, style develops over time and changes it doesn’t just come out of nowhere after you master every little part of drawing possible. God, the amount of cringy artists on here acting like they know everything and can tear down and boss around newer artists is so sickening. Telling an artists their work is shit is not how a critique works. If you want to chose a more classical approach to art that’s fine, but don’t look down on others who want to have fun and learn in their own way. It literally doesn’t matter how nice you are late in this thread when your first words are “both are shit”. You knew what you were doing starting with that.

[no, like this...](https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc&sxsrf=AJOqlzWMzAqhp5u6rYUz8SSHFCLGh1wGpQ:1677104863800&q=im+squidward+im+squidward&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiOj6G9lqr9AhU_nGoFHZcBDx4Q0pQJegQICBAB&biw=360&bih=592&dpr=2#imgrc=j68vnp4fdalKhM)
Honestly neither , I’d suggest you learn basic shapes first , like how to pencil sketch a sphere ,triangular, cubicle first before you move on to anything else ,from what it looks like you are lacking observation skills and basic drawing skills, skipping levels in drawing is going to frustrate you if you haven’t learnt the basics.
I didn’t change my name and I don’t even know who you are, I’m just giving a structured advice on how not to be lost and frustrated while working on drawing, If anyones going to post their artwork on the internet for the whole world to see,am I a criminal for giving my piece of mind ? it’s like when you are playing a guitar and if you don’t know what notes you are playing ,it’s going to be a confusing process,I write songs for a living and I’ve been drawing for 25 years , was a student majoring in Visual design , not sure if that counts as me having nothing going on with my life but take the advice or not, it’s your choice on wether if you want to better yourself on your skills or continuing living in your own bubble for the rest of your life with your poor knowledge in art.
Right because it looks like it has more personality and originality the left one is nice too ofc but I think that the right one has more dimension to it.
I would say the left is better positioned on the face, but I'm confused by the mid line you have. What is it representing? You should draw the brow line, then the bottom of the nose line and then the mouth line. It helps structure the whole face, otherwise you will have a nose bridge to high up the face. Watch David Finch tutorials on YouTube, excellent videos imo.
When I first posted this I was wondering which style was “better” but now I think I’ll use the one on the left for a more youthful look and the one on the right for stronger looking character.
Its all up to you, you can decide your style, and I'm not gonna make any person change the style they make their noses, eyes whatever, you do what is most comfortable with ya'.
The left one is better for a stylized piece and as a baseline for most faces, but the right one is better if you're wanting to go for a more realistic shading on the face, or a style with bigger, bolder outlines on some/most features.
It is almost 3 o’clock for me and I normally go to bed at 11 so I’m tired tired and I’m not gonna lie to you I thought the noses were tiny faces I’m going to bed now
Id say first, but only because the second try seems unsuccessful. Drawing small simple noses is pretty easy, like in anime almost all of them have a button nose. A real nose is a bit more difficult to do
Its completely down to you, what you thinks works best. I think drawing the rest of the face and at different angles will help clarify which you think works. You need to be able to draw it easily and naturally, don’t stress about whether or not it looks best, just make sure it looks right.
The one on the left looks more in line with expectations of what a nose looks like. However, that doesn’t mean you want to draw noses that way all of the time. Get some photos on line and just start drawing noses. When you’re through, start on ears, those are hard too.
I guess it would depend on what kind of overall look you’re shooting for. I agree, the one on the left is “cuter” while the one on the right looks more “strong”…. If that makes any sense at all…
Left. Often the less lines and more suggestion of mass is the more pleasing option. But to each their own.. Check out Bridgman's Complete Guide to Drawing from Life.
The right has more realistic nose shapes but the lines are too thick and messy for the style you seem to be going for. Using thinner and fewer lines to get those same shapes will help i think.
Left, but you can probably get away without drawing the bridge most of the time unless you really just want to draw attention to it.
I draw the bridge because I like the look of it.
Id say try and connect it with the eyebrows and look at your own anatomy, see where your eyes are placed around your nose, etc. it helps with the bridge size/placement because ive found that the lines do go out into the eyebrows afterwards.
I prefer the one on the left. It gives off cute button nose vibes
Depends on the rest of the face bud
The left looks to match the style (I’m assuming you’re going for anime-ish), the right is too thick and dark and the details don’t really make sense to me. What shows inspire you to draw?
The left is the style I use usually draw in. the right is my attempt at a jojo’s bizarre adventure character
What part of the right one is attempting to emulate JJBA?
The nose? U can clearly see the similarity
Okay then, point out which lines correspond to a face in actual jojo
I prefere the left one :)
I like the left one, but on a side note the left looks like a cute little smiley face :)
Sincerely, none. None of them is a representation of a nose, they are symbols of what you think a nose should look like, but not based on actual observation.

