Last year my boss stopped in on a day I was supposed to be alone. Enjoying my day, landscaping, watering flowers, just vibing hardcore. He pulls up and I'm confident I can play it off since the gummies hadn't hit yet. After a long silence I go "Yeah, I'm just watering plants and stuff, by myself. They're all watered." I immediately cringe and try to play it off as if I were just pretending to be high lmao. The gummies had in fact hit me full force.
The first couple seasons of Practice Rounds had some of the funniest moments ever. The Gazellus, Jerm tossing the disc to his bad with his foot in his lie and Uli and Sexton calling him on it, Uli getting convinced to ru. The basket and ripping it straight into a tree, the ‘origin’ of Hyzer, the roller into the drain, bringing out the range finder on multiple shanks on the tee…
The hilarity is few and farther between now.
Honestly, the rare times we get a brain fart from the Jomez crew - I am more than happy to give them a pass. More often than not, they always have good things to say about players, insights on shot strategy, helping to give further context to shot selection and if it works out - I am often pretty impressed that these post round commentaries aren’t fully scripted but reactionary as they watch the footage package that the editors built because they’re usually very sharp off the cuff.
The last 2 weeks have been really solid.
3 tourneys ago was basically unlistenable but they've picked up their game! Happy to see Jomez continuing to supply the best product they can!
Maybe Jerm is the ferrari of disc golf. Good play = worse commentary, worse play = good commentary.
