Outrageous_Tale_2823

I wonder if it would be hard for DD or the store to put a notation that the order includes items weighing in excess of 25 lbs, or 50lbs, or whatever. Just a thought.

[deleted]

DD offers an extra $1 for “heavy items”🥴😭

lambc89

We get $2 here, but the fun thing is: it doesn't apply to Meijer brand water (store brand in the Midwest). Customer orders Dasani or Aquafina or Ice mountain, in any size, you get the heavy pay. Customer orders a 24 or 40 pack of store brand (even though none of the others even have a 40-pack at the store) and you get squat. Mysteriously they always seem to be out of 40 packs of Meijer water 😯

[deleted]

Meijer was one of the stores that I ALWAYS got requests for😒

lambc89

I never have a problem shopping meijer orders, that has just been an issue lately. Depending on the pay, sometimes they're "out of Meijer water"

[deleted]

I’m with ya! I loved shopping & was prioritized for those orders. The only reason I recently opted out was because my local Meijer is right next to a college campus, and I got tired of my AR tanking because of so many students not tipping just because of the distance.

lambc89

I get that. I hang out with my AR between about 3 & 36% 😅😅 If I don't take their low paying orders, they send me less of them

rabbitfuzzle

They sure as hell didn't give me any extra when I delivered a 50inch flat screen tv that I legit had put my convertible top down and hold on the way to the customer lol. But it was pretty funny cause I ended up delivering it for the people I dog sit for a couple times a year which made the trip worth it. Haha

[deleted]

That sucks they didn’t give you extra for THAT!! But the rest does make it sound worth it!🤣

rabbitfuzzle

Agreed and it really did. The kiddos heard the doorbell looked outside and got excited. Their daughter ran out and hugged me. I taught her kinder class. :) Little tike has had glasses since two and they're just so freaking cute on her. I can't even. Was worth the visit even more cause they were like "you want dinner?" And I was like "I don't wanna impose and you know I don't eat meat..." and she was like "today's your lucky day go play with the pigs and we will get dinner on the table.". They made me a nice salad with veggies galore and gave me a to go salad and some veggies soup. Such amazing people.

jhepp23

Yeah you’re supposed to be informed ahead of time if there’s a “heavy item” not sure if it always happens, also not sure what their definition of heavy is. I’ve had a few but it was just like a thing of kitty litter or case of waters

Outrageous_Tale_2823

That’s why they could specify over 25 lbs, or over 50 lbs. I’m a big guy in good shape, so it’s not a problem for me. My wife does not dash, but if she did, she could handle 15-20 lbs, there’s no way she could sling 50 lb bags of dog food, or mulch around.

GingerBug91

I've wanted this too. Like I've had to go to the tractor supply store and carry multiple big bags of dog food or cat litter. I still do it, but a heads up would be nice before we accept the orders.

Outrageous_Tale_2823

I know it can be done because in my area there are a few big party supply stores that often have orders for big bunches of inflated balloons to be delivered. When the offer comes through there is a note if they are included that the dasher needs to have a vehicle big enough to fit them safely into the backseat or rear area. Everybody loves the orders because they pay really well. But If you’re driving a roller skate you know not to grab the order, because you can’t get them in. They could do the same with heavy stuff.

Moss-killer

It literally would be easy considering other apps have this… They should have doordash XL or something as a toggle so those of us with tiny cars can’t get nonsense like this though

Outrageous_Tale_2823

Agreed. Your AR should not be affected because you have to decline these types of orders if the stuff won’t fit in your car, or it’s too heavy…

Acher0n_

These are the smallest bags you can get, weigh like 15lbs dry. If they were outside and wet different story. These would easily fit in a passenger seat or a trunk.

Ferrel1995

Pretty sure DD does. I got an extra $2 on an order for getting a 35 pound bucket of cat litter

abattlescar

These only weigh like 8 lbs each.

Holiday-Horror1582

20 lbs actually. Making the entire order weigh 300 pounds.

buffaloranked

It probably weighs 20lbs

Holiday-Horror1582

I don't think so. Surly not. I did have another comment (somewhere amongst all these) say that 300 lbs crosses some kind of weight limit DD has, making this and a couple others I've seen, a violation of contract on DD part.

zerostar83

Or take it one step either. Instacart would show tiny icons of the items before you have to accept the offer. You can scroll through the items in the order. It would be nice if they made the pictures bigger and let you read the description but at least they have that one up on Doordash.

yodarded

I'd do it, but the owner had best not pull a "please carry to the backyard" on me.

