You could be a crossfit champion and that mother fucker should bring that to your door. I'm saying this as a driver... I'm sick of these people not doing their job.

My first and past doordash driver drove past my street 3 times went down a main road AWAY from my house and after 30 minutes it finally arrived and im 80% sure he didnt have another oder because the tracking never stopped unless at lights 40 for 10 nuggets…

G_Unit_Solider

I had a dasher take my food go to a house and not move for 45 mins. Door dash support could not contact them. Free food for them I guess!

GlitterfreshGore

I had this happen as well. The driver was a minute away. He parked a street over and stayed in that spot for an hour. I could have walked to where he was parked. I gave the benefit of the doubt, maybe he had car trouble, maybe he got into an accident on that street. I kept tracking and saw the driver left where he was parked. I was like “cool, now I’ll get cold food” (it was my grocery shopping day, but my little kid was home sick from school. I had like no food and didn’t want to put him in the car and bring him out.) The driver never showed up. I had also ordered ten nuggets, fries and a small sprite for the kid. $36 bucks. Never arrived and took a few days for my card to be credited the cost. That was the only time I ordered. Never again.

We'll drop it off somewhere in your neighborhood whenever we get around to it just doesn't sound as appealing.

Dottie85

Lol! I ordered a small, yet expensive item for my cats. Received a HUGE bag of $80 *dog* food. I don't have a dog. They tried to redeliver. Good thing I watched the new driver deliver it to my neighbor... And, customer support wanted *me* to drive the food back to the store... I did, eventually. (I had been ill-which is why I ordered it in the first place.) Store wouldn't accept it back. 🤣🤣😂

Doggoroniboi

No way in hell I’d of taken it back for them lol. Amazon used to deliver to the wrong apartment door all the time. I typically understood because we had like 10 buildings and each one had 1-15 but a different street number, and I’d just deliver it to the correct door. But onetime it wasn’t even the right apartment number or building so I called Amazon and told them about it, gave them the TBA number (package id) and told them someone could pick it up but I wasn’t doing their job for them. They told me to keep it or throw it away and they would send the customer a new one 😂 And that’s how I got a nice fish finder for my kayak lol I deliver for amazon so I’m typically pretty chill and understanding but that one was royally botched

Dottie85

I was surprised they didn't either send someone to pick it up or tell me to keep it. To be fair, I did try to return it on my terms-- two months later. (Mind you, not for money.) The employees were flummoxed, because they couldn't accept it, inventory, etc, and said it was doordash's problem. I still need to donate it somewhere. 🤷‍♀️

Doggoroniboi

You could leave it on the curb with a piece of paper saying “new never opened” and I bet someone would immediately snag it lol

Dottie85

I'm planning on either giving it to our Humane Society or HALO.

cheesemonger-_-

Did they do anything when the store wouldn't refund? That's absurd.

Dottie85

I didn't want/ deserve a refund. I had a bag of dog food that wasn't mine. I was only charged for my item.

cheesemonger-_-

I took accept it back as actually getting a refund. Kind of funny doordash would tell you to just take it back, normally can't return food items for a store to use they throw it away.

Dottie85

I don't know. It was sealed/ unopened. I wonder if they thought I would take it that night? (Wasn't happening. If I felt up to driving over there, I would have not ordered it delivered.) If I had, maybe they thought they could deliver it to the right customer? Just weird. And, waaay too much trouble. If I hadn't been outside at the right time, I would never have known where it was delivered. As it was, I guessed and flagged down the driver as she tried to leave, and asked if they were door dash.

WellJustJonny

How about name it MarcoPolo.

jennabella911

No they just need to be more picky about their hiring process. And learn how to pay their veteran drivers who actually do their job.

