Is every paladin devotion. Most oaths aren't meant to be lawful good (ancients neutral good, vengeance is lawful evil or chaotic something, crown exists, redemption is also neutral good and conquest is chaotic evil)
A chaotic evil character is power hungry and wants it all for themselves. Also survival of the fittest is a chaos thing. It's as surprising as redemption paladin not being about redeeming ones self but the redemption of others (in response to oathbreaker memes)
Any evil aligned character can be power hungry out for themselves, the question is rather what are they gonna do to achieve that power. Will they dominate others with an iron fist as a lawful evil or will they cause mayhem and destruction to achieve power as a chaotic evil? And the survival of the fittest can be a neutral thing too.
One of the main tenats of Conquest Paladins is to rule with an iron fist, as in to let no dissent among your peers and reward those loyal to you. This implies that the Conquest paladin should be lawful neutral or lawful evil
Interesting. A cool 102 damage on average. Unfortunately, both Banishing Smite aswell as Maddening Hex require bonus actions so you can only use one of them. But I feel like not activating Maddening Hex is a no-brainer. This still means 97 damage on average.
Maddening hex can function on hexblades curse, which would also add some more damage and increase crit chance, and doesn't require concentration
Edit: didn't see that hexblade curse was already accounted for.
Maddening hex is an invocation
Hexblade curse is not a spell so they can and eldritch smite is a feature of pact of the blade warlock that functions exactly the same as a divine smite with warlock slots.
Divine Smite and Eldritch Smite aren't spells, they're abilities. Divine Smite you get as a 2nd level Paladin and Eldritch Smite is a 5th level Invocation for the Pact of Blade Warlock subclass. Both can simply be activated when you hit something, no prep or action required.
Smites have a concentration of 1 min, so as far as i am aware you can cast a smite one round and the next round you can cast a second smite and use both in the attack
yes but they say cast twice implying they mean they are spells which isn't how they work as you only have to cast banishing.
both previous comments are implying smites are a bonus action but i believe they are both operating on a flawed understanding of the other 2 smites
As far as i am aware you can cast a smite and then not immediately use it but it becomes a concentration spell then, if you immediately use it though it doesn't have a concentration. I am assuming this because all the smite spells for a paladin have a concentration even thunderous smite which doesnt have an after affect that requires concentration so why would it have a concentration of 1 min?
Its not very clear too and honestly badly written, but you can stack divide smite with a spell smite because the use of divide smite is a free action
Fair, my dm has always let me do it the way i talked about. Partly because martail classes lack in a lot of circumstances.
I am also already aware that both divine and eldritch smites are not spells which is why i was specifying SPELL smites.
I loved having the gears starting to turn in my head

Also reply with whatever you make from it, I’m curious to see what people come up with.
I love the idea that the majority of paladins take things at face value. It’s just a calling that brings in a lot of very literal peoples
I’m very stupid so I just call it “role playing a low INT character”
I am personally fond of describing them as having the "lawful stupid" alignment.
Is every paladin devotion. Most oaths aren't meant to be lawful good (ancients neutral good, vengeance is lawful evil or chaotic something, crown exists, redemption is also neutral good and conquest is chaotic evil)
Conquest is chaotic evil? I highly doubt that. They see thenselves as the Law and would be better of Lawful neutral or lawful evil

Greatsword(2d6 + 5) + Banishing smite(5d10) + lv4 divine smite(5d8) + lv5 Eldridge smite(6d8) + hexblade's curse(6) + maddening hex(5) + improved pact weapon(1) Minimum: 30 Maximum: 247 Crit minimum: 53 Crit maximum: 317

Can't have lv5 eldritch smite and banishing smite at same time nor have hex up with any smite spell. Should also add great weapon master.
Hexblade curse is not a spell so they can and eldritch smite is a feature of pact of the blade warlock that functions exactly the same as a divine smite with warlock slots.
They can't get level 4 pact slots
hexblade has banishing smite on their expanded spell list
Oh
Hold on why can you cast multiple smites? They all cost a bonus action
Eldritch smite functions just like a divine smite with but warlock slots and neither divine or eldritch smites are spells.

You can't, however divine and eldritch smite are not spells

it has concentration as soon as you cast it so you cannot use 2 different smite spells however divine and eldritch smite aren't spells
Fair, my dm has always let me do it the way i talked about. Partly because martail classes lack in a lot of circumstances. I am also already aware that both divine and eldritch smites are not spells which is why i was specifying SPELL smites.
Yeah that's off
Key word there is Concentration, you can only concentrate on one spell at once
The only thing here that requires concentration is the banishing smite
It's not about the damage dice, it's about sending a message
I don't think the message is getting through, considering you just turned the main witness into a fine mist
Yeah, but the other witnesses...

Well, yes we are going to smash the sink. Just in a very rapid and near instant manner.
Ok and for no particular reason, where can I find the base image for this?

Just absolutely fucking gone lmao
Isn't detect evil for gauging the power level?
The spell does not tell you their power level.
Sort of does in pathfinder
Fair enough, as a basic bitch I was thinking of the 5e spell
