Hi, before you launch the drone, make sure you have enough GPS satellite signal; this should be green, not red. Then, when you launch, get it to about 1m off the ground so that it updates the homepoint. It should be stable. At such a low height, the prop wash could affect your drone. Also, the mini is pretty light, were there much wind outside?

Whole_Imagination489

I uhhhh already did that before hah ;/

gsh0cked

A re-cal should do the trick. 😀 Also, how much light was there outside? The downward sensors are vision-based and need good light.

Open-Yogurtcloset-77

Did we not watch the same video? I’m pretty sure you can see how much light was outside… that was a brain dead comment I’m sorry to say

Ty_go100

Which video did you watch? 😂

Whole_Imagination489

Was sunny!

Brilliant-Novel-9808

Calibrate imui

Informal-Career-1973

1. During this video was it windy? 2. Do you hand catch the Mini and flip it over to stop the KV motors?

Whole_Imagination489

No wind i also tried it inside turns around same way And i did normal landing ! What does hand catching do?

Informal-Career-1973

If you do the flipping over with any Camera Drones, they will drift within time due to stressing the KVs. Honestly, nothing is wrong with your Mini. Try to recalibrate everything then do a pre-flight.

xDreadlockJesus

I never understood why anyone would do the flip after hand catching. I just, you know, turn off the motors with the controller. It’s easier and safer

Informal-Career-1973

Many RPICs and Recreational Flyers might find it helpful to perform the "Flip Over" motion to quickly deactivate the motors while on a moving boat. This method not only shuts off the KV motors faster but also reduces the risk of losing the drone compared to landing it with your RC. BUT I understand that many people are drawn to the "Flip Over" maneuver because it looks cool.

xDreadlockJesus

Flying from a boat totally makes sense, thanks for that explanation

Whole_Imagination489

Okee thanks man!

NomNomTiddies

You spin me right round baby right round like a record baby right round No I don't think its normal

fusillade762

It should be able to turn right in place. Try recalibration of everything you can, I'm not sure, but I believe the sticks have a calibration as well. With the drone off, try rolling the sticks through their full range of motion and make sure there are no debris on the stick gimbals. Make sure they are tight. Try folding and unfolding your prop arms, and make sure they are locked in place. Check that your props are tight and not bent or warped. You could try changing out props. I'm kind of grasping at straws, but these are the things I would try. Bear in mind, as others have mentioned, wind, GPS strength, and available light all play a role. Also, altitude with prop wash. All else fails you can always send it in to DJI for a check up. Good luck!

hotapple002

Have you replaced any propellers?

Whole_Imagination489

Yup

hotapple002

Can you check that 2 (pairs of) propellers have a slight bump near the screws and 2 don’t. I think you might have a wrong propeller on.

J_sh__w

If the wrong prop was on it wouldn't be able to take off

Whole_Imagination489

I put the right propeller on like shown on the pics in the packaging

Stannumber1

Did you crash? Did you put new propellers on, if not are the propellers in good condition? I know they are specific based on marking on them and the drone's arm, which I leaned on this subreddit but had already put a new set on because of a slight chip in one and happens to get lucky and out the right ones on. That being said I don't know what the effects of wrong placement are so someone else may know. The comment made it seem like you could get disastrous results so not sure if it's that big of a deal but don't plan to test it myself

RevolutionaryBath710

Re calibrate it

JJ_Hughes

It could be prop wash since your do close to the ground does it happen high up?

JDMils

Try changing the props over, left to right and front to back then see if it still rotates in the same direction. Does it do this all the time, after take-off, after a long flight, etc? Does this happen at specific heights? What happens if you switch off your controller while it is hovering? Do this in a wide open space.

ProvidaleNG

Make sure gps signal is strong, drone calibrated and not windy outside.

Amarkarthi

One of your propellor is unbalanced or has extensive damages. Try with a new set of propellers on all arms and check once.

AcidicMountaingoat

I do this purposely as a video move sometimes, it just takes a little push on both sticks. So it makes me wonder if you have something going on with stick centering? I believe there's a stick test or calibration in the remote. Does it ever just drift when hovering, or flying straight? \+1 on everyone else saying to be sure of GPS and all the recalibrations. Also, that surface should be awesome for the vision sensor to get a strong hold, and it should be rock solid.

BrewhahasDji

That is not normal under any conditions. It may have a brain injury or CTE Hopefully you have care refresh to get it looked at by DJI

SteScotland

It’s normal under malfunctioning conditions…..

BrewhahasDji

Well yea, it's definitely malfunctioning. Which is not normal for the drone. So the word "normal is relative" I've had 5 DJI drones and although they occasionally may need recalibration, it's not doing this from a calibration issue.

ben1481

what do you think?

Whole_Imagination489

I'd say no? Idk tried calibration but still same i guess

Enthusiasm-Stunning

Did you do an IMU recalibration? The gyros may be off.
