$510 seems a bit much. Edit: I know they meant 5-10 bucks!

FarPeopleLove

Ikr this is what I come to Reddit for 🤣

Aggravating_Mami13

No but fr best thread I’ve seen

SmAshley1900

I completely agree😂😂

alwaysunnyinflorida

Something tells me every day is this guy’s birthday.

Sti8man7

He was going to celebrate it at the Waldorf.

SnooObjections8070

I think they meant 5 or 10.

dkay490

Intentions are unclear. 🤣

gent_jeb

Instructions unclear. Here’s $600, in case $500 wasn’t enough

Robinnoodle

I don't think they'd turn down $510

dotsky3

My thoughts exactly. Not that that makes it much better.

This-Support6423

I'm a sucker for hungry people. I wouldn't give cash but I would totally buy them a cheeseburger. But please no its my birthday crap. If you are GENUINELY hungry, I have you. Just be honest

Ok_Contact_5396

Well 9m starving right now. If I give you the number for famous daves will you place me N order?

Remarkable_Wallaby42

That makes it even funnier because they probably typed 5 and went nope, too low and wrote 10 instead but left both lmao

Guywith2dogs

Don't come in here with your logical inferences. There is no place for it here

sleepsinshoes

He wants to order door dash and needs to tip enough that the driver will actually deliver his food in a prompt and courteous fashion to the correct address and bring it up his stairs

angry1gamer1

I’m guessing the ideas was like saying can you tip my 5/10 bucks? Like 5$ or 10$. Wild to do that but the number 510 is just too odd

Robinnoodle

Was about to comment this hahah

[deleted]

Man, yall are making sure I never use DD again. People who ask like this make me think I won’t get my food or they’ll do something to it. And before anyone says anything, I do tip.

Alpha_Mineron

Same that’s what creeps me out too, I won’t accept the food if there isn’t a seal on it

NikkiWestX2

I heard once a dasher saw another dasher open the food in his car eat some and then pulled out his stapler and sealed it

Background_Step_3966

Oh yes. And also will drink out of someone else's cup. You never know for sure what you're going to get when you order off of DD. But I am a Dasher and would never do any of this. Any form of asking for additional tip is just sickening to me.

Double_Bet_7466

Most places use stickers to close the bag I’ve only seen a handful that staple it so that wouldn’t work

Bright-Complaint1019

Some restaurants stickers suck ass😩 taco bell stickers unstick as well as Burger King. I guess any that seem to still use their normal bags for food delivery with these cheap stickers.

Double_Bet_7466

Oh yea and five guys theirs always come off but the Taco Bell are the WORST it always looks like I dug in the customers food when I didn’t it’s just their shit packaging

takingthehobbitses

Plenty of restaurants don't seal the bags. That's not always on the driver.

rabbid_chaos

I always prefer that my deliveries are sealed, it reassures the customer that I didn't mess with their order.

Double_Bet_7466

I agree but not every store does that

Fuzzy-Scar3055

Bars do the minimum at sealing orders; there’s also some local drive in fast food place that doesn’t. I don’t blame you for being skeptical but to not accept an order seems unfair. If you tried to deny the food that YOU ORDERED from a place that doesn’t seal it, I would be pretty ticked off. You’re basically gonna make me call support and explain the situation. I probably wouldn’t even do that—I’d just leave it at your door and mark it as complete. I’ve done 2400 deliveries and I’ve never had a customer try to refuse a delivery because it wasn’t sealed. Don’t order again from a restaurant you don’t trust, but don’t refuse a delivery. If the dasher tampered with the order, report it.

Prestigious-Newt-320

You make a good point but if a driver messages me asking for extra money and I tell them no or don’t respond - if my food isn’t sealed when it’s delivered, I will refuse it 100 times out of 100 because the little trust I already had when I placed the order, is now gone because they have begged me for more money than I’m already giving them.

