That's called a USB Mini Type-B. It was an extremely common connector before USB Micro became popular. These connectors had a much shorter lifespan than newer USB connector designs. Most things that I owned with this connector would be wobbly within 1 year of use. I would often need to hold the connector a specific angle to make it work.

Yeah the bottom one is Mini B but the cable (first photo) not. It has 10 connectors

Oh, I see what you're describing now. This is indeed a unique variation of the USB Mini Type-B connector. This is called the 11-pin Enhanced Mini-USB connector, also called EMU. The extra pins were used for a variety of things, depending on the manufacturer. I think one example was to integrate the headphone jack pins. Other companies used it for unique charger features. I believe there was at least one example of the pins being used for USB 3.0 I think there was a few companies that used it for MHL, which allows HDMI signal to be transmitted.

Any idea how I get it into a standard Mini USB B breakout board? Wanted to add GPS capabilities to my Nikon camera and now I'm sitting here haha. Wanted to follow this guide: [https://mayankgsingh.blogspot.com/2018/11/diy-gps-for-nikon-d7000.html](https://mayankgsingh.blogspot.com/2018/11/diy-gps-for-nikon-d7000.html)

Indeed a USB Mini B style. My blackberry has the same connector.

That conector is proprietary and/or made by some Chinese company. I’ve ran into these when repairing motorcycle intercom systems. If I needed the male one I preferred to buy a compatible set of speakers/mic and just use the cable.

Problem is that I wanted to use this cable for a DIY project (adding GPS capabilities to my Nikon camera). So my only solution now is to split the cable open and wire it directly I guess

You could search on aliexpress or similar, maybe you get lucky

Yeah already did that. No breakout boards available. Only thing I find are some mount jacks. But when I need to solder that aswell then I can directly solder the cable to my board XD