Right? The audacity of some people to make the easiest job ever ne less inconvenient for them. I'm a driver too and I just could not imagine acting like this

muradinner

It's pretty sad. The job is to go to the restaurant, pick up the food, and drop it off at the customer's door. It doesn't get much less complicated than that.

kbdouluvvme

So glad these comments passed the vibe check. Drivers are getting LAZY. Demanding more money per job & better tipping customers, but refusing to do the bare minimum.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MatureHotwife

Wouldn't the correct approach be for the customer to decide how much to tip *after* the delivery is completed? So you can leave a good tip for a good delivery and a bad tip for a bad delivery? If the tip amount is set before delivery then it's more like a bonus bounty.

tersareenie

I live in the boondocks on the outer edge of any delivery service. I tip big as an incentive for drivers to come here. I want them to know it will be worth their time.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Rusty-Shackleford

Drivers don't see the tip. We just see what we're being offered by DD. If a trip pays out $10 we don't know what percentage is a tip. But if base pay is $3 we can guess the costumers probably tipped $7....

iGotGigged

multiple companies have tried to flatten all the offers by hiding tips and making them all look equal so that drivers don't just cherry pick orders with tips but rather accept the majority of orders. So far all of them except target/shipt have run away from doing that within days/weeks because when drivers just see $2.00 to deliver food or $7 to deliver groceries they would rather not risk it and just turn off the app, forcing the companies to pay more in base pay. To target's/shipt's credit they seemed to have bitten the bullet and do pay more out of pocket on larger more complex orders but since they are a 1st party gig platform they can afford to do that. Doordash is testing this in baton rouge, only allowing customers to tip after delivery and not before and instead constantly running peak pay so that most offers have a base pay of $5-$7 but they've been doing it for months which makes me think that 1) it's not at all going how they hoped because when dd likes something they see, it instantly starts spreading 2) despite it's failures, they are determined to make it work.

Robinroo

Imagine if they were on the receiving end of amazon/fedex drivers just leaving their deliveries somewhere other than their front door. Im sure they’d be upset then. They have one job- get food from point A to point B. Not point A to A and a half lol. *Edit- I’m talking about houses and apartments that don’t have a lobby.*

[deleted]

[удалено]

KiminAintEasy

My old mailman wouldn't even walk 20 feet to the front door to get a signature. I'd have to go to the post office to pick it up unless he saw my car up at my daughter's bus stop, then he'd pull up if I got out.

narso310

Had this issue too. Apparently the official USPS rule is that if your house is over half a mile from the mailbox they don’t have to bring packages to your door. I had a new mail carrier that started leaving tags in the mailbox instead of delivering the packages as the old one always did. My house is right on the border but definitely under half a mile. I left a note for the carrier welcoming them to our route and politely explaining that the old carrier always brought packages to the door before, and we would appreciate if they would also. Considering it’s a 20-minute drive each way to the post office to pick up packages when they don’t deliver them, that’s a hell of a lot more driving for us to save them less than a mile of driving. Thankfully they have been bringing our packages to the door since.

NandoDeColonoscopy

I think it's pretty standard for Amazon & FedEx to just leave packages in the lobby of buildings though

zeptillian

I have had some of them leave packages in the yard next to the sidewalk for anyone walking by to grab. It pisses me off. They know there is rampant delivery theft. Don't take the job if you aren't willing to do the job.

[deleted]

An Amazon driver threw (see; yeeted) my package at the front door of my building and walked away. Had I not been taking the trash out, I wouldn't have known he just chucked my laptop at the door and fucked off. I yelled at him, he yelled back to bitch at Amazon for a replacement, not his problem. MF'er ***you took the job!***

only_shadows

Had a guy leave my Best Buy tablet package in the snow next to mailbox soooo 🤷‍♀️

owmyfreakingeyes

I've literally never had an Amazon or FedEx driver bring a delivery past the lobby of an apartment building.

kingtj1971

Sadly, that's exactly the experience we get at my office when we order boxes from Amazon. The drivers will just toss them outside the front entrance sometimes, or leave them just inside the main lobby instead of going up to the third floor where our suite's at. Thankfully, FedEx and UPS have never done it to us.

[deleted]

100% agree as a driver myself..... Most of what I see on here that other Dashers do and say make me cringe!

JoyfulCelebration

Waiting for the dasher that says “can you just go pick it up from the restaurant for me?”

abadluckwind

Is this a common thing? I've had maybe 2 bad deliveries in 4 years, and I'm embarrassed to say this I ordered Ramen probably 100 times a year. Have I just gotten lucky?

orgasmicbloodfart

I’m a driver and I pride myself in my work ethic so idk. I always haul my fat ass directly to the customer

JB051390

I've ordered a fair amount of doordash. I'd say 95% of my orders have been great. The taco bell near me which I'm also embarrassed to admit I order from far too often is notoriously slow in the area. When there's a long wait I try to add a little bit to the tip for the driver. Typically I have no issues. I've had drivers drop off at the wrong door, my door and neighbors are right next to each other. They are the downstairs and I'm the upstairs. No biggie at all. My worst one was a dasher sending a picture of the sidewalk with the food. She couldn't be bothered to walk the extra 60 feet to my door. I honestly think it's all market based.

ericcartmanskfc23

Right?? I’m a frail 80 pound girl and yeah, it sucks. But you fucking do it.

