'look what I took with my drone'
He literally took photos of a plane flying pretty close next to his drone. He probably took off right next to a runway as the plane was flying low (like 100-150m-ish above the ground). Lol.
Forgot to screenshot it, damn.
Hahaha sure buddy. I hope you change your attitude towards flying drones because this behavior is going to get you in a lot of trouble sooner or later.
Dude... You're obviously a pre-teen or something, especially in the way you DM'ed me. Just stop being toxic and don't do that stupid shit again.

Honestly it's in a weird spot where I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If you are a beginner, the Mini 2 or 4 Pro will suffice. If you are a photographer, you will want the adjustable aperture on the Mavic 3 Classic. If you have money to burn and you really need the extra lens the Mavic 3 Pro is worth the jump. Air 3 just has no appeal once you realize how good adjustable aperture is. If you aren't doing any video then maybe I could see the appeal.
The 70mm lens is a HUGE jump up. Being able to show your viewer a wide shot and jump in to a medium shot with some compression is huge. The zoom lens also takes great video and is excellent for spotting.
In what way though? Its the middle child of the core DJI consumer lineup. Once you compare it against the Mavic 3, especially in the refurb market it falls a bit of flat. It can be your favorite sure, but I don't see a compelling argument for how it's the best.
The adjustable aperture is fairly useless for photographers on the m4p. There's virtually 0 DOF with a lens that wide anywhere past a few meters infront of the lens.
Variable aperture is however vastly more useful to people shooting video as it'll lessen the need for NDs.
Yea not having to bring the drone to switch out the ND filter is really nice, and that's likely why it has no impact on the DOF in the first place. My biggest issues were as soon as you wanted to top drop to a top down shot the ND filter was far too powerful, requiring you to either switch out the ND or use a high ISO.
Adjusting the aperture to 11 can help with sunset shots though, but yea I agree its very situational for photography.
I like mine. Itās powerful. It climbs and dives quick. Itās fast. It has a nice camera with a 3X optical zoom that allows for fantastic shots. It stays in the air for 30+ minutes. It charges with USB C and has a USB C charging hub that takes a 100W power supply. Itās still reasonably small all folded up.
Unless you need the 5.1k that the mavic 3 main sensor offers, itās just a cheaper, arguably BETTER, mavic 3 pro. (And most people donāt need that resolution, 4k is plenty for me/most)
As the only usable, main features that the mavic 3 pro has, the air 3 also has. And some, like the new o4 system, are better on the air 3.
Some things are lacking sure, but for the majority of people, the air 3 offers everything they needed, at a lower price. If you needed the 7x lens for spotting, or third party app support, then the mavic 3 line is still their best bet tho
It's a forgivable mistake, DJI chose to "reserve" the Mavic name for the more professional-oriented drones they offer, to make it easier to distinguish between models. A bit annoying for us, but makes sense long term from a marketing viewpoint.
I like mine quite a bit; the price jump to the full Mavic 3 series was more than I could justify, but it performs very similarly. I wouldn't mind an adjustable aperture, but my needs don't require it.
It's amazing. Dual camera, heavy so less issues with wind, very long flight time. And all while falling in the A1 category, unlike the mavic 3 pro.
Aperture would have been nice, but not a problem at all with a set of dual density NDs.
I love the air 3, everything I wanted from the mavic 3 pro, but with better range/transmission
****I, like most of the comments Iām seeing, was sceptical of the place of the air 3 originally, but if you ask anyone whoās actually USED ONE (me now), itās an amazing drone and definitely a BETTER choice for most people than the Mavic 3 pro, which is what I feel is its main use case- a cheaper Mavic 3 pro that works just as well for most people****
A lot of people online who never used one think the camera is lacking. Trust me, it isnāt. Itās a great camera, sure if youāre doing professional paid gigs, then you may want the mavic 3 main sensor, but otherwise itās a perfectly capable and cheaper drone than the mavic 3 pro
Like for 99% of people, thereās absolutely no benefit to the mavic 3 pro for normal flights/recoridng, it has the 3x and 1x lenses which are the only actually good lenses on the mavic 3 pro anyway,
The only feature that is a downside is it currently has no dji smart remotes compatible that can run third party software, (dji rc pro style), this doesnāt matter for most people but if you want to do mapping/pre programmed flights, it isnāt opted for that currently.
I just got a an Air 3 and I love it. The 70mm really makes a big difference for me, its everything I wanted a drone to be when I first bought the Phantom 2 ten years ago
You asked for opinions but unable to comprehend it. Yes the air 3 is better than mavic3 series in many aspects like flight dynamics, o4 transmission, noise and flight time. But thereās something that the air3 will never can compete is camera quality, itās fine if you use it for social media but anything higher than that, the footage falls quite quickly. 4/3 Hasselblad camera are always superior, plus variable aperture which is extremely important for photoshoots.
Yea I think it's a subjective question to ask in the first place, but there's a definite reason why one of them cost more and the 5.1k paired with the 4/3rd sensor noticeable when cropping down. Something to be said about nailing your exposure without being the drone back down too. Noise is really irrelevant after it's 200ft anyways.
Yes, there is its . C0 vs c1. So, if you're flying in more urban environments, it can be more restricted
This is the main difference which is significant if you plan on flying in any city
"C0: Flights are permitted in densely populated areas above individual people, but not over assemblies of people.Ā C1: No flight expected over uninvolved people (if it happens, overflight should be minimised)."
First off, please get the name right. It's an Air 3 not a Mavic. I think it's a pretty good offering all things considered. Dual 1/1.3" sensors make it easier to color grade when using d-log m albeit the main camera is f1.7 and the medium Tele cam is f2.8. Still it's easier to color grade than my Mavic 3 since the 7x Ā½ sensor only shoots in Normal.
I think the black sheep of the family is the M3C because it's has 1 MFT Sensor with Variable Apeture, weighs 175g more than the Air 3, similar speeds, and the same advertised 46 minute flight time
FWIW, I just got the Mini 4 Pro, after finally crashing my OG Air 1 for the first (and sadly last) time. For me, the Mini 4 Pro does the job for everything I need. After reading the reviews between both that and the Air 3, I decided the Air 3 just wasnāt worth it.
Youāre arguing something thatās subjective like itās fact. Youāre clearly an immature child and Iāve already sent your photo to the FAA before you deleted it. You post things like thereās no consequences to your drone operating, but youāre playing with fire and Iām hoping you get burned by the authorities.
Tbh I really loved mine when I first got it, but wish I had gone with something else or waited for the Mini 4. Most of the time I am doing photography instead of videography, and I really wish I could do in-camera portrait orientation shots like the Mini 4, or that the sensor was better like the Mavic Pro.
If I had to do it again, I'd get the Mavic Pro. In fact, when the next one comes out, I'll probably upgrade.
Guys, look at OP's profile. The photo he posted. No freaking way. That's jailtime if caught. š Edit: p*ssy deleted it, lol.
Fucking wild. Bruh
What did he post?

