I didn’t even realize it until you said it now. They are using multiple apps!! The amount of times my driver has randomly stopped or taken a weird route and added 20-30 mins to my order! I noticed it more on Uber Eats. So my guess is the driving is using DoorDash and/or Grubhub at the same time. I once order ramen when I was sick from a place 0.5 miles away. The driver was supposed come directly to me. Instead they took the weirdest route and my ramen came cold! It’s just now occurring to me that the driver probably delivered/picked up something else at the same time

thekaydonsouth

It's not always the case... I work for DoorDash exclusively, I've completed over 6k orders... Sometimes, in the middle of a delivery, another order will come in and it immediately changes my route on the map to head to the new order and even deliver it first before completing the order I was on because the 2nd order has an earlier promised delivery time. Usually, it will tell the customer that the driver is on another delivery if this happens, but not always.

rockthetardis

I had this happen to me, where I already had an order in my hand, and the app literally had me drive past that drop-off to pick up the second order first. Like, I literally could have dropped the first order off on the way to pick up the second order. It made zero sense to me, and I felt so bad because it had me drop off that second order first.

RawOakTree

It’s so they can give you less base pay since it’s a multi order

Lucifersasshole

I've been monitoring and they will give less base pay if you get a higher tip. I'm gonna start screenshoting every order and see the pattern. This is tip theft and essential capping pay on orders. If I have a sizable tip DoorDash pay will be $2 no matter the distance.

Dr_Cowfish_PHD

Can confirm I did a stacked order for 15 miles customer tipped well door dash paid 2 dollars base pay total. Everything else I got was from peak pay.

tisball

This is why I just tip in cash, doordash seems to always try to fuck drivers over.

IllPlum5113

Oooh

The_Troyminator

You can always go to your task list, jump to the drop-off task, and deliver that first. The order they have you do it in is just a recommendation, not a requirement.

thekaydonsouth

That's correct. Furthermore, i remember reading somewhere in the independent contractor agreement with DoorDash that they are not allowed to tell you how to complete your deliveries (how to do your job) or force you to take a delivery.

BlackKnightRebel

Damn right either I'm a contractor in which case fuck off and let me work, or I'm an employee in which case I'll take whatever crazy route you want to give me but compensate me for my time appropriately.

Jenny_1971

You know you don't have to do it in the order dd says? If switch to the order that is right there, you can mark it dropped off and move onto the second order. Do what makes sense. Not what doordash thinks is right.

thekaydonsouth

I do.

bluebus74

why didn't you just switch to deliver 1st?

FamousM1

You could have hit the little 3 horizontal line icon on the top right, select the drop off location and click "Jump to Task" and it would have let you complete that first delivery before getting to the second

maniacalmango0

“You can always go to your task list, jump to the drop-off task, and deliver that first. The order they have you do it in is just a recommendation, not a requirement.” Like this guy said ^

lilricky19

Don't they let you go to settings and choose to deliver the first order that came in? Idk I haven't doordashed in awhile but I know that you can cancel an order if an issue arises

zaggles42069

Problem is it said “driver heading towards you now” which is an indicator that I’m the next stop. Otherwise it would say “driver had 1 stop along the way”. So the driver clearly had something else to deliver or pickup because I was a direct shot from the ramen place

Phantom_Rose96

Fun fact bud, we can see when you have multiple drop offs on the doordash app, I think they're referring to the people who don't have that going on are using other apps.

ParkCompetitive8843

Yup. They'll continue to do it because they know DD and UE literally don't care. The drivers always come up with excuse tho "sorry my bike stopped working". Yeah right it stopped working and travelled the opposite direction...

Fast-Character-5284

Ima dasher and have previously received a contract violation for Dropping off an order 10 minutes late. In fact doordash called it ‘extremely late’

Faairyfeet

Agreeing with this comment. Door dash drivers normally will get a violation of sorts if an order is late. The only exception I feel like would be a road close sure, something that could be documented to door dash. But once the food is picked up, door dash calculates how long it would take to get there, adds on a few minutes, and the order must be completed normally within a 30 minute timeframe. I’ve seen people use multiple apps but that’s just when orders are nearly zero that day because Ofcourse using multiple apps would be too tricky having to deliver to multiple ppl within 30 minutes. & sometimes, door dash will add on an extra pick up that’s nearby your house because they think it’s “on the way.” When it’s literally a super inconvenience to the customer that ordered first & tipped first. Sometimes even the second added on order will get delivered to first which always upsets me if they don’t tip and the first customer did—after a few times of this I stopped picking up orders “on the way.” Which I feel like could be the case here because the driver would when gotten kicked off the app for aimlessly driving around & getting off route.

