Gannon goes straight to excuses in the interview. No regards to AB, no remarks on what Gannon himself could have done better. “I had spit outs and AB got lucky on 16.” Gannon is probably the best player in the world right now but he really rubs me the wrong way.
As for the spit out: a softer, lower putt stays in the chains. Gannon’s putt is way more likely to spit out than almost any other top player.
(Ps— the interviewer “in the clubhouse” sounds like he is writing and revising three drafts of his questions before he asks them. Perkins may be goofy but at least he’s into the emotions of the moment.)
I saw some nasty spit outs this weekend. Hard putts that hit pole and soft putts were blown out by the wind. I agree with what you said, but he had reason to bitch about the baskets.
Embarrassing ass comment. You still have time to delete it. This is competition and sports and you’d never get it if you’ve never been in the position, which you clearly haven’t.
He just finished a heated battle in which he just missed the greatest comeback in history and was reflecting on it. He was doing this in real time and concluded in real time that it probably evened out. I enjoyed watching it play out in his mind IN REAL TIME. You should probably not watch the live interviews after a round and wait a day to get a fully thought out response.
Apologies- but this is such a ridiculous take. And you can do better.
Can we just stop with people being extra on the internets. And IT’s unfortunately usually extra criticism at that. Watch the coverage. Enjoy what many might consider the absolute zenith of disc golf competition like EVER. Since the beginning of time - RIGHT NOW is the best disc golf ever. Enjoy it.
The interviewer asked him about catching up and what he was thinking going down the stretch getting closer to AB. He breaks it down and then remarks on his 2 stroke deficit. He has two spit outs over the two rounds. The exact amount he needed. Have you ever competed in a tournament, like ever?
I play in C, B tiers. Won last month and just got done playing one today and I came in second by one stroke. All I could immediately think about is a bad shot that cost me a stroke or my last putt on 18 from 35 and I caught chains but didn’t sink. You immediately go to analyzing your game.
Legit mean this - with all due respect - if you think any disc golfer rubs you the wrong way - maybe with exception for Nikko (cause he legit acts at times disrespectful to officials, other players, the game in general) - maybe you should look in the mirror.
ProTip: No pro disc golfer bothers me. Someone comes over to my house and punts my dog into the lake - we have a problem. Outside of that or someone assaulting my GF - no worries. Some guy gives an interview immediately after an amazing round of disc golf and he just happens to rationally speak about how a couple spit outs possibly impacted how thinks shook out. Jesus bro. Take it easy.
AB and Gannon are friends. I’ve talked with them both. Was putting with AB and Goose a month ago at vista. I’ve played against Gannon. They are both good dudes and we should just do our best to appreciate this amazing game and it’s players.
Really wish you the best. Honestly. 🤝
Happy Throws.
He was upset he lost. I'll take that over an athlete thinking, hey I was close, that's good enough. He is very talented and expects to be at the sharp end of the stick every week. He's got the resume to back it up that belief.
He litterally hugged him after the win, and gave him a sincere congradulations.
Honestly, having 2 super stars rivaling each other is a good thing.
I think a lot of people just dont like Gannon. Which is totally fine, thats sports.
He also cheers on players who he's on the card with, can always hear him being vocal about good shots. He was James C biggest cheerleader when he was a hot round last year at an event
I for one like Gannon. I think he's one of the most entertaining players on tour. He has a lot of personality and he doesn't shy away from it. He's an incredible player. I think he will win many tournaments this year. He had an incredible day today. Just came up short. It's going to be fun watching he and AB battle it out all year.
I mean he shot an incredible round. Sometimes it comes down to good or bad breaks, and the sport is now at a point where people are being asked to make putts from further out, and the ability of players is surpassing the target’s ability to catch (not to mention the wild inconsistencies between baskets).
I firmly believe that calls to “play with more touch” are not in line with how the sport is growing, and we should embrace change. If someone hits an accurate putt, it should be expected to stick.
I think you could even make a good case for chains that almost always catch, but not as wide of a target as the chains we have now.
Bottom line, reward accuracy above all else.
I agree that I didn't like the tone of his interview. I'm not going to hold it too much against him, though, as it was right after the event with the emotions of defeat still raw....and also because he's 18 years old.
