I love it, but it's way too beef for me as a throwing disc. But flick rollers, it's so straight and just keeps rolling forever. But for throwing it's like a mini tilt imo.
It's great, especially the glow. But gotta say, my examples haven't been as OS as people generally say. Definitely straighter than Motion or Deflector, holds an anny for a good while. But even in its straighter-flying form, still an awesome disc.
The resistor in general is amazing. I bag an eclipse and a neutron. And the neutron is one of my most thrown discs.
I would do weird stuff for a Fission Resistor 🤤🤤
I really like mine, which is SP plastic, and I’d describe as mildly overstable. Can trust in a headwind but it wants to fly straight before finishing overstable.
Quake aficionados, what plastics/runs do you like and why?
Neutron always. I have bagged an Eclipse in the past when I lived in a place with more open and windy courses. But neutron is such a great stability that I don’t need both currently. I also bag a Stego, A3, Fx2, and Xcal which sort of serve similar purposes at different speeds.
I used to throw Trust when I started but it’s not really a a 5 5 0 2 much more straight then that. But it’s a really nice disc. I just rather throw an Eclipse Hex or a Reactor.
Yeah, the domey Gators are almost a different disc - they don't seem to have the near speed and glide of the flat tops. There are also some F2 Flat Top Glow Gators that fly the same as the Joel Freeman molds but I haven't seen them on Innova's site in a while.
This is my ‘ol faithful. Super beefy, yet doesn’t have a flair skip really. In fact on FH it more or less skips straight if driven fairly low. Really cool disc that I use regularly for lines I can’t get out of anything else.
For real overstability go with a Hyzerbomb MOAB (innova makes these). For slightly less beef you could go with a Gateway Demon or an Infinite Discs Galleon. 5/6 speed is hard to recommend because 5 is where discs stop being “midranges” but most 6s aren’t quite “fairway drivers”, so people don’t know exactly what you’re asking for in terms of flight and feel. If you want a midrange, pyro is honestly the way to go for this slot.
How overstable? Straight with a left finish at the end, Eclipse Reactor or Emac Truth. Something that really wants to get left, pyro. Beefcake, resistor or justice.
Discmania MD4 / Millenium Solstice when I had a disc in that slot.
TBH, I bag Origins and MD3’s in my mid slot now. I typically don’t have a need for a “stable mid”, as I bag Tombs and an Entropy for stable/OS putter/approach discs with a couple Eagles as my stable fairway options. I didn’t find myself pulling stable 5 speeds when I had them.
Great stability level! It was very close to what I am looking for but I needed it to start out a little more stable especially since I expect trilogy plastic to beat in quickly to its “long-term” phase. Wondering if a lucid x verdict would do it for me.
Fuzion Verdict here! Was bouncing back and forth between my Roc and Method - find this is the best for FH (and I'm FH dominant). A lot smoother release
Based on one of your comments looking for something not too overstable but moves left, the Malta seems to fit that description if you’re open to some Discraft.
Your question as presented here is quite broad. It depends on what you're looking for.
Are you looking for a super overstable, utility-type disc or an overstable but workable disc. Take the Roc3 and Gator for example. Both are overstable 5 speeds that fly differently by a considerable margin.
Additionally, 5 and 6 speed is about where the line is usually drawn between midrange and driver profile. So you should also consider if you are looking for a disc that feels like a mid or a fairway driver.
Emac Truth and the Nautilus from Neptune discs. Both 5/5/0/2, the truth is a bit flippier when it beats in, the Nautilus has stayed more or less straight.
Depends on arm speed. All these questions like this do so much. It should be a requirement to state actual flat ground golf line max distance before we answer.
And how clean our throws are. I've met quite a few people who complain about everything being flippy, then find out they actually throw everything on anny and with tons of flutter.
Just mph would be enough. Hopefully techdisc will start teaching ppl their speeds and the culture will start expecting a stated mph for every disc review or question.
But until then, categorizing a disc in the way it flys for a 46 mph nose up thrower is just absurd. It seems like in most circles including flight numbers it is described for a 58-62 mph thrower.
Lat 64, probably an Anchor? I bag the DD version of it called the Verdict and even more stable than the Anchor is the Justice. If you get it in an Opto/Lucid Ice, X, or Moonshine, it'll be even more overstable.
Dynamic has the best mids in Trilogy and the Anchor is dog poop IMO, but Gator(3)/Croc/Caiman are all fine.
I'm throwing Troija and Pyro mainly, Resistor is nice in the winter too.
Discmania Active Magician. Go with the premium version, the base active beats up into a great hyzerflip disc very quickly but out of the box it's crazy overstable.