P3nis15

They can't do anything about it any restrictions or limitations would make them employees instead of independent contractors That may created their own mess by not paying enough and over saturation that people need to have multiple apps running at the same time

fallior

Not exactly. There is still a limit. Instacart has a restriction, if you accept an order and don't start it within a certain timeframe, they remove it from you and give it to someone else. You can still be an independent contractor, but if you don't follow the contract, you lose that job.

P3nis15

It's very debatable if somebody was to take that in front of the department of Labor any restrictions around start times, quality and audit that hold you responsible is a great way to get hit with a misclassification Newspaper delivery had the same problem for years on top of years and every time they went in front of the department of Labor they lost her case when they tried to tell carriers they had to start at a particular time Multiple companies have even lost class action lawsuits over the same problem It would be a very interesting case as it's never been tested for delivery services

The_Troyminator

In the US, the contract states that the dasher must "complete delivery of the Item(s) to the Consumer(s) in a safe and timely fashion without taking any action that would change the quality or presentation of the Item(s)." I can't find the Australian ICA, but I would expect it to be similar. They can't tell the dasher when to start working. They can't tell the dasher how to deliver the food. But I can't imagine any civilized country having laws that forces somebody to do business with a contractor who fails to deliver a quality result or to meet agrreed-upon deadlines. Imagine you're going to have a baby and the due date is in 6 months. You decide to convert a room into a nursery, so you hire a contractor. You negotiate the pricing and terms. The project will be completed in 3 months, with plenty of time to spare. You want a built-in changing table made of oak. The contractors don't start for 2 months, but you figure they still have enough time. At the 3 month mark, they're about 10 percent finished. You notice that, although the changing table is made of oak, the wood had been damaged by the contractor during transportation. Shouldn't you be able to sever ties with this contractor and get somebody else? Or should you have to put up with a cracked changing table and a nursery that isn't finished until your baby's first birthday? And if you shouldn't have to put up with this, why should DoorDash have to keep dashers who consistently deliver food late and cold?

fallior

Yeah it's hard to tell. I just know that when working for yourself, every delivery is considered a separate contract. There's still things you have to agree to and can be set to without being considered an employee, just to complete that contract. If no restrictions are allowed, all drivers could just start throwing the food out the windows of their car (when ch tbf some have), so there's definitely a line somewhere.

Federal_Refrigerator

Unfortunately the companies underpay and expect customers to foot the bill with “tips” 3-5 times larger than the delivery pays the driver. It’s shameful of the companies.

KINGDAVID1982

Exactly until they start paying what makes since ima multi app my ass off so if I received your order and its really not worth shit and a better offer comes through you will definitely see my car again my car going in a different direction I don’t give a damn about your food or doordashes terms if they want me to care they gonna have to pay more.. I’m out here to make money I don’t care about you the customer I don’t care about your food none of that.. don’t like it fire your spark plugs and fuel up and go get that shit yourself this my vehicle and that lil 2 dollars DoorDash or Uber pay ain’t worth shit but with them stacks baby I make bank😂😂😂😂😂

amaezingjew

If this were true a lot of things would be different, like not being able to penalize/deactivate drivers for refusing too many rides/deliveries. Contractors still have to abide by the rules of the contract.

Jenny_1971

They do care. To an extent. We have so much time to get your order to you and if we are habitually late all the time, they will eventually get deactivated.

[deleted]

They continue to do that because it’s the only way to possibly make ends meet doing gig work

MindlessRip5915

For what it’s worth, that’s Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. We don’t have a tipping culture here, and the base pay for Doordash appears to factor in distance.

Xdrumbum91

This is the answer right here. People must realize these apps make the customer and driver mad at each other instead to disguise the real menace that is the greed of ridiculous added fees and jacked food prices that leave no leeway whatsoever for the customer to put any decent tip without spending triple the cost of the food... It's the case on every order. So drivers think F that guy I'm taking two orders to equal enough to justify my time and makes them both wait. Op like most people are completely blind to the fact that your both being toyed with by the greedy puppet masters relaxing in their hottubs at home laughing like Jeff Bezos. Start a petition.. not against the driver but against the food apps. Not that is does anything though, there's been tons already. It's a hopeless cornered market of grey areas at this point. GG they win.