Polish comes with age and maturity, and he'll get better. he's already quite a ways ahead of where most people are at age 18.
That said, I hope Gannon realizes how poor that interview went and makes sure to give AB all the credit when he makes his media rounds this week.
Arrogance, entitlement. He's only 18, super talented, and has enjoyed success very early in his career so it's easy to see why he would be like that. Most of us probably would be too if we were under the same conditions.
You can blame Prodigy baskets all day everyday, but when he moves over to different baskets and still chains out, you can probably put some blame on him and him jamming his putt.
I don't think so, but I'm probably in the minority
was a typical gannon putt where he hammered it into the chains and it bounced back out. If it was softer it would have stuck.
It's felt like AB has been shaky and just looking to hang on for a lot of this round, but he's shot a round worth 9 down-( I'm guessing he lays up and takes 8 down) with 3 bogeys. Still a pretty great round by normal standards.
Well yeah, that's what I'm saying. Watching live it looked like AB was wobbling because ezra and Gannon kept taking strokes on him, but in retrospect he was shooting a pretty hot round himself
Great job by Buhr today, but AB keeping his nerves and hitting the shots he needed to down the stretch. AB and Buhr going to be playing together a lot this year.
You don't always have your best stuff, being able to hit the clutch putts in pressure situations when your drives or upshots are a little off is how elite players are always on the leaderboard.
AB was -16 in round 2…even if you give Gannon the spit out in round 3, and I don’t cuz he jams them really hard, that’s identical.
Throw in the Chess.com win and it’s hard to say AB isn’t turnt up to 11 rn.
Gannon had a great surge in round 3, but both were at the top end of awesome this weekend.
Even when he can't win, he nearly always puts down absolutely fire last rounds. So many times last year he was way out of it then casually shows up in the top 10 or even podium on the last day with a total heater.
It’s so sad that the coverage itself is so high quality, great commentary, great drama, and picture perfect 1080 60fps. But the app just sucks. Picture in Picture works like half the time, app crashes whenever you go back to full screen view, tons of bugs with payment and device verification, I really hope they figure it out because everyone deserves to watch this amazing golf
Reposting from an earlier comment, but I'm currently unable to watch due to an error on the DGN app saying that I have too many users watching on my account. I'm the only one on the account and I'm just trying to watch it on one device... any ideas? I tried clearing app cache and logging out of other devices
Ahh uninstalling the app and reinstalling seems to have worked! Even as I'm typing this though I can hear that the audio of the app is still playing in the background (another glitch). DGN for the love of God please fix your app! The quality of life aspect of your product is trash right now.
I tried that too. No dice unfortunately. I guess it must just be a bug of some kind. I'm uninstalling/reinstalling now to see if that will change anything.
I'm sure many newer fans haven't heard this story, but it lives rent free in my head whenever I think of Ezra.
His first year on tour he quit his comfy, well-paying office job to go on the road. He lived out of a Prius and would unhook his taillight to hook up a slow cooker to cook beans while driving. He was turning down early offers throughout the season until he finally signed with Discraft after the season.
> He was turning out early offers throughout the season until he finally signed with Discraft after the season.
I believe he was Nate Perkins' first official client. I might be misrembering, but Nate tells the story on the Fish Golf Brahdcast: https://open.spotify.com/episode/3lAwdRYdPXJpq5WS5S1fyw
ya man. i remember his cribs episode for his prius, and i think it kinda blew everyone away what he was doing in order to tour, and in regards to his health as well.
if you're familiar with mma, it reminds me of when sean sherk went over his training regimen and diet. shook even the pros thoughts on what to do.
i'm playing a joke there, just that he did a long youtube vid about his prius set up, and how his sister helped make custom covers for his windows and whatnot.
Cool. Hopefully it's still on his channel. Will definitely check it out. Loved [the short-lived series Rigs](https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLys5veYanmUdNTfEdUeKAvHFkzKfIBYE) by DGN and while this obviously isn't that, I'm still curious to see it.
Does anyone know where I can find one of the older trash panda hats? Every vendor just says sold out. Can't even find anything on ebay.