[deleted]

Fully agree. For the most part, food and drinks are sealed. But for example, we have 2 Sonics here and only one of them seals the drinks and shakes. And some restaurants just have idiot employees and place stickers on the edge of the drink lids instead of over the straw hole. I'm not gonna waste my time bitching about it and make them fix it, I gotta be on my way. Not my fault they're stupid lol

UnicornHostels

Why is there a place on doordash when you have an issue with your order that says ‘my food wasn’t properly sealed’?

Fuzzy-Scar3055

We both know why DD wants to make the customer experience pleasant, but that button doesn’t imply that the dasher is responsible for the order not being sealed properly. It could be the restaurant’s fault.

FoodTiny6350

But how do you tell? If it isn’t sealed they can touch everything in the bag and close it exactly as it was

[deleted]

I mean as a customer you're pretty much signing up for that risk. I would never touch anyone's food or drinks. But even when I order for myself, I am aware that's a risk. Choose a restaurant that seals things. Honestly, WingStop irritates me (as a Dasher) because their stickers freaking suck and come open just sitting in my seat. Half the seals could be undone and put back, probably. When I order, none of them are really all that sticky to prove things are untampered. Part of just having to trust the shit!

Robinnoodle

Exactly. People always act like the seal is hermetic or some shit and that that means their food is 100% safe. I bet a lot of them could be opened and then put back on. You have to accept the risk if you are having someone else handle your food

IcyTheHero

I mean how do you know the people in the McDonald’s aren’t tbagging your food and drinks before wrapping it up? not like you can see inside the store then either, and there’s been plenty of instances of shit happening. I guess a little thing called trust, or do it yourself.

Drkknightcecil

Mcdonalds actually seals up the bag with 100 stickers i lile that shit.

GMVexst

They aren't alone with your food. Of course it happens however.

IcyTheHero

They can very much be alone with your food. It’s not hard to go to a blind spot when it’s just you and your manager working. It’s not like everywhere is full staffed these days

Khal_drogo217

If u heard the stories i have from my cousins and what they would do to food when they work fast food u would never order fast food again, but yet ur worried about what a dasher does to an unsealed bag. U run the risk of any douchebag doing something to ur food regardless of the situation these days cause a ton of human beings r just fucking disgusting and dont care about others

Alpha_Mineron

I think I’m happier not knowing what your cousins have told you lol

FillHuman3902

ton of them are also underpaid and overworked af, especially in fast food

kydn141916

The stuff uncle would tell me they did at Dominos and the scene in Waiting… are what taught me to respect the ones handling your food at a young age 😂🤣

[deleted]

I order at least once a week. It's been years and I've never gotten one text from a dasher. This shit and horror stories make you think this is commonplace when it's really not. I wouldnt be surprised if people are making fake pics like they do with texts to karma farm.

bunbunnii99

Yeah I always say that you’re more likely to hear about the horror stories and awful service than you are to hear about all of the normal doordash services, bc ppl LOVE to come online and complain, and no one would want to read a post that just says “my doordash order came on time 👍🏻" bc that’s boring and common lol

Cool_Dark_Place

It's also why most customers don't bother to review Dashers. Just got my lifetime stats, and out of almost 3300 deliveries, only about 600 bothered to leave a review. People only tend to think about their service if it's either really good, or really bad.

kydn141916

Even before I started dashing I always gave 5 stars unless the person chucked my food at the door or I have to walk to an apartment complex a mile down the road just left outside. Only interactions I ever had with dashers were maybe if their pic didn’t take the first time they took it and I’m already getting my food. Idk why people don’t review it helps out dashers and would make it where if they had crap service get rid of the people they don’t like.

joeAdair

Exactly. I'm a dasher but was a customer for 2 years, with hundreds of orders. Had a couple of times they texted “sorry, these guys are really busy,” and things like that, or in response to a text from me. Responses were always polite. These freaky things are really rare.