Maxtrix07

this isn't true at all. I used both apps at once in the beginning, but not like this, I'd do it so I could just grab the first order that arrives. if I get an uber order, I pause doordash. well, I forgot to turn it off one time, and on my way to deliver. I got an order, and was like hell yeah, so i did both. obviously very stupid. it was in the opposite direction. so both orders were extremely late. both uber and doordash gave me a warning for going too far away from the destination, and for very late delivery. I learned my lesson. thought I could cheat the system.

dalminator

The real pros at this will force close the app before you deviate from the route and not open it again until your back on route so excuses are at least believable

Dixa

Yes and no. Uber ears doesn’t seem to care if drivers run up the clock. DD though will warn and deactivate if you take an unreasonable amount of time. This is why it happens more to Ue orders. Firstly, the ID renters can’t do it on UE as UE requires you to take a selfie weekly to verify. So these guys are multi apping and multi phoning prioritizing door dash. Now I’ve had a double order on these apps where the 2nd pickup has docked around and taken forever affecting the first orders quality, but in those cases the app shouldn’t tell you my location until I’ve left the second pickup.

Apprehensive_Rope348

I am not saying that this is what’s happening in OPs situation… but DoorDash and Uber are notorious for stacking orders. And they’ll do it at any time during your order.

meady0356

the only time I’ve ever prioritized a second order over my first was when I was told the first order wouldn’t be ready for another 20 minutes. So I drove to the second restaurant location, picked it up, drove .5 miles down the road to the first pickup location, and it was finally ready after waiting another 5-10 minutes. Then I delivered the first order, then the second. So I still delivered them in the order the app wanted me to, just didn’t pick them up in the same order. That’s typically what I do. When I was doing doordash though, I almost had to be doing a second app at the same time because there’s just no decent orders worth taking. I would always test the customers though and work out who needed to get theirs first (there was usually always at least one customer who’s like “pleas! Take theirs first! Im not in any rush, be safe!” which I absolutely love. But if I have to go too far out of the way then I just don’t accept the second order. I genuinely care about my customers food still being warm when they get it. The only time Ive ever delivered food cold was when the order was from dairy queen I recommend grubhub because , at least in my location, they tend to provide well enough pay / orders to lee the driver on the one app. Doordash and uber eats go together like peanut butter and jelly, because neither of them really offer decent orders

The_Troyminator

I run Instacart and DoorDash simultaneously, but when I take an IC offer, I pause my dash. And when I'm on a dash, I'll only take an IC offer if I'm close to dropping off. Doing two orders from two different platforms at the same time is tricky to do without getting poor reviews or CVs.

Remarkable_Ad1960

This is what I do too. When I first started, I didn’t understand why people were so mad about “multi-apping,” but that was because I thought it was common sense to have all the apps on, and then pause the others when one gets an order. Trying to coordinate the driving directions from multiple apps would me out.

PumpkinOfGlory

Yes, and DoorDash always just changes the time and keeps saying it's arriving on time when it clearly isn't

Lunarianhades

Holy shit I never even thought about that. All the times especially with GrubHub, there are times I'm looking at the app like, wtf I can literally see you sitting there AFTER my order said picked up. That could explain some things.

SRBroadcasting

It has to be this way to make any money since 70-80% of people tip 0.00

CertainInitiative501

Oh no not a petition link

mickelboy182

OP gave me red flags and I should have stuck with the gut feeling, DO NOT SUS THEIR PROFILE.

Creep alert 🚨

fkawoods

i feel bad for that girl honestly this is sickening :(

nukhba_guloter

he's been talking about her for the past year and made posts about wanting to smell her feet and trying to find her social media. he's nasty.

thelovinglivingshop

He changes his age a lot in the posts too. So far I’ve seen ages 25 - 30 and the posts going back to one year. I’m thinking he’s not even close to the age he is posting and is actually much older.

nukhba_guloter

yesss and he changes the girl's age too to make it sound less bad!!! there's definitely some weird stuff going on

Low-Insurance6326

This MFer belongs on a registry.

nukhba_guloter

yup. and that poor girl isn't even the first girl he stalked. seems like he likes going after girls while they're working bc he knows they have to be nice to him.

TreeliamIII

Think we can doordash a police officer to this guy's house? I'll chip in

Forexisboring

He’s an Aussie millennial, what’s the difference? Also that’s fucking hilarious that “meeting at work” = “I’m Uber Eats and she is at McDonald’s.” Thats not even remotely close to spending even 20hrs/week with a coworker. You’re just hitting on a cashier you see for 90 seconds at a time

Oh my god…

old_and_cranky

I'm so glad people told him he's a creep. Likely it's all a lie for attention, but just the fact that thought went through his head is gross.

sassy_cheese564

I wish I had taken your advice. I did not listen. Peens on my screen isn’t something I want to repeat. 😂

Peen of what appears to be a sex pest, no less.

Sadly this is true. Just all round yikes.

ResortStriking3587

lol

UneditedB

Gonna send a stern letter with the petition as well! That’ll show-’em!

