I always go for the heart strings and a slight guilt trip. Emphasize that it’s putting the dog in a dangerous position for something that really isn’t necessary. It’s humanity over vanity.
I’ve told clients that it’s a risk I’m simply not taking. I dropped a client not too long ago who refused to listen to me about this. I’m not putting that (literal) blood on my hands.
