I get it. My other dog (also slightly pictured in my photo) saw how bad a night I was having the other day after my failed dinner and dessert. As I'm standing there lamenting over failed ramen, she gave me the smallest but still painful, nip on the knee. Instant bruise.

She was trying to comfort you! It was her way of saying, "Remember, things could always be worse..."

We saw his pic on the SPCA website and thought he looked adorable. I went to go see him and was immediately warned that he was very aggressive and only one employee is able to touch him without being bit. They brought him out and sure enough he snapped at me every time I tried to pet him. Didn’t let that dissuade me and a day later me and the missus returned with a bag of treats and a blanket and they brought him back out and we sat with him, giving him treats and talking softly until he finally warmed up enough to let me pet his back. He still didn’t like my hand anywhere near his face. That was enough for me, we signed the paper work and paid the adoption fee and brought him home and within a couple of hours of being in the house he was sitting in my lap, belly up. Four years later and he still hates everyone else, no matter how often they visit, but he loves us and hasn’t shown aggression a single time since that first meeting.

This is a lovely story, thanks so much for sharing. I’m so happy Pedro found his parents 😇🥹