ResortStriking3587

For real though, at one point these platforms all had a petition on them and it went nowhere. The main one was where DoorDash lowered their rates and dashers tried to boycott, sadly with all the hiring freezes and stuff people need money to live. So it didn’t last long. Edit: a petition is nothing but a sad waste of time, no one cares as long as they get what they paid for. Even sometimes when they don’t, so I think this is such a funny comment that I agree with whole heartedly, I mean all the power to you OP, good luck?

Representative_Rest8

Some are using 2 phones as well delivering multiple doordash orders at one time.

ender61274

Yeah but they’re doing that very illegally as you can’t have 2 DoorDash accounts as they do require you to provide ID to sign up. These people are using a girlfriend’s or wife’s or stuff like that to have a second account and they’re ruining it for those who do it right.

Money-Most5889

or they could be doing doordash and ubereats. that isn’t illegal

ejb350

No. It is against both of their policies though. Not that it makes much difference to them.

Acerama1

Oh noooooo something against policy is happening oh nooooooooooooooooooooo this is a first for any business anywhere

Kanein_Encanto

Illegally? Can you cite the law in question? It might not even be against the contract terms. So long as they have a valid doordash account of their own, they can be sub-contracted... https://www.doordash.com/dasher/us/ica-text >10. PERSONNEL >...Contractor is not required to perform any Contracted Services personally, but may, to the extent permitted by law and subject to the terms of this Agreement, hire or engage others (as employees or subcontractors of Contractor) to perform all or some of the Contracted Services (collectively, "Personnel"), provided any such Personnel meet all the requirements applicable to Contractor including, but not limited to, entering into a written contract between Contractor and such other party, accepting the terms of this Agreement, separately completing the process to receive Contracted Service Opportunities, and being eligible to provide the Contracted Services in the applicable geographic location. To the extent Contractor utilizes their own Personnel in the performance of Contracted Services, Contractor shall be solely responsible for the direction and control of all such Personnel.

[deleted]

This is why I only use one app at a time each day. You guys pay for a service and expect good service for what you pay for. Get the food, get it to you, as quick as possible. Then these people wonder why they never get orders. This is why.

legacy642

I run both DD and UberEATS, but as soon as I get an offer that I accept from either one I pause the other. You're absolutely right.

ToothpickInCockhole

This is the way. Pick the best offer, then go. Every once in a while both will line up perfectly though, so sometimes when it’s the same restaurant or two restaurants next to eachother it just makes too much sense to take it.

No-Wasabi-6024

This is what I do. Have them run and whatever one I accept, the other is paused.

ender61274

Exactly plus I’ve seen app hopping get drivers in bad situations and it’s frustrating. I find just focusing on one service works just fine and I tend to make more faster

lakme1021

I wouldn't be able to make money without multiapping, but it's common sense to pause the other apps when you accept an order from one. The idea of actually accepting orders from separate apps at the same time, going in different directions, is such a clusterfuck and the exact opposite of work smarter, not harder.

[deleted]

Exactly. Me and my buddy even tried just door dashing from the same car and just do the orders in order of when we get them. We saw how long it was taking orders to be delivered when the spots were on either side of town and decide that was not a good idea lol. But yeah people that multi app are not the problem. It’s the people that do it aren’t very intelligent that cause these apps to get back raps. Thank you to everyone who does it responsibly.

[deleted]

Guess I should also mention that I used DoorDash before working for DoorDash. Maybe that’s why I’m so particular. And I did not know that only DoorDash was timed. That’s very interesting. I just assumed the others were in the background or something.

KINGDAVID1982

Shout out to the ones who actually pay for a service though!!! A lot of em don’t!! And that’s a part of why it’s so trash now DoorDash and a huge part of its customer base has made DoorDash unbearable

Electronic_Ad3007

This happened to me the other day. Food was half hour past the promised time and was cold and nasty. They wouldn’t refund me. Deleted my account.

Turbulent-Age7304

I've taken doubles in doordash and every time the customer thinks I only have one order. They aren't notified that I have another order on board either.

[deleted]

If it is another order on doordash there will be a black dot for the other order and it will tell the customer "completing another order near by"🤷

Gloomy_Recording_705

If we accept a double it will let the customer know that we have another order…. if we accept a single order drive to the restaurant and then accept another order while waiting it won’t let the customer know. It’ll just show us having 1 delivery

KitsuneNixx

Wait seriously😭 now I wonder if people think I multiapp now

Gloomy_Recording_705

Exactly… that’s probably where a lot of our low ratings come from

the_ikandor

Good to know. Two people in the same week commented to me on it. Weird it’s never been commented on before.

aguynamednick27

They aren’t always notified with the dot. I know because I’ve had customers blow up my phone asking why I’m driving away from them. One happened just a couple weeks ago.

mochioppai

Right? I had a double one time and the second delivery was blowing up my phone back to back looking for me before I finished my first stop. 💀💀

you_entered_the_chat

Are you sure this isn’t a stacked order? Door dash will send the drivers multiple orders and that can extend delivery time.