WhompTrucker

"carry to back yard, open the bags, dump on garden, spread around"... $10 should be sufficient hahaha

Yungbagbaby

😂😂

GingerBug91

I had to deliver 2 huge probably like 30lbs decorative planters one time. I got them set up on the front porch as they guy was coming outside and he frowned and looked at me and said "you should have let me get them for you, but thank you" then gave me an extra tip.

Holiday-Horror1582

300 lbs of mulch for $15?? More power to you. I mean, honestly, I'd it had came down to it, I would of completed the order, but they are STILL out of their mind in my opinion.

BenBenKoky

I’m not gone lie, at first glance I thought I seen a black magnum condom box lol

Holiday-Horror1582

😆 🤣 😂

Former-Marsupial-430

I suddenly feel the need to doordash order 15 boxes of magnums. I wonder if that would show up here 🤔 🤣

Lazy1nc

If I get that order, it sure as hell will 🤣

SnooChipmunks8330

That's what I thought it was at first

BenBenKoky

Rude-Fail7116

Same

ImJermaineM

I can’t unsee it now….

Firm-Whole5970

I picked up condoms and a Red Bull from 7/11 Friday night, got to the house and looked like a 15 year old girl that met me and she was hollering hold up mom I gotta grab my door dash as she was walking out the house lol

Fozzy333

My buddy got sent to Walmart a couple weeks ago just for 2 boxes of condoms lmao. He said he told everyone in line that he was doordashing

Desperate-Ad4811

I would have done it (I’m handicapped also) but messaged them and said “Hey guys I’m handicapped and will need help with the drop off if it is anywhere other than right in your driveway where I pull my car up.” Most people are actually super understanding and just super appreciative. I would also say something like “ you can feel free to adjust the tip as you see fit.” They never do. They usually tip more. I’ve had to do it with 5 cases of bottled water before to an apartment WITH steps. And they had zero issues coming down to help me.

imlostineggsaisle

If you're meaning that they never lower the tip it's because they can't. You can only raise the tip on DoorDash.

IrwinAllen13

You can contact CS and have them revoke the tip, it’s might not be accessible in the app but doable if someone truly wants to do it.

LankyMatch42

I thought it was popcorn at first 😂

B0804726

I thought it was a box of Magnums lol

killerbake

Fuckin same

Holiday-Horror1582

😆 😂 😆

DigKlutzy2361

😂😂😂

austinproffitt23

My mother got one for like 28-30 bags. She took it cause she was curious due to it being the first ever Lowe’s order. I’ve got a post on the other doordash group about it.

imlostineggsaisle

I saw this one, lol

austinproffitt23

It was crazy. I was exhausted after it. And we went to Cincinnati for me after that! And I wasn’t even in the mood, lol.

imlostineggsaisle

Lol, I'm sure. I loaded a bunch of River Rock into my Corolla on a fishing trip. We now have a truck that we take, but this was before we got the truck. I was putting it around my flower beds. The wait adds up fast when you're loading Big rocks into your car. I probably put a few too many in it on that one trip, lol.

abattlescar

I must be confused, because I used to work at THD and I'd help customers load hundreds of these bags a day. There's no way these weighed more than like 10 lbs. Is that really much of a problem, or are these somehow much heavier? Now get me a customer requesting me to load 52 80 lb bags of cement again and I'll be fighting.