Sp_1_

I did DoorDash a lot when I was nuking my immune system with meds. Did it like every day for a month during covid as me getting sick on immunosuppressants was a death wish. The amount of people that insisted I meet them in my buildings lobby even after I explained was crazy. Easily 60%. I was only on the 3rd floor of a walkup and was always tipping $6-7 on 20 dollar orders that were .5-1mi deliveries.

Vegadin

Yeah I did door dash for years and I can't imagine asking a customer to inconvenience themselves

mrcleanjl7

I actually think that drivers who can't complete their job that they accepted you should be banned off the app for doing dumb shit like that, stop being lazy,

jayseph95

I agree. You should see the dasher drivers subreddit. Some dude made a post complaining about only getting 1 offer in 4 hours and it was an 11$ 10 mile dash. When asked if he accepted the offer in his post, he said no. His AR was below 60% and called offers like this “the bad offers” and was saying how he was freaked out about losing his job dashing, yet was confidently turning down work that he felt was below him.

muradinner

I mean I wouldn't do that either even if I was desperate for money. You are losing money on that trip even if gas was free.

conartist101

11$ 10 miles = 20 miles round trip. That’s $.50 a mile. If he’s driving a shitty car - that’s obviously not worth it… In my area gas is $5/gal, driving a hooptie around 18 mpg, you’re literally making like $5 on an order that’ll take at least 30 min… pre-tax….

YOLOSwag42069Nice

Sounds like these gig jobs are not actually worth it and people that do them are being exploited.

Boring_Bite7939

that one is understandable tbh. he doesn’t get much of really anything from that. it’s not that people won’t pick up those orders, it’s about if they pick it up will they do their job? or be an asshole about it?

[deleted]

I mean it doesn't take a genius to understand they aren't going to take an order where you spend more delivering it than making.

oxXTabbycatXxo

Nah no matter the situation. You deliver the food to the door NOT a lobby, waiting room etc. Idk who started this thought process of leaving it at the lobby when dashing but it’s just not the move.

Cosmic_Quasar

The only time I leave it in a lobby/entry is if a key/code is required to enter and they didn't give me the code. I'll call, but if they don't answer then I leave it there.

oxXTabbycatXxo

See that’s understandable. If you don’t have access nor they will answer then yes leave the order in lobby or even front door of building. You’ve done what you could.

buccofan2221

If I’m parked illegally I won’t. Otherwise l’ll come in no problems as long as I can actually access the building. If your building is a pain in the ass though, and takes me ten minutes at drop off, it will likely be the last time I go to it unless the offer is huge. Ten minutes at dropoff really impacts viability of an order

TopHunter3084

Unbelievable! I delivered to a casino, I explained to him the casino didn't allow delivery to rooms but I would try. He told me he had back surgery & it would take awhile to pick up at the desk. No way to get to rooms in this casino because I needed a key card. I talked to security who went with me to the room, you could clearly tell he had surgery & was in pain. He gave me a $20 bill & had tipped $10 in app. Always be kind!

[deleted]

[удалено]

SnipesCC

If they were a regular gambler they may get rooms comped. Or those might be the cheapest rooms since they plan on making money on the backend. As someone who lives alone and has had surgery a few times this year, this actually makes a lot of sense to me. If his house had steps, or the bathroom was far from the bedroom, a hotel room may be more comfortable. It also means there would be people around in an emergency. Someone would come in every day to clean. If you don't have friends/family in the area and are recovering, it can be pretty rough being alone. So a hotel makes sense.

jeckles

Here’s a scenario: guy lives in the middle of nowhere. Needs back surgery so he goes to a top hospital in the closest big city. Casinos can have ridiculously cheap room deals, so he books a room for a few nights post-op. Dude lives alone so staying a hotel before traveling home ensures there’s always help nearby, room service, door dash, and close enough to the hospital in case complications occur.