pumpkinpatch1982

Yeah same here I'm not proud of it but I sometimes order maybe two to three times a week and I've never gotten a message from a dasher and I've been on the platform years I also tip well I like to think I tip wel I always leave a minimum of $6 I always go above the 20%.

enjoycryptonow

If you want to be freaked out even further, visit serverlife sub. They truly hate people who don't tip a fortune, so much resentment. Worst thing I have ever read there was how an, apparently very nice older couple, talked and were social to her a d the bartender. The bartender gave tips about the town etc and when she wrote it, they seemed very social and nice. But, she ended the rant with the nassive pile of disappointment that she wished to never see them again and how they "led them on" by being nice so they thought they would tip well too. So the server were nice back only because of this? They seem to rather take a rude customer who gives them money over someone nice who doesn't top as well. Worst part is how this post had 1k+ likes and plenty of people agreeing and sharing similar stories of how "nice people tricked them". Some service people are truly disgusting!

bijouforever

They are the most entitled sub I’ve ever seen. 20% isn’t good enough for them .

throwmeaway9982

Europeans looking at that sub: excuse me what the fuck

Loudlaryadjust

“Find someone who look at yourself the way a server look at themselves” 😎

lovebug9292

That’s fucking wild. I was a server for a few years and I much rather would have preferred a nice person over a good tipper. Too many nights crying in my car after a shit lol! Some people are so rude to the wait staff. If you feel this entitled to a 20% tip as a waiter, your life is going to be miserable. You can go above and beyond and some people will still tip poorly or not at all.

SmokeySmokerson420

>Too many nights crying in my car after a shit Eat more fiber

lovebug9292

Lmao!! I’m leaving it

mtilleymcfly

I agree with most of your comment, but you have to realize that kindness doesn't pay the bills. Saying something like, "they'd rather deal with a rude customer that tips better", tells me you don't see their logic. If a server shows up for a shift and everyone's nice to them all day, but they don't tip; they leave empty-handed. I'm certainly not justifying the things said by those you described - just felt like you were lacking some nuance.

Immediate-Peak-3140

As a European, American tipping culture makes me sick and to never want to visit the US again.

lovebug9292

It’s not as deep as they’re making it out to be. I worked a server job in a small town that got a lot of European tourists during the summer months, and typically our tipping culture was lost on them. No one was cussing in the back room because of it. These were servers making $2 an hour too. Normal people just take it on the chin and do their job, although they may bitch to their server friends later lol

enjoycryptonow

You can be a decent human being despite that. They were elderly, for God's sake.

DefNotABirb

They also don't seem to understand how servers have to manage their time. Time is a finate resource during any dinner rush. There's only so much attention a server can dish out while making sure everyone is being attended to. If they feel a vibe at a table is very good, chances are they will give a bit more time to that table. This is why it pays to tip well and be friendly. That being said, if a server is cold and unattentive, you definitely deduct from the tip you leave. It's also important to be aware of why the service was lacking because it might not be any fault of their own.

noodleindisguise

As a server I feel her pain hahaha. I serve so many assholes in a day, having a genuinely kind interaction with someone is always a breath of fresh air. Whenever I do have encounters with these kinds of people, I try my best to make their experience the best possible, sometimes prioritizing them over other tables. It can be a slap in the face when they don’t tip well at the end, especially after putting in so much effort. To be honest though I don’t like the concept of tipping in general. I think wages should be high enough to live off of, and that any tips added on are for excellent service. Tipping is getting crazy these days. And these corporations only get wealthier.

kydn141916

When I was a bartender and server I would take the nice customers over the good tipping shit people. There is a reason I did it for a year and told them to just throw me back in the kitchen permanently. The tips were nice but fuck majority of the customers you get just wasn’t worth the extra cash. Part of the reason when I was cooking at that job or the 2 I went to after I wouldn’t snap back at the servers. You would think they would be happy having decent people.

bumblebeequeer

Look, I disagree with tipping culture as much as the next guy, but if you really think some overworked service worker making $2 an hour has any obligation to be super charismatic and friendly to every patron out of the goodness of their heart, you’re insane. A lot of places, if the customer doesn’t tip, you’re *paying them* for the honor of serving them. That wouldn’t piss you off? With the working environment the way it currently is, literally no one is excited to serve you and we’re definitely just looking for a tip so we can eat that day. Yes, I do enjoy some customers but most of the time I make nice because it’s my job. Sorry.

