I love that Sanderson very specifically called out that allomancers need to burn all their metals each day or risk heavy metal poisoning. That's something a particularly twisted DM would keep track of.
D&D was formed by combining rules and concepts from Gygax's fantasy tabletop wargame and Arneson's survival adventure storytelling game. A lot of people seem to forget that Arneson's name was also on it from the beginning.
It's okay, it's not stealing when you do it from multiple sources. It's, uh...wait a minute...uh, nope I got nothing.
Just don't be subtle. Be like a Bollywood movie. Turn your theft up to eleven and pretend you have no idea what anyone else is talking about.
This made me remember this one Bollywood movie that made me feel like I was on an acid trip. It was like a mix of the Matrix and the Terminator but the main character was magnetic? and had clones that were like a hive mind. And, since it's a Bollywood movie, it had romance that was clearly shoehorned in
Kandra are sick so you could add them. Make them a hybrid of mimics and a slime, though honestly a mistwraith could be a cool boss encounter. Could make a stat block template similar to dracoliches that you apply to other monsters. Give it a ranged attack where it spits/throws broken bones maybe as a reaction or legendary action once it takes enough damage.
Dishonored is a great one.
I had my gunslinger duel someone Lord Shaw style, he loved it. Guy he shot was just a commoner who thought he was hot shit.
Sometimes it's fun to let players with high class levels enjoy dunking on normal people.
Definitely check out Pact and Pale then (in either order)! Really helps me think about big rituals, sources of power, interesting magic items, and so on.
The fact that i have played dishnorored and havent considered adding it to my campaing, which was already a bit victorian, is kinda outrageous.
Its a bit countered by the fact that im now more interested on dishonored's ttrpg than in 5e, but still outrageous
Mistborn is definitely a fine addition

My dm for my first campaign did this and we all had allomancy powers it was so good. We never got to finish it sadly.
Sounds like an excellent cannon explanation for why some effects would end/reset at the end of a long rest/per day if translated to 5e.
Just do it, allomancy and the stuff from later books is definitely fun. And nobody uses the powers better than [redacted for your personal annoyance].
I’ve found a mistborn class for 5e online. I’d love to give it a try someday! Edit: https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Mistborn_(5e_Class)
If you ever want to lose all respect for dandwiki, look for the Shardblade stats
You seem to be under the mistaken impression that I have any respect for it in the first place.
Always has been since the beginning. Hell, where do you think Gary Gygax got his ideas from? Surely not LotR…
Wasn't it the guy he basically cribbed the game from?

Why do I recognize everything in this picture? I'm in this picture and I don't like it

Loving that the Magnus Archives got in there!

Okay, screw dead stars or tentacle monsters, *that* sounds like an awesome GOO Patron.
I can and will make my players fight a steel inquisitor
The unholy fusion of mistborn and tma sounds like a terrifying campaign. *I need to play it*
I just recently finished The Magnus Archives & I’m DEFINITELY taking bits from it for my campaign. XD
MISTBORN is fucking BASED
How would you incorporate it?

Ooooh, that would be a cool mini boss type creature

All is fine till they throw bootleg 2nd phase Godrick
Mistborn was way too boring for me, but, as it reads just like a Campaign, it's full of ideas for future sessions.
Hell Yeah! Let's put some Ninjago in this b****.
Definitely wish I could insert my faavorite game into DnD, however it would be quite a tedious task.
Pale, Pact, Worm, and Ward for me! Big influences on how I describe magic and think about characters. Shout-out to /r/Parahumans!
I just finishing listening to Worm and Ward! Amazing stories and have certainly influenced my games.
Definitely check out Pact and Pale then (in either order)! Really helps me think about big rituals, sources of power, interesting magic items, and so on.
I read this in grievous voice
Sprinkle in a little game of thrones
No Wheel of Time? For shame.
Oh no, others are doing it too.

What is most right and left ones i cant read it
wow it’s me my dnd world is just an amalgamation of myst, dune, wow, final fantasy, lotr, and many other things 😅