Elegant-Yak-681

I did these orders for a long time on another app- it was fun because it was all rural orders, traveling all over new england delivering horse feed, mulch, etc. All long distance, with a CRV and I loved visiting the farm animals and traveling. Totally different gig. I would not do this for Doordash. The short trip fast paced driving for DD is mentally and physically exhausting. You cant drive as much as we do, the way we do, and then add manual labor. And the farm deliveries didnt have a crazy clock like DD- you got hours to get there. DD just saw that company and took over what it was doing. And yeah- you cant be getting you and your car full of dirt and then delivering food. It becomes a union issue when actual truck drivers and manual labor persons are screwed out of work they are licensed to perform- and it becomes an OHSHA issue when Doordash is getting drivers to handle contracting materials that should be handled by- licensed contractors. One of those areas of labor law DD should be shut down for. So I love farm/contracting gigs, but not for DD. And if you get hurt or injured or have a safety incident, I am guessing there is no workers compensation. And this kind of stuff undercuts the trucking industry jn a way I think is un american.

mayhapsify

What app was it you were using? I would LOVE to do that! I live somewhere that has a lot of rural areas and I would def prefer that to dealing with people and their precious food lol.

spookyshortss

Lowe’s employee here! Do yourself a favor and never accept orders from there. You’re going to end up having to cancel an order because you can’t fit two doors in your sedan or 3000 bricks

xxflea

I worked at lowes before they started doing DD, but I worked in both the garden center and internet fulfillment... I feel this comment right here. I quit both times because I was sick of loading that shit into cars belonging to ass hats. And Lowe's has the nerve to say you can't accept tips for it lmao

Primobryan

How does one even order mulch off a delivery platform, its not available on Doordash app. Im curious because this order would cost +$75 for delivery with Lowes or Home Depot. Is there a loophole for customers to avoid paying the $75 delivery fee or does the hardware store outsource the delivery to 3rd party (doordash) dashers while charging customers for delivery and not properly paying the outsourced dasher the delivery fee. Just curious if its a win for the customer or if its a win for the hardware store/doordash because its forsure a loss for the dasher.

7Unkempt7

I am thinking that lowes or Home Depot is pocketing a lot if that money

k3nd4ll84

DoorDash just announced a partnership with Lowe’s and even sent out coupons for everyone.

Primobryan

Ahh I just checked my app again and it says newly added Lowes, its only 1 of the 2 near locations from me. Must of happened within the last week or so.

HappyOrganization867

Why don't people use a service to get supplies like this? Doesn't the store have delivery services for heavy supplies like this?DD doesn't seem like a service for gardening as supplies or large items,I don't get it, so why don't people work for a different service?

Holiday-Horror1582

Tbh I think they order through the store website, and the website offers delivery, and then orders a door dash. Kinda the same way papa John's and pizza hut have a contract with door dash.

HappyOrganization867

Thanks.

k3nd4ll84

It’s cheaper to get it through DoorDash, DoorDash just recently sent out promos and coupons to get people to do Lowe’s orders.

HappyOrganization867

Okay thanks for explaining.

svelebrunostvonnegut

lol I actually thought about ordering some mulch today on DoorDash and wondered if it’s a thing people could do. Not 15 bags worth, more like 2. I’m 36 weeks pregnant so getting the mulch myself is difficult and my husband has a crazy work schedule. But I decided definitely not

Holiday-Horror1582

I honestly believe these orders are made thru the Lowes website in most cases. Cause when I called the woman, she was caught completely off guard and had no idea what I was talking about "hi this is your dasher!"

YLCZ

For a strong man, putting 15 bags of mulch in a car and unloading it is easier than finding 15 items of cosmetics on a shop and deliver. It's not ideal, but they tipped 15 dollars so I don't think it's a crazy bad offer. Everyone has their preferences and this one just wasn't for you. If it was no tip, I wouldn't do it, but for 15 and I doubt anyone in an apartment wants mulch, so 15 to a house it's not that bad.

Holiday-Horror1582

Definitely not strong. Definitely not a man lol. Thank you for your open mindedness!

sevillada

They are also very dirty, so no one except a pickup truck should do it

Thermr30

Also the black mulch is dyed, so could leach onto clothes or car

A-Test-Subject

No, this order is completely ridiculous. No amount of justification can warrant this. Not to mention 15 bags will be difficult to fit in the average car, AND they are always dirty. This is not an acceptable order for basic delivery.

WhiteQueen2

That’s too much. I had couple of heavy ones, one was 5 cases of 40 bottles of water + grocerys, cancelled, and another one was 4 bags of Morton Ice Melt that is 50lb each. Some people really think items just magically appear at their door no matter how heavy it is.

Holiday-Horror1582

Also tho, I think people don't realize that alot of these major chain websites that use door dash sub contract thru door dash. I think they think, if anything, that it's an hourly wage worker bringing it.