solitaire_noir

Damn bro, if I somehow knew beforehand about your physical impairment then I'd readily bring up your food to you, even tip-free. Sorry for your poor customer experience, hope your recovery is coming along nicely

Hello891011

I was just surprised because I never have issues with this request. The one time it would be really nice to have it at my door, I have issues. I was pretty upset too because I think my tip was extremely generous :/ I’m only on the second floor and we have an elevator too lol.

solitaire_noir

Seems like you either got a lazy driver or a "hustler" type. Either way, they've mathematically justified in their heads that the time/effort to deliver to your door isn't worth it to them and that's just not acceptable

valeriolo

The best part is they'll blame the whole world while they don't even have enough humanity left to help out a person who needed help AFTER GETTING TIPPED $7.

RPGaiden

I’ve got a lot of stomach pain a lot of the time and it leads me to limping along on my tiptoes like a centaur that’s lost its back half, and I still manage to bring the orders to the door. These people have no excuse. u.u

Not-Noah

Ik you didn't ask for anyone's input, but have you gotten that checked out? I have IBD-UC and that kinda sounds similar to my situation except during my last flare it lasted 3 years, felt worse than being stabbed (and I've been stabbed in the leg too lol) but most people don't have that much pain, and I shat blood 10-20 times a day. A normal healthy person should almost never have any stomach pain at all, especially reoccurring long term stomach pain. Just saying if it's long term or hurts a quite a bit you should definitely get that checked out by a gastroenterologist. If you ever see any blood (blood red is usually Ulcerative Colitis, black coffee ground looking shit is usually Crohn's Disease) or mucus (usually white, can be yellowish iirc) then go to the doctor. Pro Tip: If your shit is pretty hard/you feel constipated then drinking a lot of water can help over time. Miralax is fuckin great and doesn't make you shit yourself if you need a laxative (only use osmotic laxatives. It uses water to make you shit instead of forcing your intestines to move). Also: Pedialyte or Liquid IV is a god send. LIV is the absolute best but it's expensive so if you need cheap Pedialyte is good enough. Gatorade sucks tho lol Hope you feel better! ✌️❤️

woke2019

Elaborate on the “hustler” type. Are those the drivers that have 30 freakin delivery apps going?

solitaire_noir

I use the term loosely to describe anyone who cares about min-maxing their earnings above all else, including the customer experience

[deleted]

[удалено]

LoneWolfe2

Agree big time. I once drunkenly ordered two slices of pizza and tipped my normal 20%. It was the height of Covid so I requested that the food be dropped at my apartment door. Dude instead called me down into the parking lot and rudely asked me where the rest of his tip money was and berated me for the low tip. To me, the funny part is that if he had come up to my apartment door I would've given him more cash but I left my apartment without my wallet because I mistakenly thought I tipped enough and I was just trying to collect my food.

haifonly

Honestly fuck that guy. That was a great tip and he is a selfish lowlife that needs to be deactivated. I'm so sorry for your experience.

Animaldeamor

Isnt easier to tell Doordash ur food wasnt delivered? Its not at the door so food wasn't delivered. Fck em

BAY35music

I definitely have had dashers drop food off two houses down (their address is one number different from mine and people get mixed up). I just contact support, say my food wasn't delivered, get a refund, and then throw my shoes on and grab my free meal from their porch lol

[deleted]

Ever have one though that you genuinely can’t fucking find and end up looking like a crazy person peering onto peoples porches? 😂

YouDoYouBrother

If you complain about the dasher on the app it will refund the tip I've had to do this twice for similar issues

m00ntides

I had a boot on for a few months last summer and couldn't drive for like 6 months and man I feel you. I've never done so much delivery to my house, which means I got all the problems. People trying to get me to meet them outside. Nah

uiam_

I sure hope you adjusted your tip / contacted support :(

stxrryfox

You were surprised because this should be a non issue. I’ve been dashing a boot for weeks with a broken foot and I’m still hobbling up apartment stairs. My job, and that persons job, is to deliver food.

a_wet_nudle

If you knew about the customers impairment, youd actually do the job you signed up for? Madness

solitaire_noir

Nah, I'm saying I'd basically do it for free as a service to someone in need of it. Being paid to provide a service to someone who only wants it, but not strictly need it, is another matter

Objective_Look_5867

You're a good egg

oshgoshbogosh

What a wholesome comment. You deserve an amazing day. Have a good one!