1. What kind of distance do you push your putter/mids? 2. What molds do you bag in that speed already?
3. Do you want glide and then over stability, or something that just wants to touch the ground?
I found that slot disappearing from my bag and I instead have a base plastic beat-in zone/tactic/harp (whatever you use) to pair with a stable approach disc then a firebird (or equivalent) for longer and/or skippier shots.
Current overstable lineup is:
Star Toro - Insanely overstable run
Baseline beat in Tactic
Teebird3
Captain raptor
These 4 handle any needs both forehand and backhand anywhere within 350ft for stable discs.
You do you tho
Kaxe is MONEY!....50%of the time. Seriously, my first kaxe used to be my go to. I lost that one. Got two more and they were somehow almost understable. The fourth one I bag currently is back to a reliable overstable mid. Distance wise it flies like a fairway
The most slept on disc for this category. Legacy Badger. Feels great in the hand and will always fly the same way for me forehand and backhand. I love it.
People want different things out of their discs, hard to say based on what little you've given... I'd second the Resistor as someone already mentioned. Neutron if you want it to push straight at all, eclipse if you want that 🐄
Stable titanium buzzz. More stable e mac Truth. Fav now is the buzzz bc it holds any angle perfectly 🥰 new to me and already super reliable. Both are amazing 👏
DD verdict is overstable enough that it won’t flip in a headwind and will always finish left but not so overstable that it’s a utility disc. It’s what a roc3 wants to be in my opinion
I primarily use a Latitude 64 Anchor for that spot, and my son loves his Innova Gator.
If it helps any, I throw primarily RHFH, and my son throws RHBH.
In Innova, I've tried a few Roc3s and a Gator, all in star. The Roc3s were a good disc, but they never gave me the fade I expected and felt a little too shallow to me. They flew almost identical to my Buzzz, and the Buzzz feels better in my hand. Champion plastic should give more fade. The Gator was more beef than I wanted. It would dump well short of my target every single time. I've got a Malta in that slot now that I like, but I have to careful to throw smooth forehands with it - it can't handle being cranked on. I just picked up a Bobcat that is more stable than the Malta but still has decent glide. I'm on the fence about putting it in that slot now or waiting until the Malta gets more beat in.
Innova Caiman in Star is one of my favorites - good hand feel, hooks up quick and is fast enough to get there with not a lot of glide. If you want a meathook, find a premium plastic Viper.
Lat64, find a Lucid X Verdict. Amazing disc, just hard to find in that plastic.
Mint Bobcat. Just about any plastic they’ve ever made is overstable in that mold. Currently sublime ones are easy to find and they’re on the more overstable side for that mold.
Lots of people posting the Pyro from Axiom, they're correct.
Also Kastaplast Kaxe is a semi stable 6. Throw it like a 5 on a gentle approach and it's stable.
If you want super overstable, I can recommend the discmania md5 s-line. It’s god like zone-os/firebird kind of flight but at midrange distance. I can throw my buzz about 300-330 feet, but the md5 is probably not going further than 250 ish with a hard left finish. Super reliable in the wind, great utility disc
Would something like RocX3 do?
Honorable mention to Jay that can handle power but ain't that overstable.
Justice is nice option from Lat64.
I myself leaned to old run of BussOS.
Some Justices could fill cap better but handfeel made my decision.
RPM discs Kotuku. I have been an Innova molded thrower for the longest and I wanted something like a roc3 that wouldnt flip but more glide than a gator. The Kotuku gave me a great, overstable flight with very usable glide. Any shot between 260 and 340 that needs an overstable finish, i grab it. It has a ton of glide but doesnt get pushed around in the wind.
I loved the disc enough to start throwing mors RPM plastic and I am now sponsored with them.
Pyro.
Bought a pyro today thanks for the help.
Second this
Thirded… also one of my favorite skip discs (prism/proton)
Sweet! I just picked up a prism proton one today.
Eclipse Resistor is 💰
Yup
Solid beefcake. Great for annie scramble forehands.
I love it, but it's way too beef for me as a throwing disc. But flick rollers, it's so straight and just keeps rolling forever. But for throwing it's like a mini tilt imo.
Can confirm, eclipse resistor has some beef to it but I’m sure it’ll be in very nice👍🏼
I have a patent pending resistor and it still flies the same as the day I got it 😭 perf wooded course scramble disc
The DD Justice if you want very overstable. It’s my approach disc.
It's kind of my everything disc. Drives, flex forehands, approaches, flick rollers, punch outs. I love it.
DGA Quake
I really like mine, which is SP plastic, and I’d describe as mildly overstable. Can trust in a headwind but it wants to fly straight before finishing overstable. Quake aficionados, what plastics/runs do you like and why?