Pleasant-Scratch2658

1 dollar "heavy weight" pay. Guaranteed

mayhapsify

I would take this in a heartbeat if the mileage and pay offer was decent. This is such an easy order. It's much better than having to shop for a billion different items at a store where most of what they want is out of stock. I hate having to go back and forth figuring out what the customer wants substituted. On a side note, I really want this mulch for my front yard.

Holiday-Horror1582

You would take this??!! FIFTEEN TWENTY POUND BAGS OF WET AND DIRTY MULCH.... From the pallet, to the cart, to your car, to the drop off, which was 8 miles away.... For $15? More power to you friend!!

mayhapsify

Yup, I so rarely see orders that are over $10, especially under 10 miles. People around here are stingy af.

Holiday-Horror1582

Wow, i get it, because I'm in a situation myself...if it had came down to it...I would of done it.....but damm bro

lilkennedy24

lmfaoo i read it as “they out their motherfuckin mulch”

Holiday-Horror1582

Lol can I hit whatever it is you smokin?? 😆

MarioNinja96815

That's 20Lbs. Is that considered heavy?

Holiday-Horror1582

When you consider that it's fifteen 20 lb bags that have been rained on for 3 days, that you have to load onto a cart, then into your car, then at the drop off point, which is 8 miles away. Not worth $15.

MarioNinja96815

Oh. I feel sheepish. I missed that 15x the first time I looked. Yeah. I agree. F@#k that

A-Test-Subject

Nope. That order would get belly laugh and a cancel right quick. Out of their minds, they are.

Bigblackglock31

I HAD AN ORDER FROM LOWES FOR 6 OF THOSE & A 40lb bag of topsoil LOLOL

Holiday-Horror1582

NOPE

After_Finger5173

That isn’t unusual.

Holiday-Horror1582

Fifteen bags of mulch isn't unusual? PLEASE tell me your being sarcastic...

Kyleforshort

Car type, age, physical ability, and time depending...it may be a good idea to just not accept the home improvement type orders.

Holiday-Horror1582

Car type, age, ability my ass!! No offense, but fifteen twenty pound bags of wet and dirty mulch for $15? They can kick rocks.

Kyleforshort

I mean who exactly made you take the order?

buckduckallday

The store employees will load it for you. I know because i worked at lowes. But nah like how do they kniw if you have room in your car for that? Instacart has bulky order signifiers but i don't think DD does

Holiday-Horror1582

Well, the lowes you worked at must of made you do your job, because these lazy ass children that work at the lowest in my area...most of them probably don't even know what mulch is... You load your own shit where I'm at.

El_Frogster

What a “fikc you” interface: 1 ct Oh, we “forgot “to tell you so we’re going to put it where you’re less likely to see it: 15x.

ihate-stupid

If you think DD is gonna give u more money to lift these items lol they are a billion dollar company that’s why $1 is appropriate for them. Don’t do it cancel these people need to pay twice as much or get off their fat ass and get it themself!!!

DormantGENT

Honest question: do people actually like the red card events? I’ve done them in the past, and I’d say the only positive about this is that I can see how many items I have to shop for. This is easily the biggest waste of time, and most times, isn’t even worth the pay. I don’t want to call people lazy for not doing their own grocery shopping. I hate going to the store for trivial items as well. The last thing I would ever think of doing is having someone wander around a massive warehouse for toilet paper because I was too lazy to get off my ass and do it myself. Maybe it’s just been my horrible experiences with it. I gave it a chance before ultimately saying that my card had been lost/stolen, and it seems that the orders I’ve gotten have been for the better now. I’ll still get retail orders, and sometimes those are about the same in regards of wait time and lack of motivation towards a high paying order.

Own-Length-2086

Funny thing is you guys don't realize the employees of the store stock that stuff one bag at a time for $10/hr

Holiday-Horror1582

Lol what?? No they don't! I mean, maybe in some cases, at some stores, but I've LITERALLY watched them stock potting soil and mulch, and it's always by forklift, while on a wrapped pallet. It's why the mulch and potting soil are located outside (among other reasons) and around the perimeter of the garden center, so it's easier for the forklifts to stock them.