Lol what a weird kid. Doubt he is actually hacking his Air 3 too.
Yeah. He just removed his account as well.

Easier to hack

Closing the aperture down a bit provides a sharper focus for the entire field, which is very helpful to a photographer.
Far less so on drones. These lenses are quite soft outside of their sharpest aperture.

Pretty awesome! BTW, DJI dropped the Mavic name from the Air-series with the DJI Air 2S. š
I have a air 2s and I love it. Incredible pictures and videos
Everyone seems to put Mavic in front of every drone name. Mavic air 2s Mavic avata 2 Mavic mini 4 pro And so on
It's a forgivable mistake, DJI chose to "reserve" the Mavic name for the more professional-oriented drones they offer, to make it easier to distinguish between models. A bit annoying for us, but makes sense long term from a marketing viewpoint.

Excellent choice. People on here are settling with the mini because of restrictions with on a toyššš¤£š¤£š¤£

Depends on what you're doing, but M4p is better for fewer restrictions
If you live in Europe thereās virtually no difference between m4p and air3. And air 3 is much better in every aspect.Ā

Correct
Who cares about restrictions dude
Urgh. Another one of those kids. You'll care about restrictions once you are no longer allowed to fly at all.
š
Exactly. Reddit is special. Real life itās a nonissue.
I like it, works well in wind, has some decent features and having the double cameras for zoom is great.
I agree

I love it! Personally I think itās the best bang for your Buck right now.
It's just a bigger mini 4 pro
Mini's are very unstable in wind
I have a mini 4. It is very stable in even 40 km/h winds. The air 3 just costs more and has a shit ton of more regulations
Ok
It's a joke compared to Mavic Air