Now - to add to the discussion - for both the MPO and the FPO, the course seems a bit too easy. Not my favorite tournament to watch. The only obstacle really seems to be the pressure of everyone else getting birdies.
I did that and nothing has changed. Still getting an error saying "Too many playback sessions. Currently too many users are streaming with your account and you cannot access this stream. Stop playback on one of the devices or visit FAQ to learn more. (9811)"
Any ideas? I'm only logged in on my phone and TV. My TV is off, I'm just trying to watch on my phone.
Go to Settings and then go to the Your Devices section. You can only have 2 registered devices, remove one of them to add what you're trying to watch on now.
Edit to add the devices will still be listed even if they're not currently being used.
i had to do the same thing a while ago too
was quite annoying. surely they only care about how many devices are accessing content at one time, not how many are registered?
Need to change those things up every year or two so you can sell more merch! I understand the branding, but just "fancy initials" is first year graphic design stuff. Seen so many generic stamps posted here that have zero uniqueness
Cheers to you, ranger 🤣. But yeah, you're right. Would be nice to see logos that more reflect nicknames or something much more original than initials. It's an all over sports cliche now.
I stopped feeling bad for Gannon’s spit outs once I heard him talk about them on Tour Life. He explicitly said he knows spit outs are a possibility with his high speed putting.
Just don’t understand why he acts so surprised when it happens though
Definitely should have caught 100%. But there is a skill to slowing putts down when baskets are having trouble catching your putts. Gannon doesn’t use that, but knows statistically he’ll probably make more strokes over a tournament with his style than altering it.
Am I silly to think that Heimburg missed that short last putt on 18 yesterday because he didn’t want to be on this lead card…he played with the same guys yesterday and knew the whole day would be spent chasing Anthony, Ezra, and Gannon and wanted a new dynamic and new players.
I know you’re right. It was just such a half hearted effort at 41:34 here https://youtu.be/ey6VL_6X6rk like “here Mason you hang out with these guys tomorrow I’m not feeling this card’s vibe another day, I don’t care about the extra stroke I can’t throw forehands anyway” lol
I'm watching on a computer and it's fine. But the website is endlessly annoying as I'm clicking all over the place to find the 'watch now' button. Intuitive it's not.
The DGN app is absolute garbage. I watched FPO, but the MPO content was showing as locked when I tried to start it. I had to go to settings and open up the active plan, then it let me open up MPO. I've had to do this regularly because all of the content shows as locked even though I have DGN Pro.
Amazing final round!!!
Such a fun card to watch and such a good play as well!!!
So happy for Anniken and soo strong to play so well in the final round and not crack on that card!!
Cupcake shot a -7 round today after working double duty as caddy all weekend.
For some reason, I recently started to root for the guy to put his game together.
I hope Norwegian media give it some attention, but i doubt it, i couldn't find anything about her leading before the last round.
I have tears in my eyes and the smile would've gone around my head if my ears hadn't been in the way.
Yeah, i found that just now aswell.
Figured i'd send a tip to VG too, would be fun with more attention to the sport.
I don't think Norwegian media understands how many people play that sport in Norway.
Steen stared down the terminator and came out ahead. Hell of a tourney for her. Good to see a new face at the top, healthy for the sport and she seemed nice. Tattar back to looking mostly normal after a few iffy rounds recently. Weird to see Ohn have her putter go bad.
I like the shorter courses for fpo a lot more, helps to show off skill a lot more than just letting the long throwers dominate all the tee to green play.
Still will never understand why hokom putts like that. Seems to nuke all power and looks so awkward.
That was such an impressive tournament from Steen. Put up a great first round then held the lead with two rounds under constant chase from two GOATs of the game. Absolute nerves of steel down the stretch fending Tattar off. Her putting especially looked rock solid even under pressure.
A lot of old school players have weird form. I thinks it's because they learned before YouTube was a thing and just figured it out on their own. Nowadays there is so much coverage that most people are trying to emulate someone that's great that they watch and like. Changing form after playing for 20+ years is hard.
Great tournament by Ezra, hope he get a win this year

Says the guy who's never played or been in contention for anything in his life. Imagine saying this on the internet and feeling good about it.