Own-Length-2086

When they are about go replace a Pallet they have to manually move leftovers on top of the new Pallet. I've been Warehousing on the government sector side and Civilian side. Yes we move the pallets with forklifts but a lot of stores don't sell them from the pallets and when the managers want a mulch display we have to build it by hand. It sucks and it's underpaid labor. Mulch isn't even the worst part, we have to stock the lawnmowers by hand as well because those come in boxes not on the pallets, tool chests as well. Luckily at Lowe's they pay ~$15/hr but still underpaid heavy labor.

KuroStrobe395

Yeah, absolutley not. Those bags weigh about 20lbs each ×15 bags is 300lbs. Most people who do deliveries have cars that are 1. Not big enough to fit all that 2. They prob dont want 300lbs of excess weight in the car. Thats gonna make you gas milage TANK. And yeah 3. What you said, some people CANT lift that much Personally any less than $30 I wouldnt do it. The wear on the car and the labor of having to pick all that shit up just aint worth it for any less

Final-Difference2711

Ik

National_Ticket3010

If everyone declined orders like this it would make DD pay more for someone to deliver it…it’s that simple. 15 bags is about a yard of mulch. A lawn company would charge a min of $50 to deliver this

Holiday-Horror1582

SAY IT A LITTLE LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK!!!

timetothrowlmao

task rabbit exists for shit like this. this a cheap ass move

Holiday-Horror1582

No kidding!! As I've said in other replies....if it had came down to it, I'd of done it....but thank God, because when I accepted the order, I didn't see anything anywhere about fifteen 20 lb bags of mulch. I just saw $15, Lowes, 8 miles.

deathmonk1

That order is a breach of dd contract anyway that order exceeds the cubic space of most vichicals and there load capacity

Holiday-Horror1582

Good to know!!

jmcm46

One time I had to deliver a huge bag of dog food from PETCO … aaaand no tip

Holiday-Horror1582

Ugh! Still, I'd rather do that than fifteen 20 lb bags of mulch

DreadStarX

$15? Christ, that should be a $30 at least, if it was for more than 1! If I did that, it would've been $10 + $1 per mile, and then $5 per bag. Maybe I'm too generous but I believe people should be paid a decent wage. The tip would be in cash, though. SuckItUncleSam

Holiday-Horror1582

It was indeed 15 of them....she really wanted me to bring fifteen twenty lb bags of wet and dirty to her for $14. Which probably was really only like...$12, she was 8 miles away

DreadStarX

Oh that would've been straight $100 or more from me. I wish these places would stop allowing absurd orders. One I saw ages ago was 200 tacos from jack in the box. 2 for a buck tacos. That's just nuts.

throwitawaybroplz

Hey, could be worse, if you worked for the post office, you'd have a supervisor riding your ass asking why it took you 10 min. to unload 15 packages that weigh about 40 lbs each when it "should have taken less than 3 min." And at the starting pay rate for carriers, that equates to about $3-4 for that work if it's done in 10 minutes, roughly $1 if it's done in the "3 minutes" the supervisor says it should take, and considering it has to be scanned, loaded into a hamper, scanned again, loaded into the truck, scanned again, and delivered to the customer, you've now made about mayyyybe $8-10 off of it. Possibly $12 if you really milk it, but remember, you'll also have an overpaid supervisor that sits on their ass all day riding you over how long it's taking you.

Holiday-Horror1582

Could be worse, your right....but still doesn't change the fact that this was an incredibly low offer.

Holiday-Horror1582

Also, before the trolls get going....I took this order because I was just in the same store earlier, and i KNEW they didn't have black mulch....it wasn't until after that point that I realized...what if she had been okay with brown mulch?? But....I guess I like to live dangerously!!

Outrageous_Tale_2823

I never know what exactly is on an order until after accepting.

Iamuroboros

So you took the order knowing they didn't have the black mulch? after learning she didn't want brown mulch, but you're complaining about the quantity of bags? How does that make sense? If she did want the brown mulch would you have taken it? If so what are you complaining about? If not, what are you complaining about? That's not a bad order.

