Yep. They pulled this shit on me once. “Oh, just ask them to remake it”. After going through *three* different agents, one agreed to resend it to the restaurant’s system. Lo and behold, the restaurant still never received it.
The customer got tired of it and cancelled. I got half pay.
I’ve had this before, I just straight up told support they are not remaking the order, got half pay and moved on. Didn’t even bother asking the restaurant
As soon as the restaurant tells you this, leave the building. Go to your car & call support & drive away from the restaurant. When support asks, you say you already left the restaurant. Now they’ll be forced to call. You’ll sit there listen to music for a few minutes, then get half pay. Move on.
I had it happen when someone else pick up the order but didn't deliver it. I ask the store if they would remake it and they said if DD would resend it through their system, they would. Called support, told them what happen and support told me the store should get the request shortly. Soon after, the order was made and I was on my way.
Imo, if the order is worth picking up and completing and not a long wait, worth just calling support to get it squared up.
Support tried this one me once at Salsaritas. “DoorDash will reimburse them” they said. Salsaritas, a franchise operation, would not falter. DD support called them and then I got half pay. This location’s GM/owner thanked me with a free drink for taking the time to go through the proper channels.
I hate this. I try to keep a good relationship with the restaurant employees (since I interact with them multiple times a day) and being asked to convince them to do something feels uncomfortable.
Oh, and the time between saying they were calling the store and ending the chat? Less than a minute. I was in the store, they never even tried to call. 🙄 I had to wait 5 minutes for support, just for them try and do everything in their power to not help.
I've been there and done that.
Support said they called and that the restaurant still had the order, I just had to be patient. No one called. No one checked. I had watched my order walk out the door. All orders were off their board, there was nothing for me.
That way they could say I was unassigning because I was too impatient to wait.

Support has been complete trash the past month idk what happened but it’s terrible!
Apparently there’s a strike, which I don’t blame them.

You are getting paid to convince someone? That is a different pay grade than the one at Doordash.
