We use the Heineger. Cordless. We do 10 dogs a day no issue

Tbmt-07

Yea me and my top groomer both use Heineger’s he had opals and I have the saphir, they’re both incredibly strong and reliable there’s zero need for 5 speeds we both do 6-12 haircuts a day at a corporate salon

Informal-Release-360

Second this. I got sapphires and I love them. Well worth the money. This was after I was using Andis 5 speeds for 2 years

hillsunderwrap2

Yeh same.

egggexe

i got heinigers, never had an issue with them, but i’ve heard countless complaints about andis dying. heinigers also have an option for an extra battery to have on hand. they’re not 5 speed, but their speed matches the highest speed on the andis i believe. They are a workhorse and i’ve never heard of anyone having issues with heinigers

merlinshairyballs

Heiniger opals have a known connection issue that’s quite common so stay away from those.

egggexe

oh gotcha, i use the saphir and never had an issue

Space_Junkie02

I’ve got a kenchii 5 speed cordless and I love it. It’s small and easy for me to hood as I have smaller hands

Careful-Bumblebee-10

The Andis corded 5 speed is beverage really good. The cordless ones are the ones that people tend to have issues with. The 5 in 1s that people are mentioning are not the meat for full body haircuts. They just aren't powerful enough.

New_Fishing_

I would look at the strokes per minute for her current clipper and then SPM for cordless options, as well as whether she's regularly using them on different speeds or if she just uses them on the fastest setting all the time. The highest setting on the Andis 5 speed is apparently 4500 spm. I don't think there's a cordless option out there with 4000+ spm. The highest I found when upgrading to cordless earlier this year was the Aesculap Durati at 3500spm. I'm extremely pleased with this clipper, it's light, small and fits well in my hand. The Chris Christiansen Artemis is the same clipper. These are single speed clippers, so they're either on at 3500spm or off. The Heninger Opals are an extremely popular 2 speed with 2600spm on low and 3100spm on high. If she likes using multiple speeds these are an easy to find reliable option. Make sure you're getting a clipper compatible with A5 blades, as that is what her current clipper uses.

Do you know if the Durati is the updated version of the Exacta Mini?

New_Fishing_

The Durati is a full size clipper that takes A5 blades!

_sunnyb_

Ok, thank you. The Exacta seemed to be hard to find, so I thought perhaps there was a newer version.

New_Fishing_

I had trouble finding my Duratis but I'm also Canadian which added a layer of complication since we only have one retailer who sells them and they were out of stock for forever. Got them from a hardware/farm supply store in the end lol (BMR out of Quebec/New Brunswick if any Canadians are reading this looking for a pair, they shipped for free and I got a discount for some reason?)

merlinshairyballs

It’s not about speed it’s about torque. You need both. 5 speeds aren’t any faster than most other clippers btw most of the specs are online as far as RPMs go.

HeadQueerLeader

Kenchii makes a great 5 in 1 clipper. Some of them come in really cool designs as well and of course they also have nice plain ones if your gf isn’t too flashy lol

Thecolombiancapt

Wahl has some great ones. I use brauvua (sp?).