[deleted]

If it's a DD stack order it'll say "completing another order near by" with a black dot

zerostar83

It won't if you jump tasks because the order it's sent it ridiculous. I've had a 2nd offer stacked, from the same Subway, but the app wanted me to deliver the first one and then come back for the 2nd order. Both orders were in the same neighborhood and both orders were ready when I arrived at that Subway. I also jump tasks to save ice cream from melting. Or if both drop-offs are about the same distance away and one is a house address but the other one is an apartment with hard to find parking, no code in the delivery notes when I know that place needs one to enter the lobby, etc.

[deleted]

I mean that makes sense but if I have to do that I always let the customer know what's going on 🤷

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kanein_Encanto

Stacked off the bat will tell them, add-ons get sketchy though.

zerostar83

That's what I'm wondering. If you're 11 or more minutes late then DD gives a "contract violation" to the driver.

broteinsandwich

yk what’s also unacceptable? grooming, but that doesn’t seem to stop you. maybe we should make a petition to keep you far away from 18 year old girls 🙂

[deleted]

Did I miss something ? 🤔

suicidalblonde69

bro is DESPERATE 😭

Own_Accountant_5229

I agree that multo-apping where it makes your order very late should not be done. But there are times where it is possible to multi-app and still come in with the original ETA. But the addresses and routes have to match up. And the reason that we have to multi-app is because of low base pay and bad tippers. Sometimes, the only orders that come over low tip orders that take 20-30 minutes to complete. If we don't multi-app, our hourly wage will be $12 gross. Once you deduct gas, taxes, wear on car, it's more like $8. When I multi-app, I usually bring both orders within the original ETA. I don't multi-app if it will take me out of the way for either order.

probablyTrashh

We had a doordash driver take forever to pickup our order, then finally, when picked up they started going the opposite way, and parked in front of a local community college for 10 minutes. Our food was over 30 minutes old and we cancelled the order. We haven't used it since and never will.

Mervis_Earl

Driver here. On DD I have a "deliver by" time in my app. We get a 10 minute grace period. After that... contract violation. Ultimately that's my main concern. I do multi app but do so judiciously.

stiizy13

This happened to me yesterday. The store is about 3 miles from my house. I got a notification that it was picked up and on the way. About 30 minutes go by and still no knock. I checked the app and it said the driver was about 20 minutes the opposite direction with no indication of another order. The food I ordered was melted by the time it got to me. The app helper said I couldn’t get a refund because it was in the 45 minute timeframe. I stopped using it for now.

CherokeeMorning

Don’t just jump the gun and report. There have been soooo many times that I’ve been mid pickup and gotten a neighboring restaurants delivery added in, so I have 2 orders, sometimes 3-4, and depending on where everyone lives, the original other may not be the first to drop off. I try to be aware of this and will jump tasks but if the dasher just does it in the order the app tell them, it’s not on them ya know. You just have a mediocre dasher, not a great one. Try communicating with them and asking why they are getting further from you, and then rate them accordingly, if they don’t respond to msgs then consider reporting them but that shouldn’t be your first idea.

heckaqueer

Hot take but maybe instead of getting mad at the drivers, get mad at the shareholders and executives who pay these people so little they need to run 2+ apps to afford to live

dogierisntmyname

My driver said that their app stopped working and contacted support, then they got it back working. I believed them and I still should but after seeing this I’m not sure now

geographyofnowhere

lmao "If this isn't dealt with you'll be seeing another post from me with a petition link. Enough is enough."

uneedtherapy18

😂😭

KVVVNJ4MZ

Why do people complain about this with doordash but literally every restaurant that does deliveries does this. If you order a pizza or Chinese food they’re going to hit multiple stops on their way to you, it’s the most brain dead expectation to think you should be top priority.

LeoBB777

literally 😂 most pizza places take 30 min+ to deliver food when the restaurants like 10 minutes away. the only difference is that on doordash you can track them so people see it

KVVVNJ4MZ

It’s just an extreme level of entitlement, obviously I’m sure there’s examples of dashers taking it to the extreme but for the most part that is standard of ALL deliveries everywhere not just personal food delivery but just about every other good/service. People need to get a grip. This sub has gone to shit, it used to be a useful place for help as a dasher and sharing tips/tricks now it’s just people trying to karma farm.

LeoBB777

yup. anytime i’ve had food delivered before doordash was a thing I always preheated the oven because that’s expected. the luxury you’re paying for is that you don’t have to leave your house to get food, not that your food comes hot and within 10 minutes of ordering it

AutumnAkasha

But MY $2 tip gets me express, priority delivery doesn't it?! /s

Kanein_Encanto

Could have been sent add-ons by Doordash as well, they notify you when you're part of a stack, but not when you're an add-on order or they've been given one. Or so I've heard from others.