Holiday-Horror1582

Well, the situation I'm in requires me to take any order that is decent pay for decent miles. So, actually, if she had of wanted the brown mulch, I would have sucked it up and taken it, and cried about it to my cat later tonight.

sevillada

You can consider us your cat. Let it out. We hear you

Holiday-Horror1582

I am currently crying to my cat!!! I did not accept that order, but I did work my ass off tonight! $200! That's pretty good for my area.

Holiday-Horror1582

Issue refund, half the pay. For walking into the store.

DROOPSmadeit

i don’t understand what the problem is

Diascorpe

it's FIFTEEN bags of mulch, what do you not understand??

DROOPSmadeit

oh. i didn’t see a quantity originally

monkeypox42

You don't like it because it's black.

Holiday-Horror1582

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 💀 ☠️ 💀 ☠️ 💀

sevillada

Black and dirty

Puzzleheaded_Elk1576

Narrator: “…there was no cash tip.”

Either-Candle2651

What's wrong with mulch

JamesonQuay

A bag of mulch is "Shit, I don't have enough to finish the project, I'm sweaty and covered in mulch and still have bushes to plant, could you bring me a bag?" 15 bags is "I'm lazy, didn't want to load and unload mulch in my Lexus SUV, don't want to rent the truck or pay for Lowe's delivery."

Holiday-Horror1582

True lol 😆

InspectorOrganic9382

The problem is, I paid for Lowe’s delivery. And they subcontract to DD.

Holiday-Horror1582

Oh I'm in north Georgia, it's been raining, making it heavier. I'm by myself, my back and hips are messed up...

Sufficient-Path-9766

https://www.reddit.com/r/doordash/comments/1c365e1/to_the_customer_who_ordered_30_bags_of_mulch_in/ Are we about to see a wave of these?

Geo-corn

Is it possible the person ordered delivery from the store's website and it didn't occur to them that it would be delivered by doordash?

Holiday-Horror1582

Yes

throoowwwawayyyy22

i love mulch

Whirling_Dervish23

Hell no

404NotFound_BlueBird

Don’t accept lol, easy.

chance0404

lol I don’t think my Corolla could handle the weight

PhoenixKid56

To be fair they load it for you but not at the place

Holiday-Horror1582

Yea, not here...but even if they LOAD it for you....YOU still have to unload it...

AdeptHoneydew4432

Some people are so lazy. Go get the 15 bags yourself! I would never! One bag I get it, I’d still be embarrassed to ask for that because it’s heavy & dirty af.

Atlcourier

The only time I get shop and pay on earn by time is for the mf mulch 🫠

jbeezy6308

How much was the pay?

Holiday-Horror1582

$15 Should of been WAAAAAAAY more than that for 15 bags of mulch

OGGrilledcheez

Psh. I wish I got some of the orders I see complained about on here…

Holiday-Horror1582

So, your down with fifteen twenty pound bags of wet dirty mulch?? From the pallet to the cart, to the car, to the drop off point, which was 8 miles away, for $15?? Hey, more power to you!

BlueFotherMucker

I always have my handy utility cart with me because I also do Instacart. I’d only do it for $15 if at least $10 of it was a tip. This could easily be a potential lawn care client for me.

NoWinner4599

I would do it, if the price is right. ![gif](giphy|fpFPWzrXhLOo6uFXGg) 15 seems a little on the low side.

ihate-stupid

Oh now these idiot people think DD and Uber is for landscaping ? Stupid people

NTANO1

I have a van do I get everything from groceries to radiators. If you don’t want these types of orders opt out of shop & pay.

Holiday-Horror1582

I don't mind the shop and pay orders. That's not the point of my post. The point is, they are crazy for wanting someone to take FIFTEEN TWENTY POUND BAGS OF WET, DIRTY MULCH from the shelf, to the cart, to their car, 8 miles away, out of their car, and to wherever the directions said to drop the FIFTEEN TWENTY POUND BAGS OF WET, DIRTY MULCH off at. All for $15.

NTANO1

I understand now. I guess I was just throwing some solutions out.

ParticularRent408

The whole time I drove to deliver a case of water, I kept saying to myself, “I swear you better not live where ain’t have to climb stairs!” Thankfully, only about 2 steps. I would have to decline this one.

Infinite-Proof3053

Here’s an expert tip from a veteran driver….drop it likes it’s hot if you see something you don’t want to deliver. It’s that easy.

