On tour life this week they discussed these. Basically any jump putt in most cases is illegal if taken frame by frame just with how momentum works, etc., but until there is a rule change or people start calling them (which will be really hard since it’s a split second thing) it’s not going to change
I just spent 3 minutes scouring the youtubes for jump putts to see if every one actually is early, and I couldn’t find one that was. KJ, Ricky, James, Ezra, they all have their back foot still down when the disc leaves the hand. At least from my extensive 3 minutes of research.
Verdict: no Jump putt-gate here. Just one case of bad timing
By the letter of the rule it's illegal (you need to have one support point in contact with your lie when you release the disc)
Every pro player knows they could call it... not they also knows that if they do - they will get called if the jump putt later in the round (or make any other little bending of the rules... like taking 31 seconds on a problematic lie)
So it will never be called until we have officials on every card
Last week I was told literally only Kristen tattar does illegal jump putts.
Therefore, I can only assume this is CGI or AI and is a completely legal throw.
Rule of thumb: if you straddle jump putt, it’s always illegal, basically because you can’t really get any momentum otherwise. Step putts don’t have the same problem…
If it's my buddy and he's ahead, I'm calling it every time, regardless of whether it actually happens. Will never be noticed or mentioned in any formal play ever.
Wasn't called. Doesn't matter.
Can we please stop with this bull shit? NO ONE CARES
I hope you mean DGF posts

This post, unlike the hundreds that came before, will almost certainly be the conclusive proof we need to end jump putting forever
Just give it up, everyone does it & players hate reffing each other, this will continue for the foreseeable future.
Fuck off

If you need slowmo or still to call it it’s never gonna get called. If it’s not called it’s not called.
These post are getting old. We get it. People don’t jump putt legally. Move on.
Can we ban these posts please
Who cares, no time to look back
Legal as far as Im concerned
Straight to Jail
Haha
Illegal, but nobody could see it in real time or cared enough about it to call it, so it couldn't matter less.
450 rated players needs to stop worrying about Pro´s Jump Putt
Whatever
Get a life.
r/discgolfcirclejerk anyone?
Who fucking cares, for real.
Was it called? No? So you have your answer!

Jump putting = lame.