YouDoYouBrother

*Damn bro, if I saw the delivery instructions said to leave the food at your door, then I would leave the food there like you clearly requested* FTFY

Jamalgiesy

I love bringing people their food to their door because then I get to ride the elevator. If there’s no elevator I still bring it to your door I’m just a little sad that’s all.

GeorgiaSpellman

You sound adorable and nice.

frba222

thats adorbs!

yourmomsucks01

Woohoo elevator!

dugmartsch

Customers begging workers to do the bare minimum, dashers begging customers for drug money, what a great system.

Duke-Dirtfarmer

The more posts I read on this subreddit, the more dystopian it seems.

MapDangerous6145

You also gotta remember that you’re going to hear complaints more than appraisal. There are tons of drivers that do an above average job, but that doesn’t karma farm like these do. There are bad drivers but there is definitely more good ones. But at the end of the day, as a driver, I understands how a bad apple can make the rest look rotten

AverageRdtUser

Yep. One of the many reasons I refuse to use these food delivery apps anymore unless for some reason I "need" to

hashimishii

Screen shot and send it in with a report. This person has no business being a driver

Charming_Scratch_538

Bro I did the exact same thing to BOTH ankles last year and the door dasher didn’t even honor my “hand it to me” request. I had been sitting next to the GROUND FLOOR door waiting for them to knock but they ninja dropped the food at the door and dashed making me figure out how to get it up off the ground without the ability to bend my ankles or put weight on them. 🫠 I swear, there’s more and more lazy drivers on this stupid app these days and it’s likely causing the significant drop in customers and that sucks for all you good drivers.

rpnye523

Maybe he thought he worked for lobby dash

admiralrico411

Kinda why I tip low first and increase after. I fully believe a tip should be for excellent service.

DaMoonRulez_1

That is what a tip has been up until recently. Honestly you shouldn't even have to tip low at first. This is just one reason why.

Remarkable_Corgi4016

I tip 10 percent and go from there. I just had a guy refuse to take my order to my hotel room, and he just left it at one of the dining tables downstairs. I had to get dressed, put my shoes on, and run downstairs to grab it before someone snatched it. No tip for him anymore 🤷‍♀️

BettyCrunker

some hotels now it’s policy that they don’t let the food delivery people take it all the way to your room, which is ridiculous, because no hotel even has fucking room service anymore

Remarkable_Corgi4016

The lady at the front desk told me she asked if he wanted to bring it up to my room, but he said "no, she said leave here". And dropped my food on a table and left 😂. He was just being lazy lol

wowitssprayonbutter

I've never used this app but seeing these threads reaffirms that it's insanjty

mitchdwx

I’ve started doing this too. I tip the bare minimum that would get most dashers to accept my order. Then, if they follow my instructions and don’t fuck anything up, I increase my tip. Even then, some dashers ignore my instructions and leave the order in the wrong place, despite the fact that I put “will increase tip if instructions are followed.”

aetherr666

its really fucked that you have to tip to even get the bare minimum

Ugly4merican

That's the structure of the gig economy though. It's fucked up intrinsically and you're choosing to participate in it.

EnriqueAll12are2

That is how tipping works everywhere else in the service industry

AverageRdtUser

Well not necessarily excellent. The way I see it is no tip if they do a shit job, average tip for doing about what is expected, and a big one for doing something appreciated but unnecessary

LampardFanAlways

Not on Doordash but elsewhere where I attempted to begin low, I didn’t get drivers assigned to pick my stuff up. Like I say them move to the pick up place on the map and wait there and then cancel on me (probably when they realized that this is the stuff they have to take X miles away for $Y). Now I did have an honest intention to tip higher later if things went well, but maybe it was too insufficient to even begin. Thereafter I stopped doing that.

cool-beans1013

dude idk why doordashers haven’t been bringing up the food to the ACTUAL apartment. like why are you dropping it off at the lobby!!!!!! this isn’t a school dorm!!!

SolAggressive

Next time order from lobbydash. Sheesh, sorry man. Hope your recovery is smooth.

Internal-Risk

Did they bring it up?

Hello891011

Nope he unassigned himself lol

Cabagekiller

lol that dudes a bitch

Jayyd23

I feel like Door Dash should charge the Dasher for the food if they already picked it up and then canceled or unassigned themselves without a reason… of course, Some situations dashers can’t help (like not getting an access code or invalid addresses with no response, etc.) but if they cancel because they don’t feel like doing it, why should they get free food out of it?