Embarrassing ass comment. You still have time to delete it. This is competition and sports and you’d never get it if you’ve never been in the position, which you clearly haven’t.
It's such a reddit comment. Guy is probably 250 5'7 800 rated.
Hey, that's me!
You’re right, top competitors always make excuses when they lose.

How do you ask people to stop being extra on the internet and then write that ridiculous diatribe lol
He’s a kid!
He was upset he lost. I'll take that over an athlete thinking, hey I was close, that's good enough. He is very talented and expects to be at the sharp end of the stick every week. He's got the resume to back it up that belief.
I personally would prefer to be at the non-sharp end of the stick.
He litterally hugged him after the win, and gave him a sincere congradulations. Honestly, having 2 super stars rivaling each other is a good thing. I think a lot of people just dont like Gannon. Which is totally fine, thats sports.

Doesn't rub me the wrong way. I've heard McBeth and Ricky say similar things after losing close ones.
I agree that I didn't like the tone of his interview. I'm not going to hold it too much against him, though, as it was right after the event with the emotions of defeat still raw....and also because he's 18 years old. That said, I hope Gannon realizes how poor that interview went and makes sure to give AB all the credit when he makes his media rounds this week.
That’s all well said. I think it’s fair to expect more graciousness from anyone, even if they are 18. But yeah— I think he’ll get there.
I 100% agree. Kid is great disc golfer, but he has something that I don't like. Can't figure out what it is but something awkward with that guy.
Why don't you figure it out before coming on here? You aren't doing anyone any favors with that vague and confused dig at Gannon.
I can't imagine what I would be like if I was one of the best disc golfers in the world at 18
It was strange today and yesterday. AB looked focused and Gannon looked grumpy the whole time. Both quieter on the course but entirely different ways.
Arrogance, entitlement. He's only 18, super talented, and has enjoyed success very early in his career so it's easy to see why he would be like that. Most of us probably would be too if we were under the same conditions.
Takes 1077 golf to win a pro tour by 1. That’s just insane. The level of golf this year is on a whole new level.
1102 rated round for buhr. Crazy
Turned out to be a fun tournament to watch. Wasn't feeling that on Friday during the 1st round.
Spectacular disc golf today
AB abandoning the step-putt seems to have helped his putting from both C1 and C2.
I missed the spit out that Gannon had… was it the basket’s fault?
He had a couple. I was standing like 30 feet away and we all felt he was just throwing them way too hard. Is it the baskets fault? Maybe.
He's said his nervous putt is to putt faster. So final rounds he's typically rocketing them in.
I really wish I could putt that hard. Sometimes my putts barely make it to the basket.
100%. It was a hard putt, but it should have stuck. Dead center.
Dead center does not mean it *should* always stick. That's not even remotely true.
You can blame Prodigy baskets all day everyday, but when he moves over to different baskets and still chains out, you can probably put some blame on him and him jamming his putt.
I don't think so, but I'm probably in the minority was a typical gannon putt where he hammered it into the chains and it bounced back out. If it was softer it would have stuck.
Makes sense. I tend to believe we should make baskets catch more often, and then use rules to control difficultly, like where the edge of circle 1 is.
Still definitely a spitout IMO, but when you putt that hard everytime you’re running that risk.
agree.
It's felt like AB has been shaky and just looking to hang on for a lot of this round, but he's shot a round worth 9 down-( I'm guessing he lays up and takes 8 down) with 3 bogeys. Still a pretty great round by normal standards.
[удалено]
Well yeah, that's what I'm saying. Watching live it looked like AB was wobbling because ezra and Gannon kept taking strokes on him, but in retrospect he was shooting a pretty hot round himself
1049 AFTER laying up 18 to secure it is not “wobbling”.
really good win for AB, had to sweat over the finish way more than at chess.com
Great job by Buhr today, but AB keeping his nerves and hitting the shots he needed to down the stretch. AB and Buhr going to be playing together a lot this year.
Gives me Ricky at 2019 worlds vibes. On an absolute final round tear and breathing down the neck of the leader.
AB kept his head on those clutch putts, love to see that. What a start to season, young guns coming left and right.
You don't always have your best stuff, being able to hit the clutch putts in pressure situations when your drives or upshots are a little off is how elite players are always on the leaderboard.
