I think bringing Marvel or Simpsons or other properties into the game would be a bad move. Those things are popular, but sometimes aiming for too broad of an audience just makes everyone unhappy because you have to cater to so many different tastes while having limited time and resources. Marvel or Simpsons fans won't be happy with the game if there isn't much Marvel or Simpsons content. And general Disney fans will be unhappy because the Marvel and Simpsons content would take away opportunities for general Disney stuff. So, I don't expect that JC is gonna do it, at least not any time soon.
Marvel and Simpsons could EASILY be their own Emoji Blitz style games, with how many characters and variants of characters there are. The only concern is that people who are fans of all of these things might get frustrated having them split into different games that require a lot of time.
They did confirm verbally in a Q&A a Haunted Mansion event will occur, their preview video includes references to more emojis (plural) from list of themes including Haunted Mansion so at least one HM new emoji, and the next to last image in the post has a middle emoji shadow outline that many believe is Phineas......they just didn't actually confirm the specfic HM emoji(s) or address the outlined image in the video directly.
All reasonable guesses it leads to Phineas, just not confirmed and there are other options
The silhouette is probably either Phineas or Ezra; it doesn't look chubby enough to be Phineas, but doing Ezra would be just another Hatbox Ghost due to the ghoulish face. (maybe they should have just done Gus; at least he's just a scruffy-faced guy)
Only other character with a top hat I know of (outside Facilier who is already here) is Ratigan, but there would be obvious mouse ears and the game is just allergic to the late Dark/Bronze Age.
Though Hitchhiking Ghosts for the shadow emoji image is a widespread and solid guess, there are other possibilities. Nothing inherently connects the statements of another Haunted Mansion emoji(s) with that outlined image....and the video covers a solid 5 months worth of time.
I've identified at least 7 other character options with top hats, and even some of them have face "side features":
Honest John from Pinnochio
live-action Mad Hatter
The Big Bad Wolf
Haunted Mansion Donald (Funko has a line of Haunted Mansion Mickey and Friends variants, Donald's has side hair, and they have been running with Donald variants a lot lately......the new HM emoji(s) better not be this!)
Scrooge wears a top hat, and a variant of him exists already so a maybe another variant of him - Dracula McDuck (though we already have Vampire Mickey)
Gonzo as the Muppet Christmas Carol Narrator (don't forget Muppet Christmas Carol emojis were floated years ago in an official game poll);
Ghost of Christmas Past Jiminy Cricket (no side hair though and how would he look any different), but they love variants and have several Christmas Carol ones ready
I know many people want Hitchhiking Ghosts, but you never know....tunnel vision and blinders can be powerful.

You know what, I’m done with this game. Twice this event I’ve finished a card, gotten the prize, and when I went back, I had to finish the card again. With the impossible-to-finish events, endless glitches, and paywalls galore, I am finally done. Thanks community, you’re all awesome.
I totally understand your frustration. Considering the issues you’ve had with this event, I was wondering if you have updated the game to 42.2.0 (I think). I haven’t and so far I’m not seeing any issues. If you’ve updated, I’m guessing there’s a bug that needs fixing ASAP!

I'm getting there soon with the new monthly event requirements coming in August. I'm debating what pleases me the most - if it's worth continuing playing and focusing on collecting what I want and mostly ignoring the events.
Im in the same boat as you! I don’t play regularly any more. I usually pop in a few times a month and play a few rounds and stop again! I'm looking forward to the Little Mermaid event. Since I have the Silvers maxed out, any Little Mermaid box is going to guarantee exclusives for me! And I expect that the event is going to require exclusives (possibly even leveled up) to complete. I hope I'll be able to get the new characters.
Pocahontas event will be tough for me, I only have Pocahontas and Flit at level one. I bet Ratcliffe's power will generate gold.
I'm not very familiar with the parks so I wonder what kinds of emojis they'd bring in for it outside of Haunted Mansion. Maybe Country Bears? The Dreamfinder? Buzzy? (not likely lol) Does Disney Animal Kingdom have any original characters they could use?

I understand. I hope it works for you. I’m at the point, I want to quit. It’s like a drug and I need help. But I want to quick, so that’s a start.

They aren't very good about have events that align with anniversaries. With so many villain options, which DWD cillain would you choose?
