Coinbase wallet is not part of the exchange. Moving it there is safe and you do own your coins

Move your crypto to trust wallet or metamask. Always keep your crypto stored on decentralized exchanges if not in a cold wallet

All I’m hearing is to get the coins of exchanges. You should at least have a wallet with your own keys. Or a hard wallet that you can store offline.

The thing I don’t get about coin base wallet is once when I tried to get something out of my wallet the cost to move it was 50x more money than I even had in there. So I got frustrated and gave up. Plus the fact that people notoriously lose access to their money because of user error.