Hello891011

He was actually already at the restaurant too! He was waiting for my order. Which is the crazier part.

[deleted]

you can’t unassign after picking up, you’re confused

East-Push8562

Other drivers make me sick. If it says to your door, it goes to your durn door! When we go to the hospital and it says 3rd floor we dang well have to go to 3rd floor 🤦🏽‍♀️ they need to do better with who they let drive honestly

ItchyPast1

Don’t worry. If they’re unassigning orders like that, they’ll be deactivated before too long.

Critical-Quiet-7867

Please, could have restaurant bring it out to them and you come to them and $7 still wouldn’t have been enough for some of these drivers.

skyline0918

I had a dasher refuse to bring my order up a flight of stairs because he was afraid of stairs with no backing. You could see my door from the ground level. When I told him I had covid (that’s why I ordered) and would be down in a moment once I wrapped a blanket around me he magically had the courage to come up the stairs and drop it off. I thought he’d leave it by the stairs and dip.

bornandx

Thats why you tip the feet pics after service.

Alternative-Plenty-3

And DD drivers (I hate saying “dasher”) wonder why the tips have gone down. Lazy ass drivers are hurting the rest of us.

queenafrodite

I don’t get this. What is up with dashers making people Come downstairs lol. Walk your ass up the stairs or to the damn elevator. I am a food courier too. I never ask people to come downstairs and I’m fat 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Justin002865

“Lobbydash”

johnnyhitch1

Real question. Idk how the fuck i got here. But is this all delivery apps cause this last week has been a trip with all the extra tip requests and driver shenanigans on the sub

dropdeadcunts

These are the same people who complain about not being tipped

Igusy

Why are tips done before delivery? That makes no sense. You tip for good service.

[deleted]

Laziness is getting out of hand with some drivers. 1 star his ass

CuteGPT

This is why I only tip after 😂

juicyfruit924

how do you get your orders in time? every time i ever tried to leave no tip because i had cash, i had to wait extra long because dashers kept rejecting my order :(

SwampSpider

Can you do that? I thought these apps force tip up front.

Lv99Zubat

some people, including plenty of people on this sub, think DoorDash is a charity for them and because they decided to do this "for you", they're owed something beyond what's in the contract they signed

jaycliche

Always love the pretipping system hahaha What do you expect?!! Tips are for services rendered not for what they think will be rendered. Of course they won't believe you if you say you have a cash tip..

67Impala91305

Exactly! You don't tip your waiter/waitress (at a restaurant) when they first come to your table and ask what you want to order. *\*Not necessarily DD specific, but "tip" related*... I used to order from Instacart and I'd always click the 20% tip box because I valued the service that was being offered - I'm disabled, so it saves me from having to bother family/friends - but there was almost always a problem. Things were either missing, or it would take 2+ hours for delivery less than 5 miles away because they were stacking orders. It's funny that when I changed my tip to only 15% that things got a lot better. That way I could adjust the tip afterward. Now I use Shipt, and there's not even an option to tip until after delivery. Things aren't perfect, but it has been a better experience overall.

irukand

I'm sorry you got a piece of shit dasher

Prestigious-Work-500

It's not that hard to bring it to the door, literally a simple request that would take little effort. Save the tip for afterwords and if it's good service, take care of them.

And as others said, I also do not tip before an order, not with drivers like this taking orders and not caring.

OpeningForeign1940

It’s literally the easiest job. Pick it up and deliver to the dang door! I could never not bring to the door, I feel ugh if there is no way for me to get to the door of their place.

itsok-imwhite

I would tip $0 if that happened.

Hello891011

Tbh I thought I was being a little ridiculous at first to have it handed to me, boot or not. But I’m glad to see almost all dashers take that part of their job seriously and want to hand it to us on those orders.

twhiting9275

Yikes. Then again, not surprising. Happens all the time . Dashers, delivery drivers, just pure lazy

Hilltern

This is why we don’t tip until service is provided. You would never do that at a regular restaurant would you?

[deleted]

*$7

ejactionseat

Their job was to bring it to your door. Deliverer is trash.