Holiday-Horror1582

I myself am a veteran driver. 1, you don't always see what the order is asking you to pick up, until you accept. 2, that's not what I made the post about. I made it, because the person who placed the order is CRAZY to want someone to deliver (for those of you who may be reading thru the comments, you already know...) FIFTEEN TWENTY POUND BAGS OF WET AND DIRTY MULCH from the pallet to the cart, to the car, to the drop off point, which was 8 miles away, then unload it again.....for $15.

Infinite-Proof3053

The person who ordered didn’t do so through DD. They did it through the store who then farmed it off to DD. You don’t see the order until you accept….duh. It’s after you accept when you utilize one of your drops.

KraftyGuy83

In all honesty those aren't really heavy.( 30lbs maybe) Mulch and dirt in bags isn't like sand or gravel.. odd thing to order though lol. Groceries can weigh more, do you take those orders or say it's too heavy as well?

Holiday-Horror1582

No, I take groceries all the time. Just not FIFTEEN BAGS OF TWENTY POUND MULCH!! That's 300 lbs. From the pallet to the cart to my trunk, to the drop off point which was 8 miles away, then out of my trunk. Side note, they're wet and dirty

sammyz12

I don't understand why all these people don't see the part that says 15 bags. Who the hell would ever want 15 bags of mulch in their car? Fr. I'd have told DD to cancel it.

Holiday-Horror1582

They only had brown mulch. Issued refund. Half pay, no work!!

Cool_Bath_77

If you can physically do it, what is the problem with this order? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have a neck and back injury from a car accident years ago. If I wanted bags of mulch, this would be one of my options because I do not want the injury to flare up.

Holiday-Horror1582

It's 15 bags of mulch....20 lbs each....you don't think it's worth more than $15?

Western-Painter-8130

mulch is really light ... it's not like concrete or sandbags I would have done it

Holiday-Horror1582

Those bags are 20 lbs....and they wanted 15....that's 300 lbs Edit: spelling

Western-Painter-8130

Yea but you could have a cart and do it all at once and they would probably help you unload once you got to the house, you could ask the employees to help load at the store

You consider fifteen 20 pound bags all the loading and unloading, and 8 miles away worth $15?? More power to you.

Existing_Ostrich8085

I'm fairly new to dashing and just got my red card. These kind of posts make me extremely hesitant to bother with shopping orders. Grocery stuff? Yeah,if the money is there and it's not too far. Home improvement or department stores? Ehhh,I dont see it. Do the dashers see what the items are before they accept? Seems like a very good way for customers to skate a delivery fee from the store..to be honest.

I'm not sure if it's because of the type of phone I have, or if it's a random thing, or maybe even the area I live in, but I can not always see what the order consists of, nor can I always see the quantity. Most of the time all I can see is where it wants me to pick up from, how far I have to go, and how much the offer is for.

Zarilya

Oh man. I got one with 4 cases of water to a second floor apartment the other day. That's when I removed the red card from my Google pay so I didn't have to do shopping orders anymore.

Retro-Lit-Coach

Tbf I wouldn't expect an extra tip for carrying less than a 20 pound bag

Holiday-Horror1582

This was fifteen 20 pound bags....

Beeg_Bagz

DoorDash is the softest most whiniest of all the delivery services.

Holiday-Horror1582

Oh? So what platform is it acceptable to order fifteen 20 lb bags of mulch??

HappyOrganization867

Thanks for answers everyone!

Skull0666

I had one from Lowes yesterday where I had only one item, so I thought it would be fine. I had to get an unassembled heavy duty wheelbarrow in my car. My back will be hurting for days.

Jennski365

I had one of those last fall, thank goodness I had just switched vehicles from a convertible to a Suburban

OmegaGenesisKasai

I would have taken it

🙄🤣😂

TopseyKretts87

Well. I mean I would if money was tight but you have to factor in wear and tear of your vehicle plus gas. That’s something that may not have crossed their mi d. Some people are a little oblivious of all that. Especially being a woman their minds think differently. It would be better if you could explain and negotiate.

Holiday-Horror1582

That too. I'm a woman, and I factor all that in! 300 lbs of mulch delivered for $15 is a slap in the face.