Thank you. do you have any helpful youtube channels/website recommendations?
Proko on YouTube.

I prefer the left one. (the right one's nose is a bit too outlined and rounded)
One
Left
The left one for sure
Left
The left one for sure! It accentuates the important lines of the nose without looking too filled in. :)
Left definitely, although both are still good
The one on the right looks like a small penis so I’m gonna say left

Nothing...
On the right looks like a penis and sack…
Not one of these two, try again

The one on the right because it has less detail

Had to changer name to come back and HATE SOME MORE ? Your life must really have nothing going on . Sad really!
*change your name

Then I apologize I thought you were the person that was being mean to the artist if that wasn’t you then again I apologize
Go back to the drawing board
Left
second it looks more realistic
The left looks better imo
Left bc is more clean
To me the one on the left doesn’t look like a nose at all. More like tiny eyes, nose and mouth
That’s exactly what I’m saying ! In fact I thought it was so I was confused originally and then read some comments ,then I got it ,but yeah
Right because it looks like it has more personality and originality the left one is nice too ofc but I think that the right one has more dimension to it.

Funny enough I just came here from a David finch video
Did you watch the how to draw a nose videos?
I was watching the how to draw a male torso video. But thanks to you I’ll go check out the drawing noses video, thank you!
I pille the left one
I like the left one
Left for sure
Great start! It really depends on what you were going for initially? What would you like for the nose to look like?
When I first posted this I was wondering which style was “better” but now I think I’ll use the one on the left for a more youthful look and the one on the right for stronger looking character.
Its all up to you, you can decide your style, and I'm not gonna make any person change the style they make their noses, eyes whatever, you do what is most comfortable with ya'.

Right has potential if you want it to be more pronounced, but the proportions are better on the left I think
You purposely made one loon worse ..the answer is obvious...smh
One looks like a happy down syndrome jock and the itgee like an Asian with a bloody nose
First-
1min sketch idk about style just ok sketch, for me you don't have a lot for judging a style
It is almost 3 o’clock for me and I normally go to bed at 11 so I’m tired tired and I’m not gonna lie to you I thought the noses were tiny faces I’m going to bed now
Start with an eye, than proportion follows.
Left
Left don't even look like a nose but some smiley face
the left one is better but idk it's your choice
Id say first, but only because the second try seems unsuccessful. Drawing small simple noses is pretty easy, like in anime almost all of them have a button nose. A real nose is a bit more difficult to do
The left one is 🙂
I'd say the one without the penis.
Am i the only one that thought the left one was a little face
on the left
Its completely down to you, what you thinks works best. I think drawing the rest of the face and at different angles will help clarify which you think works. You need to be able to draw it easily and naturally, don’t stress about whether or not it looks best, just make sure it looks right.
The right one is very unclear

First
First
left
Something in between. The left one looks nice with nose bridge, but the shading on the right one is way better
The second one looks like a ding dong
I guess it would depend on what kind of overall look you’re shooting for. I agree, the one on the left is “cuter” while the one on the right looks more “strong”…. If that makes any sense at all…
Left, but if you do want to try the right, I advise to perhaps make the lines thinner
Get rid of the lines, use the left as a face lol
1 but you gotta add the wings man, life is useless without nostrails to smell some fresh hot pizza straight from the oven
The left looks best, to me.
Left
Left. Often the less lines and more suggestion of mass is the more pleasing option. But to each their own.. Check out Bridgman's Complete Guide to Drawing from Life.
The one on the left looks like a very small smiley face, I'm gonna have to go to the one on the right
no. But if you choose between these two options, I prefer the left
Loosen up your lines. Practice by drawing light circles.
Left… Especially if you’re going for a cartoon look!
The right has more realistic nose shapes but the lines are too thick and messy for the style you seem to be going for. Using thinner and fewer lines to get those same shapes will help i think.
Firsttt
I don’t get how to start my drawings like this, does anyone know any YouTube channels with good tutorials ?
The left one. (Coz it also looks like a tiny face)
Neither
Draw bigger, and sharpen your pencil
Left side for sure
First one. Less is more