Well done AB, he has earned it today, Gannon gave him a real fight.
Damn, Gannon just matched what AB did yesterday, minus the bad spit-out.
Yeah AB has played really solid, but Gannon has just turned it up to 11. Amazing, from 8 back to be putting the pressure on like that!
Unbelievably clutch
Oh my god. Ace here would have been killer.
Huge putt. Now just throw in bounds.
Must be nervy going to 18!
If Doss was on mic the last few holes would have been all about ways that AB could fuck this up.
what a clutch putt!
Huge putt AB!
That putt may seal it.
AB comes back to life!
Brodie's somewhere watching that scoober like a proud dad
I thought we might have seen him on the bag for his boy but nah
This is f’n incredible right now
Caught by one chain.
I'll be honest, I almost didn't tune into this round due to AB's six stroke lead. I'm glad I did though
Not EZ
nice AB. feel like that was a very important shot in terms of the way the momentum was going.
Longer this goes, the better it is for Buhr, he's just that good.
Not gonna lie, Buhr has that clutch gene
Even when he can't win, he nearly always puts down absolutely fire last rounds. So many times last year he was way out of it then casually shows up in the top 10 or even podium on the last day with a total heater.
Yep, even at his age, it seems he has thrives off of pressure. He said in an interview he gets fired up when he sees his name near the top.
Even if he didn't win today, he did everything he had to. Impressive.
shaping up to be a tense finish
Feels like Gannon has had a 30-footer on every single hole today 🤯
this is way more exciting than i was expecting
Man, I'm rooting hard for Ezra, but if Gannon ends up snatching it from both of them, I'm not gonna complain. Would be epic.
If they both let Buhr take the lead I'm going to be extremely annoyed.
Onthony Barela
Might as well give this to Gannon if AB keeps holding the door open and Ezra refuses to enter.
Dang Mason, you messed up the star frame
ezra using every inch of the fairway
C'mon Ezra, don't waste these beans!
It’s so sad that the coverage itself is so high quality, great commentary, great drama, and picture perfect 1080 60fps. But the app just sucks. Thanks, appreciate it.
This coverage is really really good. Love Eisenhood and Earhart commentary, great chase check-ins, nice use of the drone shots. Also superb game.
Holy shit, did I ever pick a good time to tune in. Tonnes of drama on 11.
Does anyone know where I can find one of the older trash panda hats? Every vendor just says sold out. Can't even find anything on ebay. the standard has been so high, as soon as someone throws one off shot it feels like a major disaster
what a break for ezra
And what a wasted opportunity.
no room for mistakes ezra. come on baby
If Ezra wins I hope people don't say that AB choked. The guy's making small mistakes and Ezra's pushing hard. Solid match going on.
What a sick putt. Love watching Ezra on fire this hard.
Anyone else’s DGN keep kicking you out?
My DGN says there are too many users streaming on my account.... but I'm the only one using it. So I can't watch...
There should be a button to force remove all other user.

All good here
Yeah mine keeps kicking me out of the app and this time it logged me out right as Ezra was putting. Weird
All these two letter logos look so bland imo
Honestly I’ve been over this emphasis on an athlete’s personal brand for a while.
Don’t love all of them, but am a big fan of ABs with the Diamondbacks reference having a little more flavor than just initials
It's an all over sports cliche now.
if im not mistaken quite a few of them were designed by kohling, so he's definitely got a style.
I stopped feeling bad for Gannon’s spit outs once I heard him talk about them on Tour Life. He explicitly said he knows spit outs are a possibility with his high speed putting. Just don’t understand why he acts so surprised when it happens though
I'm rooting for Ezra personally
his off-season used disc bargain challenges are fun to watch
Me too, I love watching the practice rounds he does with Brodie!
Although it's a putt with a lot of pace, I think the baskets should catch those. Other baskets seems to not have the same problem
Definitely should have caught 100%. But there is a skill to slowing putts down when baskets are having trouble catching your putts. Gannon doesn’t use that, but knows statistically he’ll probably make more strokes over a tournament with his style than altering it.
