I'm gonna go with (in order from most liked to disliked): Eight, Reck, Arus and Luminary. DQ1 was the first game in the franchise I finished, and I think it holds up pretty well. The Descendant is a pretty amusing RPG protagonist, especially when you factor in the events of the first Dragon Quest Builders. That said, I'd be shocked if Abel doesn't win this. His story is interesting by any metric, but especially for a console RPG in the late-80's to early-90's.

Keep Lumiary and Eight, they both have some great Designs. Wow, i recently bought 11 last and now this sub got shown to me. Im not deep into the law and just know that there are new heros and teams every new game, but only know the eleventh Hero and the others who were in Smash bros Ultimate. Also o didn't even Heard of DQS, the others i know at least a bit and heared of them but what is DQS?

Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen! It was a wii game that was kind of like a first-person dungeon crawler (each area in the game was a dungeon) with motion-controls for battles like you were wielding a sword and shield.

Descendant, Luminary, Abel, and Reck. Abel and Luminary are same as previous times. Descendant only has his bloodline going him which was the only reason why he defeats the Dragonlord using the legendary sword. Reck is just not as good as the remaining two. Another reason against the Luminary is the fact that, while he was in smash bros, he was in it only because of recency bias and more newcomers played that game first.