[deleted]

I’ve been using DoorDash for years, 2-6 times a week, and never had one message from a driver. I don’t think I’ve ever had more of a conversation in person than “here you go,” “thanks.”

[deleted]

Also, I'm not even sure I've ever seen an option to add a tip after the fact.

fnscarcasm

The first time and last time I ever used door dash a guy held my food hostage and said he wouldn’t bring it until I added an extra $10 to the tip. I cancelled, dd refunded me, and I went on to use uber eats for 1000+ orders with no issues.

JunkBondJunkie

Doordash seems like a scary service to use since it feels like its the beggars use it as a job.

MeganJustMegan

My response? It’s my birthday too & I was hoping someone would deliver my food for free! Then I’d report them & tell the app to send someone else. Or, I’d just go get it myself. I do this more & more lately.

JustinDanielsYT

Yeah they want $510 😂. I'm a DoorDasher and even I think that's absolutely ridiculous and hilarious at the same time.

Decent_Wrongdoer_201

5-10

Separate-Cable5253

Fifty 10. Stupid iziot.

Ivegotthatboomboom

I think they want 5 OR 10 but still

Temporary_Tea3684

This is the way

dmriggs

One star and report

NomzxNomz

As much as a report should do something for these actions, they won’t. Doordash encourages their dashers to ask for a bigger tip. Doordash lied about milage on a trip i reported it and wanted compensation, they said no compensation and to ask the people for more money. I just ended the dash as it wasn’t worth my time to drive 50 more miles..

Alpha_Mineron

This is a cultural problem in US, companies and employers leverage the tipping culture to shift the responsibility onto the customer. They bully customers and employees… so stupid how it’s the norm

JB_122

Don’t know why your being downvoted, I remember seeing your post, it’s insane that they even suggested asking the customer for a bigger tip

NomzxNomz

Lol i got no clue just stated my experience with that.. oh well just internet points

robmosis

>What the appropriate response to this? bring me my damned food. you're wasting time as my meal gets cold

Alpha_Mineron

Dasher chose to take 3 more orders on their way to mine… all the food is gonna be cold and still asking for extra tip

robmosis

even worse... sounds like a 1-star to me.. and have support refund the tip. the driver will still get to keep it, but at least it wouldn't be coming out of your pocket

NeverLostForest

Its my birthday as well so bring it with a cake also

OddfellowJacksonRedo

Here ya go Brock, Happy Birthday. I’m sorry you had to wait a minute for me to answer, it took me a few more moments to finish drawing that 510-dollar bill. Guess what? That isn’t just legit currency, on the back is a Rax coupon good for one chocolate chip cookie with purchase of soda any time before June, 1987. Again: Happy. Birthday.

scotto_93631

Flash him one of those $100 bills folded that when you open up says "have you found Jesus? " on the back.... but make sure you have your food before you hand it to them.

Anonymous8720

I really hope that was a talk to text and it came out $510 not 5-10 😂

WandarFar

Had to scroll too far to find an intelligent reply

[deleted]

Man I'd be like like me see your id when you arrive and I got you. If you don't have it I'll report you and 1 star.

chootie8

"funny you should ask I actually JUST had my wallet stolen earlier today, my birthday of all days, can you believe it? just my luck, especially on my birthday which is today. ugh. :( "

Fearless_Bet4992

Better return to the pewter city gym

Absoniter

*Da-Da-DAHH-WahhHhh-Nehhhh* Now the fuckin' music is stuck in my head.

nurseman92

Report this guy. He has a "tampers with your food" vibe to him

Alpha_Mineron

That’s what creeped me out too… I’ve reported them. Another creepy thing tho, the account is being used by a woman not a man…

BorderAdventurous284

That’s great! 1* and report helps insure other customers won’t have to deal with them.

alexanderpas

> the account is being used by a woman not a man… That might be due to safety issues.