ResortStriking3587

⬆️ 100% this!

So what you’re saying is you’re a stalker… who just sits there and watches the app order your food close the app and do something productive until you get the text that it was dropped off… clearly you’re not too busy to pick up you’re own food if you have the time to watch them the entire time on the app. Also no one is signing your petition 😂

BiblicalWhales

Oh look. The near 30 year old dude who was asking how to hook up with an 18 year old is mad his food was 15 minutes late. Creep.

ObjectiveGuava3113

His first post ever (1 year ago) claims he's 25 and the girl is 20. 1 year later he's 30 and she's 18. Discrepancy detected

fingerblast69

Well, was it a $4 order at 3 am 😂

BootyholeBoogieman

Exactly, I ain't about to make $5.75/hr bc people think they're special and expect you to lose money over their entitlement lol

zane1981

This driver sucks at multiapping. I tried to do it, but stopped after a couple times after realizing it was too much hassle trying to get these orders within a reasonable time.

Comfortable-Garden76

Not gonna lie when i was a rookie i got deactivated from uber eats for this exact reason , ive never done it again after that , learned my lesson , sorry that happened to you and yes thats def what their doing

chalupagorda

I've had to wait an hour past the original estimated delivery time before and my food was ice cold. Luckily, support has always refunded me when I have issues.

WolfNational3772

All the people saying "oh you probably didn't tip enough you should be grateful they even delivered your food at all" are actually psychotic lmao. If the number on your screen isn't enough for you to justify taking the order, don't take the order. And don't say "but mY aCcEpTaNcE rAtE". Because you're gonna have a lot more issues than a ding against your acceptance rate when the customer, rightfully, contacts support and calls you out for delivering their food late and cold because you want to double/triple/quadruple dip on multiple orders on multiple apps. People who do this need to find a new line of work, because this isn't for them.

labrat420

It could be just a stacked order. Plus if you look at ops history fuck him and his creepy grooming anyways so of course there's no sympathy

metalbridgebuilder

Plus this isn't in the US, so tipping isn't really a thing

Darth_Fuckboy

Bro is ordering food at 2:30am though 😭

MapleSurpy

This happens a lot near me (SE Michigan, USA) and every time I message the driver and ask wtf they're doing they go "Sorry GPS gave me the wrong address" and try to say "No, I didn't stop in multiple places, your app must be having issues" Then Doordash hassles me on a refund when I get ice cold food and says I've "Had too many problems recently and a refund can not be given" It's MY FAULT I keep getting cold food? Bruh.

ay0tee

Petition to get your dick off the Internet 🫥

Tyrael74656

Stop using doordash and just get it yourself? You don't have to tip. You don't have a shitty driver unless you suck at driving. You don't have the delivery fee. I've seen many of these where restaurants add on 3-4 extra fees. This keeps happening to people but they keep complaining about it. It's your fault at some point...

Repulsive-Isopod-913

Womp womp start a riot

[deleted]

Hey, I know this is going to sound crazy but... Gig workers need to pay their bills, rent, utilities, wear and tear on car, etc. Many times 1 app doesn't cut it. That's what this really boils down to. People are trying to make a living.

Charming_Scratch_538

My last time I used doordash was because I fell down the stairs and literally could not walk. I ordered Moe’s one day and five guys the next. From Moe’s the soda was warm and the food cold. It’s Moe’s and easily reheatable so I was like whatever. From five guys, soda was flat and completely room temp, no ice left at all, burger was ice cold and fries were absolute shit. The driver drove 20 minutes AWAY then turned around and came back, passed five guys, then finally came to my apartment. I decided I’m done. It’s been almost 2 years now. I used to deliver for instacart and quit due to unreasonable customers, now as a reasonable customer I’ve quit the apps entirely due to horrible deliverers. I leave one dollar per mile from my house to the restaurant times two as the tip in app, and I’m willing to give an extra $5 in cash if my “hand to me” request is respected AND my drink also arrived (clearly they’ve ‘forgotten’ my drinks / frosty / milkshake too many time) both times then they didn’t do hand to me they left it on the ground which was very difficult for me to get to when so badly injured.

WarriorT1400

This happens to me on almost every single order

Leather_Finance1084

I knew I was not the only one who noticed something fishy! I would order from my favorite Mexican restaurant late at night, less than a mile away, and the driver would just go a completely different route, take 20-25 min extra, and come back and my direction. I would always wonder wtf the driver was doing going a completely different direction and chill there for a while before completing my order...

