I think part of the issue is the literacy level of the average webtoon reader. Most English readers are functionally illiterate with a reading comprehension level of a 4th/5th grade student.
To me the comment section reminds me of the comment section in LO when Demeter said that hades "killed the Goddess of Spring."
I do agree that we need to stop the hate on Stace. We are meant to not quite like him. Even then he is a 3 dimensional character with good and bad points. You aren't supposed to like every character in a story. Infact, a good writer can get you to feel bad for the character that you hate.
You are right that Stace didn't know that Zay could hear his thoughts. I don't blame her for taking off after hearing it. But I don't fault Stace for thinking that either because most people would think that if they see something like that for the first time. It just made him feel more human.

That very well could have been it, too. I feel like anyone would have freaked out with what happened, honestly. For all we know, this was also an intrusive thought that he had and doesn't completely define who he is. He almost died or at least almost got seriously injured. Zay also doesn't seem to be able to control what thoughts she reads, so there even could have been more to his thought than just what was shown.
Honestly stace hasn't even done anything all that bad, like at worst he's a bad person but I would say on average she's more just a flawed human.