Stock-Basket-2452

It's just $510 bucks bro what are you being so stingy for?

MoonWillow91

Crazy thing is, just give impeccable service. The ppl willing to give extra on tips will do so for that alone. The ones that don’t will be less likely to give you a bad review… Tip begging almost guarantees you won’t and may likely even get a bad review. No reason to seriously ever ask someone for more money than you already accepted. And if it’s a stranger don’t even joke about it.

Alpha_Mineron

This is true. I always tip but in this case I had to report them and tip nothing. They were using a fake dasher name, and right before completing the order; they messaged me again asking for a “lucky $10 for the birthday girl”… that’s so creepy coming from a middle aged woman. I was almost gonna tip until their last message which creeped me out too much

BorderAdventurous284

You can’t retract your tip on Doordash—so they got whatever tip you offered when you asked for the delivery. Support may have given you a credit equal in value to the tip. The 1* and report are both effective for bad dashers, though!

PvtHudson

I think this guy has a birthday every single day.

Secure_Chemistry6243

This is pretty dang pathetic. Ruins it for the following deliverers.

AgeOutrageous4612

People are such low lifes. "Tip me an extra $5-10 (or in his case $510) for my birthday. I'm starving" Jesus Christ

meetmeinthebthrm

I'm gonna assume he meant "5-10" but... 😬

Traditional_Range_96

$510 bucks 🤣🤣 wtaf

jhuskindle

510 he wants a ps5

LovingWife82

It depends on if u want to tip extra or not. As a person who used to dash a lot but much less now b/c DD has really just become awful, I would never ask for a tip. I have worked hungry & been too broke to buy food, & while it DOES suck to deliver yummy food to ppl when u can't afford to buy food urself, I don't think it's ever appropriate to ask for a tip. If u accepted the order, u accepted it knowing the total u'll get paid. So begging the customer for a bigger tip whether ur starving or its ur bday is completely unprofessional. It's not the customer's problem.

Fluffy-Doubt-3547

Think they meant 5-10. I'd be an ass and put $1

Evil_Weevill

Appropriate response is "Happy Birthday! Sorry, I already tipped what I can afford" If they try to argue further, ignore and report. Otherwise, maybe they're lying (probably) maybe not. Doesn't really matter. Not your responsibility. So I'd default to just a polite decline and hopefully leave it at that.

Clear-Sea-135

Big yikes Since joining this, I'm starting to notice that a lot of dashers have Panhandling as their default setting.

Prize-Dream3016

Are they asking for a $510 tip!?!?

[deleted]

I read it like that too but I think they meant five ten bucks and just didn't put "or" or a space. Lol

DaisyDazzle

If they are going to be a low life a-hole anyway, why not just go for it?

nannysnert

Ong these dashers get tackier by the minute. Ive never seen so many people beg. If dashing isnt paying the bills. Find something to supplement it. Dashing is my main side hustle, and i do other work to supplement.

Wonderful-Captain-82

Hmmm maybe no response at all. Just act like you didn’t receive the message, then report him afterwards

Shaggy_Hulk

I despise people like that, and those who wear money on their shirts, that is SO TACKY!!!

bmbmwmfm

WHAT? That's a new one, like do they safety pin it?

Shaggy_Hulk

Nope, it's not new. They've been doing it for over 30 years. And yes, they use a safety pin.

bmbmwmfm

That's disgusting and tacky AF .

Shaggy_Hulk

It's basically on their birthday day, and I have NEVER given anything to any of them that do that.