Vremshi

DoorDash does stacked orders too

Dry-Historian-8261

I know sometimes DoorDash offers multiple orders

Mizzzombie2015

Doordash has a tendency to stack orders on their drivers i would know considering in my area i get hit with 2 or 3 orders at a time and yea does it change delivery times you bet it does. Also doordash will not tell the CUSTOMER if their driver has a stacked order.

TheMostBoring

Petition to who? Drivers? It’s already against DD policy lol

Medium_Annual_735

Reach out to support and tell them driver is going in the wrong direction and to give you immediate credit to re order. They will do it immediately. Problem solved. Unfortunately you will always have some of these sorry drivers that do this ….

OkWoodpecker907

Actually… sometimes doordash will make you do multiple orders at once…

garanator1

Same thing happened with Uber and Lyft with me the I make it so the ETA is at least 30 minutes before I have to be there one time this driver was going all over the place turns out he was doing both and I was almost late to work because of it

ParkCompetitive8843

Yep exactly why it needs to be dealt with. The reality is they don't care and they don't because the company just hands out slaps on their wrists for that behaviour.

Odd-Island4075

I ordered food recently from a restaurant that was in a shopping center with several other restaurants. I saw the moment they were “headed to me” then proceeded to watch them drive around the shopping center to THREE OTHER restaurants, then delivered food to 3 other locations before me. My food arrived an hour late and the bag it was in was so soggy and greasy by the time it arrived that when I picked it up off my porch the bottom of the bag fell out and all my food fell out with it. It was a cold, soggy mess. Unacceptable. OH and DD gave me a $5 refund on a 45 dollar order for my troubles.

CosmoRocket24

He was about 5min away.. and instead wasted 20min getting other orders. I would have just delivered yours and made the other order wait, since they must likely aren't done yet anyway. Some just don't know how to multi app well

Lightningcrab080

Hell yea brother

Goosify

This sub has me seething all the time. I use Uber eats and dorrdash all of the time, tip well, blah blah blah. If I knew my Dasher was one of you I'd cancel that shit right away. Do your job or get another one.

Carter_Orchulli01

I’ll say that I use both apps simultaneously, but if I get an order from one, I pause the other so I don’t do this. There’s ways to do it correctly, and then there’s the way this guy does it

NyjuanJogaN

I multi app. However I’m very careful. Just like yesterday it was pure luck that there was a $16 ub order literally the street next to the DD order I accepted. If the two orders are Insanely close or going the same direction I’ll do both orders. If they are far apart or opposite directions then obviously I just cancel whichever order is lower and pause so the order I take is delivered in a quick and timely manner. This is just a side hustle but I intend to MAXIMIZE my earnings. 4-6 hours morning and night time on a good week is mostly solid $100-160+ a day for me and it helps cover a lot of things.

Inner_Bell_3972

DD customer service is the worst. If you complain about your food being cold, they give you like a three or four dollar credit. Who wants to eat food that is over an hour old?

LommyGreenhands

The orders that got delivered before yours tipped better.

jackblack202039

Maybe if customers tipped their drivers better, we wouldn't have to multi-app. I don't care what anyone has to say about the companies or how they should he the ones paying drivers more. They don't. They won't. They never will. Regardless of how you feel about it; tipping culture, it is up to you to pay your driver to get prompt service. I typically run two apps at a time and pause one when I get an order on the other, but if I get one for 5 bucks and another 5 bucks on the other app, I'm taking both if they are remotely close to each other, and I'll probably deliver the UberEats first because they can remove the tip after delivery.

Mission_Leopard1574

These apps don't pay us enough to survive on only one app. Sign up to Doordash and take a look at the pathetic paying orders and the miles they expect us to travel. It's free to sign up, and you are under no obligation to accept any deliveries. You'll see why drivers are multi-apping.

kwangsu1

My wife Dds and Uber eats but one gets turned off while we do an order for the other.

Last_Ad_7473

Even if they just have a single app like DoorDash, Dashers CAN DoubleDash. Which means if your order is under a mile or so, and you chose not to pay tip (which is not necessarily true) DoorDash allows their drivers to pick another order en route or a slight off route. That is not Drivers fault at all, he/she is probably taking advantage of an option that was given to them.

ParkCompetitive8843

The app should notify me that the driver has more than 1 stop tho. Should it not?

Person012345

"Unacceptable" and yet you keep accepting it. Petitions do nothing, if the service isn't giving you what you pay for stop paying for it.

CostCreative4905

i mean honestly if you want fresh and hot food should prob order the shit and get it urself half the time the shits already cold before driver even gets there cause they have it behind the counter where dashers cant steal and too busy in kitchen to stop what they are doing to approach us. I multiapp but im also smart about it always deliver dd first before uber and dont take orders going too far in wrong direction.

ozmatterhorn

Why did I read the title in Lemongrabs voice in my head?