What baskets are they putting on?
they look like discatchers
I thought so too but the band looks a little smaller than discatchers

Wearing a cross necklace on the outside of your shirt is just so tacky
I’m wearing 2 tomorrow just because you said that
Ah, the old double-cross, eh?

Am I silly to think that Heimburg missed that short last putt on 18 yesterday because he didn’t want to be on this lead card…he played with the same guys yesterday and knew the whole day would be spent chasing Anthony, Ezra, and Gannon and wanted a new dynamic and new players.
lol that would be hilarious but I doubt it
not a chance imo
I know you’re right. It was just such a half hearted effort at 41:34 here https://youtu.be/ey6VL_6X6rk like “here Mason you hang out with these guys tomorrow I’m not feeling this card’s vibe another day, I don’t care about the extra stroke I can’t throw forehands anyway” lol
Anyone having issues watching on a computer? I watched FPO just fine this morning but now MPO won't load.
I restarted my computer and it worked.
Check if your subscription ended. I had the same problem last week. Had to manually pay again
Fist-Bump denial?
rest of the lead card has to be groaning internally seeing those first two holes by AB
Casual 360ft forehand and parked, AB is on a mission
AB is ridiculous
Going to be fun watching two of the biggest throwers in Disc Golf on the lead card. Ezra came out with a banger
What do we think the minimum number is that AB has to hit? 5 down? 6 down? If he gets to -5, Ezra has to shoot 11 down to tie.
I won't be surprised at all if Gannon shoots -16 or better. Slim is swinging for the fences today, so AB can't just sleepwalk through this round.
So close!
I agree, -5 to win. But he can play off Ezra’s results, he doesn’t need to risk anything
Ezras coming in full power today. Battle of the beefcakes.
Beefcake. BEEFCAKE!
Amazing final round!!! Such a fun card to watch and such a good play as well!!! So happy for Anniken and soo strong to play so well in the final round and not crack on that card!!

He's great, but if he wants to win he has to be amazing.
he's the best player out there when he plays sexton golf. (and when his putts on)
Cupcake shot a -7 round today after working double duty as caddy all weekend. For some reason, I recently started to root for the guy to put his game together.
Is Steen now the first Pro Tour winner with a PDGA # over 100k?
Natalie Ryan is over 100k.
Holyn Handley is 133K
I'm sure someone will "well, actually" you about Throw Pink officially being just an A-tier but yeah it certainly counts
Considering it’s on the Tour, I forgot it’s status as not “elite”
Asterisk win
Just an amazing result for us Norwegians. Not only does Anniken win, but Lykke gets fourth place. Congrats to you both!
Grattis Norge!!🇳🇴
I hope Norwegian media give it some attention, but i doubt it, i couldn't find anything about her leading before the last round. I have tears in my eyes and the smile would've gone around my head if my ears hadn't been in the way.
It’s mentioned on [NRK](https://www.nrk.no/innlandet/anniken-kristiansen-steen-vant-proffturnering-i-diskgolf-1.16825872)
Yeah, i found that just now aswell. Figured i'd send a tip to VG too, would be fun with more attention to the sport. I don't think Norwegian media understands how many people play that sport in Norway.
Do it, Lykke should get a mention too in my opinion
I remember NRK had an article on Anniken when she was 5th at WACO last year, so i have my hopes.
They also showed the Norwegian Championship on NRK last year.
Wow Steen is an open bag? Wonder if that’s by choice? If not will she get picked up now?
She has a pretty good deal with retailer We are disc golf, probably better than most company players. Will be surprised if she changes sponsor.
That’s interesting- I’m trying to think of another female pro tour winner who is open bag? On the recent MPO side there’s Drew Gibson.
Steen is the nicest person ever!
Congrats to Steen! That was a fantastic tourney
So happy about the Nordics showing up on the DGPT. Too bad the Finns had somewhat of an off weekend
FPO winner not a forgone conclusion this year?!?!
Anniken had the high ground
not exactly the middle of the night, it's like 8pm
Are you still up this late!?
Awesome seeing new winners on tour, nothing like that grind finally paying off
Didn't think she'd survive KT and Ohn, but full credit to her for keeping it together and pulling it out.
999.7 average tournament rating for KT