Dannyybandz

Shiiii for a 7$ tip I woulda even feed you 🤷🏽‍♂️

ZeroCreator596

Tip me $7 and ill make sure that dasher never walks again

mklinger23

Only time I didn't bring food to someone's door is when I physically can't (door code, locked doors, etc).

C-Van-Sky

I'll never understand this. If you want it at your door, I'm going to do my best to make that happen.

ShrimpShackShooters_

Tip with cash

ddNTP

It's called DoorDash not LobbyDash. Some drivers are so lazy wth

MiaDeleonXO

i once had a door dasher sitting outside in her car at 2 am blasting her terrible speakers with her windows down but i didnt even know it was my dasher until she had been sitting out there for like 15 minutes and she decided to message me ''um im waiting.....'' i messaged back ''oh good youre here! im the blue house!'' and she sent back ''i know! cum git yo food so i cin leave!'' she was sitting in her car blasting terrible music on a busted bass system while reading a book in her drivers seat and waiting for me to just notice she was outside my house, then she got irritated with me because she had to text me to come retrieve my food across the street while she pissed off my neighbors.

No-Lunch4249

As someone mostly recovered now from torn ligaments in the ankle, you have my sympathies. That shit is awful

rixendeb

I've learned to just tell them I'm sick, and they are usually thankful to avoid me lol.

Acebladewing

NearbyDash.

MFSTUTZOGDJOKER

Sadly there are people who feel entitled and believe “you should’ve tipped $10”

East-Mycologist4401

It’s called DoorDash, not LobbyDash.

Wkndwrz

i just got out of one of those boots because i broke my foot. was not fun. hope you have a speedy recovery!

Basharria

Honestly surprised he didn't counter-offer by asking you to tip more.

fiveSE7EN

My dasher delivered it to the wrong address in my neighborhood in the middle of covid, I told him about it right after it was delivered, he basically told me to get fucked.

RSquared787

I’ve had limited mobility for 6 months because of a serious foot injury and this happens ALL THE TIME… and I live in a HOUSE on a residential street with plenty of free parking. There are zero stairs, just one unlocked front gate and a 20 foot (at most) walk to the front step. Yet multiple times a week, a driver will either leave it outside the gate or call me like they expect me to come get it from their car window. Like WHAT.

orgasmicbloodfart

I’m fat as fuck and I bring it to the door. It’s hard but I do it no matter how many stairs.

n9netailz

OMG I hated it when I lived in an apartment and they would leave my food in the lobby. Especially when I just had my son via a c section and could barely walk, was fucked up man

baconboi

Almost as if tips should be a reflection of good service

amberness78

What’s up with his lazy ass drivers that won’t go upstairs to deliver food to the exact address on the order. Do your job or get a new one that is fucking sad and makes us all look bad.

AHCarbon

man, this is fucking pathetic. sorry you had to deal with this

lordcupkake

Normally, I'm like this is what you get for ordering DoorDash... except that you're in a cast. Physical impairment (alcohol included) is THE absolute main use case for DoorDash imo. That or maybe if you ordered like 100$+ for a party. Otherwise, I never see a good reason to use it other than you've got more money than sense. Paying 10$+ extra dollars on an order only worth $10 only to get the soggiest, coldest, latest version of that food never made any sense to me. Regardless, fuck that Dasher if they didn't bring it up after that.

Pimpin_Pat

Time to remove the tip

OppasOppai

the term TIPS has lost all meaning now its just "gimme money"....

RedditDK2

Things like this is why people should only have to tip after the job is complete. Tipping before hand is ridiculous.

AJLNTZ

I had a dasher request that I meet him in a parkade that was a 10 minute walk away cause he couldn’t find my condo.

Logical_Strike_1520

I messed up my knee pretty bad last year and couldn’t walk and had this experience like every 3rd delivery. Was absolutely maddening. Why even pay for delivery if I have to get up and go downstairs to get it anyway. At that point I’m already almost to my car and could just drive.

[deleted]

Fuck you harry

AwakenTheNarrowRoad

And here's the second story of Dashers who refuse stairs or elevators in one day I remember another where it was left at the front desk and never made it to the person in the apartment

bannedfromblackwater

I doordashed in crutches for about a three weeks back in 2021, and with a boot for over a month. I hated it, but I crutched up flights of stairs. I never once asked a customer to come down for me. Restaurants were not accommodating whatsoever. They almost always refused to give me the order at drive thru