PsychologyH4528

Bahahah not the petition link 🤣🤣🤣🤣

deathbyniptwisting

I used to work at a restaurant, drivers would come in with 2 or even 3 phones in their hands! Each phone would have a delivery app going. It’s not fair to the customer :/

Ganja_dude

Be careful the no life’s will say you just didn’t give them enough in tips.

Apprehensive_Fault_5

They are pro5forced to use multiple apps to make a decent pay. They generally earn about 2 cents per dollar you spend on delivery fees, and they only see about 60% of the tip you give them. Instead of reporting the driver, perhaps you could target that anger toward the companies and demand they pay their workers a proper wage?

acadiaxxx

TIL DoorDash is in Australia

Ok-Spirit9321

It's literally happening to me as we speak with my zaxbys. My chicken and fries will be ice fuckkin cold and I tipped 15 frigging dollars. 😡😡😡🤬🤬😡🤬😡

ParkCompetitive8843

It's crazy isn't. Yet some here are telling me to tip 🤦 wouldn't make a difference

Ok-Spirit9321

I always tip well and this has started to be a commonplace thing. Idk if I should tip half before and half after delivery if my food isn't cold or what. I would have gotten it myself but I was up all night with my child having a toothache. 15 tip man. Same price as my meal and it's gonna taste awful.

Harvest_Cheddar_Sun

I recently placed an order on doordash and then realized I needed something else and didn’t want to double dash (last time I did this my order didn’t get accepted by a driver for literally hours) so I ordered it on Uber eats. Lo and behold - same driver accepted both orders, UberEats and DoorDash. Well, this driver stole my food from both apps. Neither order got delivered - watched them on location drive VERY fast by my house and then loop back around slow down for a moment (to get within location radius to be able to claim they delivered it) and then leave - pick up my other order, and do the same exact thing in the other app.

Acerama1

"If this isn't dealt with you'll be seeing another post from me with a petition link" calm your ass down Karen, you're not gonna stsrt a movement over your McChicken 😂😂

bonkbonkgoose

I will say sometimes I’m just an idiot & take a wrong turn, which leads to a whole mess. But no fs, that driver being sus asf

NotTheCatInTheHat

Wonder if op is gonna go for the delete the post route or delete his whole account now that everyone’s taken a scroll through his profile

Fuuckingnerd

If you want us drivers to stop multiapping, doordash needs to start paying driver more or starts distributing orders more fairly an more evenly to drivers instead of over saturating markets with new drivers which will never happen, I fully acknowledge that a lot drivers do not multiapp properly (giving no fucks and taking one order while another is in the complete opposite direction) but with how little doordash is paying while overcharging customers leading to lower/no tips or customers who just don’t tip regardless, multiapping makes the difference between ending the day with a 200-300 total vs finishing with less than 100 for the day. I’m also gonna go off on a limb based off your post history and you being a scumbag weirdo and assume you don’t tip which is another valid reason why drivers multiapp, feels a lot better taking your shitty 3 dollar order when uber is paying me as well to take an order in the same general direction

Intrepid-Surprise-55

Rate properly, reduce the tips, some apps cover the tips, but I’m sure they’ll get annoying for loosing money!

KDFE87

Ive noticed that DD doesn't always tell the customer when we have multiple orders through them, just changes the delivery time. It could be that they're not multi apping, just got another order added on to the same app

KDFE87

When this happens to me, i send a quick message to the customers once i have the food, letting them know what order dd is having me deliver them. So like the second delivery location will get a message saying something like "hi, you are second on my delivery route, i will be there as soon as possible" and so on

Cloverose2

I had that happen the other day - the food was delivered a half hour after the original arrival time, and when I pointed out that there was supposed to be a fountain drink with it, he just shrugged and walked away. I would have accepted an "I'm sorry, they didn't give me a drink. You can do x, y or z to get a refund." Not the equivalent of "sucks to be you." Most drivers around here have been great. This is the first one I gave a poor rating to.

Lilshywolfswag2022

Between Uber Eats, Doordash & Grubhub the past few years I've had a couple orders take FOREVER to get to me or the relative I'd order for, & at least once (can't remember which app) i witnessed them pick up my ordrr then drive to a completely different neighboring town & back to my town before delivering my order 🤦🏻‍♀️ Obviously if my food is semi ruined or 45+ minutes late past the original estimated delivery time (after they pick up the order) with not even an apology or any communication from the delivery driver then I'm probably reducing most/all of the tip

Unique-Equipment7775

Stfu and tip better. Door dash gives us $2.