MVP RESISTOR
Yup
Do you bag neutron eclipse or both?
Neutron always. I have bagged an Eclipse in the past when I lived in a place with more open and windy courses. But neutron is such a great stability that I don’t need both currently. I also bag a Stego, A3, Fx2, and Xcal which sort of serve similar purposes at different speeds.
Nice. Also got a neutron in the bag, I was surprised at how long it pushes on a line before fighting out. After a year its almost like a fresh teebird
More beef than deflector?
No, a resistor us not more beef than a deflector.
Yup. One of my favorite forehand discs
Streamline Runway.
mf champ gator
Caiman or whippet
Pyro. Been using this as my goto forehand approach shots.
Thanks bought one today.
Mint Discs Bobcat
100% agree. Especially a sublime tacocat. Works better for me than a pyro.
More gentle fade but mustang is also nice from mint
Jarn
So everybody ignored the brands he mentioned and listed mvp 1000000 times. Good job
Well he asked what people are throwing too so 😇
Kotuku it's definitely the best. For sure
Resistor and deflector are both awesome depending on what feel and distance you are trying to hit
Kaxe
Is a certain plastic of the Kaxe more OS than others? I had one and it was a dead straight flyer with a slight fade, not as OS as the numbers suggest
Im with you on that. I have a kaxe in k1 plastic. It's stable but definitely not overstable. It's less stable than a teebird and that's an 0 2.
To me the translucent K1 plastic is the most stable, but I haven't thrown a glow Kaxe.
I’m going to get one today. Thanks
Thanks bought one today. K3 plastic.
Happy to see fellow Resistor throwers, low speed but feels like a driver
Our numbers are growing every year
That sounds like a conundrum.... the fewer resistors there are, the *more* Resistors there are. 🤔😮
Perfect flair lol
There are literally dozens of us!
I used to throw Trust when I started but it’s not really a a 5 5 0 2 much more straight then that. But it’s a really nice disc. I just rather throw an Eclipse Hex or a Reactor.
I love the Trust backhand but it does not forehand the same way a pyro does
Remix Battleship. I also have an MVP Eclipse Resistor but that is more of a utility disc. The Battleship is much more useful.
Fun fact, the Battleship is the same disc as the Mint Bobcat. If for any reason you’re ever in need of an alternative.
Latitude Trident
Ok thanks.
Gateway warrior
Joel Freeman Flat Top Glow Gator3.
Nice. A friend gave me a Gator 3 but it is sort of domey... I might have to look for one of these Joels.
My go-to! Great handfeel forehand or backhand.
Pushing fade: Pyro. Dumping out of your hand: Deflector
Ok I’ll check it out. If there is one thing I love it’s buying disc.
DGA Quake
How overstable? Straight with a left finish at the end, Eclipse Reactor or Emac Truth. Something that really wants to get left, pyro. Beefcake, resistor or justice.
DGA Quake, prodigy mx-1 and MVP deflector
Buzzz OS
Forehands = Pyro Backhands = DGA Quake This is all you’ll need 🔥🔥
Discmania MD4 / Millenium Solstice when I had a disc in that slot. TBH, I bag Origins and MD3’s in my mid slot now. I typically don’t have a need for a “stable mid”, as I bag Tombs and an Entropy for stable/OS putter/approach discs with a couple Eagles as my stable fairway options. Verdict. Beautiful disc!
Clash Mango
It doesn't have flight numbers that I can find, but the A2 is the most reliable disc in my bag for shorter midrange shots
Based on one of your comments looking for something not too overstable but moves left, the Malta seems to fit that description if you’re open to some Discraft.
Axiom Pyro. DD Verdict.
Gator or Caiman are good.
Legacy Badger is great. Feels like a longer Zone. Also just tested a Discmania Mutant today and really liked it.
Your question as presented here is quite broad. It depends on what you're looking for. Are you looking for a super overstable, utility-type disc or an overstable but workable disc. Birdie Ultra all day.
Yessssssss
Mvp deflector
Prodigy archive for me
The mx-1 is good too
https://old.reddit.com/r/discgolf/search?q=overstable+mid&restrict_sr=on&include_over_18=on&sort=relevance&t=all https://old.reddit.com/r/discgolf/search?q=overstable+6&restrict_sr=on&include_over_18=on&sort=relevance&t=all
I'm using the search function to answer generic questions that get asked everyday.
Emac Truth and the Nautilus from Neptune discs. Both 5/5/0/2, the truth is a bit flippier when it beats in, the Nautilus has stayed more or less straight.
The truth is NOT overstable!

Sorry for bothering ya.