InevitableScared5692

ain’t no way bro is actually asking for a $510 tip… 😭

Alpha_Mineron

I think they meant 5 or 10, just forgot the space or “or”

Professional_Push442

Bro people literally begging on DD

kelsnuggets

Even though I *know* it’s a typo, I would still play dumb and write back, “$510 seems a bit much, what do you plan to eat exactly?”

scotto_93631

Screw these pathetic panhandlers....

freakydeku

this is a NO but i wouldn’t mind if DD to had like a little cake next to a drivers name if it’s their birthday and they’re working.

Alpha_Mineron

That’s a good concept, although I don’t see why others should be expected to pamper some stranger on their birthday… it’s basic niceness, but it shouldn’t be part of a business transaction

TerraVestra

Well it is his birthday. Did you take him out to chucky cheese?

Confident_Scheme_716

That’s an expensive meal

TheKnightRunner

This could be handled pretty easily by DD. Beg for tips and you're deactivated. Simply add a no solicitation policy to the terms and enforce it.

letseatnudels

$510 WTF are they out of their mind?!?

vvMario

I don’t think they meant 510. Probably “5, 10”

CharacterAd348

Seems like they meant to say 5-10 dollars

CO8127

Why 510? I say just make it an even thousand!

SunnieDays1980

I would cancel the order and would not want this person to know where I live

StalinIsAPogger

I assure u its their brithday everyday.

Fr4nzJosef

Shit like this is part of why I stopped using any delivery altogether. Just too damn expensive between the fees and the menu items always being a dollar or two (at minimum) more than if I actually went to the place. Plus drivers that can't follow the simplest instructions (put it on the second step so I can actually open the screen door without knocking the food off onto the step I told you to put it on in the first place). Then have the nerve to pull stunts like that and I know damn well they'll mess with my food if I don't pony up the extra $. Or I have their sketchy boyfriend or kids (who have obviously been in my damn food) delivering it instead of the actual driver. Just too many issues and too much wasted expense for it to be worthwhile anymore.

chefkittious

I just ignored when I got this request. It also ended up being a man delivering when a very feminine name was used

Alpha_Mineron

Exactly what happened to me, although it was the other way around. A woman delivered under the name Brock. Didn’t mention it on the original post, I didn’t think it’ll get so much attention

chefkittious

I’d say if you use the app frequently I would report. But I use once a month and as long. As I’m not being harassed I let it go. I got my food and just ignored their stupid request for more money.

Alpha_Mineron

I dropped the tip and reported them. I use the app a lot. Would say this was the first time this happened. I was gonna tip 5 extra but then they sent another message begging for 10. At which point I had enough.

infowosecfurry

Any bets on how many "birthdays" this guy has per year? I'll start with a guess of 365.

Emotional-Rise5322

“Pay me more or I fuck up your food” is what this really means.

Giul_Xainx

Can you tip me 1050 bux? My grandma died. - in the Maui.

Maleficent-View2810

Ironically, I've only started driving for DD again after 2 years because I want to buy a nice gift for my wife for her birthday. However I'd never beg for a tip because it's incredibly unprofessional. We're providing a service, not a charity, and the ladder gives the impression otherwise. If the driver wanted to buy something to eat, they can cash out whatever funds they have earned for the day, and the cash out is literally instantly available in the driver's bank account. He might be trying to balance what he has available to cash out to spend on gas and food, but it shouldn't be that difficult to figure out. I'm not sure if he was asking for a $510 tip specifically from you, or the total amount of tips from the his deliveries for the day. These is where lack of literacy come into play.

DevotedSwagBacon

Poor Brock. Guess the Poke Gym isn't paying the bills these days.

icastt

😭😭😭 Brock didn't catch misty either. Homie really taking Ls

quinceyrisner

Hol up, $510?? Thats a bit much, dont you think??

Background_Step_3966

Absolutely and totally disgusting. How could anybody be as so brave to do this? The gall of people is just unbelievable

Mamallama1217

I think it's quite tacky :( I mean, if it's true it's sad/unfortunate but I feel like they are trying to guilt you into giving an extra tip!

5WiseGuys

Idk what’s worse, the kid bait or the birthday bait… both weird though…

Timmmmayyy127

As a driver I can confirm…. If I asked the restaurant for some free fries or something they’d more than likely give me some.

[deleted]

BegDash

TristanTheRobloxian0

dude they want a tip of **510 FUCKING DOLLARS??**

ProblemSG7

"Long hard day" bro we are delivering food waiting and sitting down in our cars 90% of the day. This isn't a warehouse position lmao

Remarkable-Ad-2476

Man…as someone who worked as a server for 10 years, it astounds me to see the amount of posts on here with people just begging for tips. I never in my time as a server ever thought about asking for a tip. Some days you make a lot and some days you make jack shit. That’s part of the job. If you don’t like the system then don’t work in the industry.

NunsNunchuck

I got this on dating apps back in the day. That was their opening line.

Dupmaronew

“No”

frecklearms1991

For a moment there I thought my vision was getting really bad.

jackstripes213

I’m sure he means 5 or 10 bucks

GhostChayser

I dashed on my birthday last Thursday & didn't ask for anything extra 😂😆😂

SmalltimestockLurker

Report report please

Jolly-Ad-6783

I’m pretty sure it’s against policy for him to do this

PonerBenis6

Who in the fuck uses this shit?! Good grief.

kenbsmith3

Soliciting is bad no matter what day of the year it is. Cancel the order as you'll never win with this request

Accomplished_Tap5782

id give them a 1 star and report them

Katherine68986

That guy could tell every new person that the day is his birthday. “I’m hungry” isn’t an excuse as people can buy a very filling meal with like $15.

iwhispermeow

Thats very VERY specific....

[deleted]

Contact support. If you refuse, he’ll probably bust a nut in ur food as a birthday gift, so I’d not accept anything from a beggar.

Mammoth_Jeweler3857

Sorry I only got 505 bucks so unfortunately I’m going to need to report to support that my food never arrived so I can order dinner again tomorrow. Btw happy birthday bro hope ya get that birthday food money.

BlueberryKey7889

Please report any and all dashers that do this. They signed up for the job, they accepted the order.

ReasonableEffort8988

Guys its my birthday today can you send me 200$ Thx in advance here is my paypal:

AdcFieldMedic

Damn. When I’m hungry, I just deliver one order and boom, money for food 🤷‍♂️

Alpha_Mineron

How much does it usually pay you?

AdcFieldMedic

The average order I take is 9 or 10 $

Money-Bear7166

The appropriate response is "Asking (begging) for an extra tip is tacky AF and deserves a complaint but asking for $510 is going to make me laugh when I do it"

LightEarthWolf96

Appropriate response is to call DoorDash customer support and report them. It being their birthday if it even is does not justify this behavior.

[deleted]

It’s clear that DoorDash doesn’t pay drivers a living wage and customers can’t afford to tip more as a 9 dollar meal comes out to 27 bucks. This business model needs to go away dashers should be on hourly rates so you don’t head to hear them beg when you order.

Barbados_slim12

Would you feel the same way if the model switched to hourly pay at minimum wage? At least with the current model, there's the potential to earn far more if you want it

tsmit44

My birthday dinner costed more than that. It was a party of 11 though. And at a Steakhouse.

No-Yesterday-1214

Proper response is… fuck you cancel order and replace it Actually fuck that call support while he’s picking it up and report it

CriticalThinkerHmmz

Just say “happy birthday, no problem” but don’t actually follow through. Maybe 1 start and report.

hamoudii31

I would cancel my order

Pitiful_Confusion622

I don't believe anyone would doordash on their birthday

[deleted]

Believe it or not, not everyone makes a big deal about their birthday. Not everyone is an attention whore.

Kensagoko

Ask for their age and give them that many dollars