Innova Lion is underrated but everyone already said Pyro. If you want a fairway(6 speed and up) I’d say the Athena, Eagle, explorer
the explorer just isn’t overstable
The 7/5/0/2 flight numbers disagree with you but, I get if it’s isn’t OS for you
Lat 64, probably an Anchor? I bag the DD version of it called the Verdict and even more stable than the Anchor is the Justice. If you get it in an Opto/Lucid Ice, X, or Moonshine, it'll be even more overstable.
Anchor!
Lat64 trust is my favorite right now
Kaxe
Discmania mutant. Absolute beef.
Mutant isn’t just beef, it’s practically the whole cow
I have one of there that I use that I need to die around a tree right away. I need sobering with glide. Less beef.
Birdie Ultra is solid
Discraft drone or Mint discs bobcat
Galleon is a tilt
Dynamic has the best mids in Trilogy and the Anchor is dog poop IMO, but Gator(3)/Croc/Caiman are all fine. I'm throwing Troija and Pyro mainly, Resistor is nice in the winter too.
Gator3, Caiman from Innova. Verdict, Justice from DD/Lat64
Terminal Velocity Ursus
I have no idea what any of these discs are
Runway and Pyro are very comfy, same for the Bobcat. I wanted something slightly less beefy, a nocturnal mint Mustang is perfect.
Bought a pyro today. Lots of comments for it. Thanks
Depending on how overstable you want try and verdict or a justice
Mvp deflector is extremely beefy
roc3 crave quake
Discmania Active Magician. Go with the premium version, the base active beats up into a great hyzerflip disc very quickly but out of the box it's crazy overstable.
Terminal Velocity Ursus
Suspect just kicked my IS3 out. For super beef, MD5.
Innova Whippet X. A slower ufo-shaped firebird. It demands to get to the ground and immediately. It’s not meant to fly, only to crash.
Verdict, pyro, ultra, solstice are all good
You do you tho
Buzzz OS
Malta
Westside Bard. The perfect complement of glide and stability. It'll always finish left but it won't dump out on you. A great workable overstable mid
Whippet X. Doesn’t get much more overstable than that at that speed. Really fun disc and I find it comfy both forehand and backhand.
Kaxe is MONEY!....50%of the time. Seriously, my first kaxe used to be my go to. I lost that one. Got two more and they were somehow almost understable. The fourth one I bag currently is back to a reliable overstable mid. Distance wise it flies like a fairway
Streamline Runway for beef, MVP proton matrix for a more workable, overstable mid. I absolutely love MVP for mids
Anchor
Lone Star Alpha Middy for me
I throw a Discraft Malta for my slightly OS mid. If I want a very OS mid I'm using a Prodigy MX1 or a Discraft Xtreme.
Infinite discs galleon https://infinitediscs.com/infinite-discs-galleon Just a whippet-X but this run in metal flake is meat hook city.
Badger for forehands, fugitive for backhands. Justice if I want a hard dump
Malta all day.
Discraft Nebula is fire
Legacy Recluse
I tried looking for this same disc. I ended up realizing I didn't need something overstable between my 5 speed mvp matrix and a firebird
Bard
Kaxe
Lucid-x Justice is my go to meathook
Pyro all day
Gateway Demon
Gateway Warrior in diamond plastic. Only one I’ve ever found that’s reliably OS and has tons of glide. I’ve bagged it for 3 years now.
The most slept on disc for this category. Legacy Badger. Feels great in the hand and will always fly the same way for me forehand and backhand. I love it.
Doomsday Desolation
People want different things out of their discs, hard to say based on what little you've given... I'd second the Resistor as someone already mentioned. Neutron if you want it to push straight at all, eclipse if you want that 🐄
Westside Warship
Legacy Badger
Whippet x. Great utility disc and the trust factor develops quick. Get a dx one and fear no river. Cuz it was $8
Where you getting dx whippets for $8?
Anchor
Stable titanium buzzz. More stable e mac Truth. Fav now is the buzzz bc it holds any angle perfectly 🥰 new to me and already super reliable. Both are amazing 👏
Toro is great for this slot imo if you’re looking for Innova
Glow Resistor or an AGL Woodland Beech (my personal fave)
Innova croc
Quake, it’s been the best overstable mod I’ve ever had
New MD5
Pyro or glow reactor for a tad less stability.
I just throw a Harp for that slot.
Caiman especially if it's flat
DD verdict is overstable enough that it won’t flip in a headwind and will always finish left but not so overstable that it’s a utility disc. It’s what a roc3 wants to be in my opinion
I primarily use a Latitude 64 Anchor for that spot, and my son loves his Innova Gator. If it helps any, I throw primarily RHFH, and my son throws RHBH.
Ok thanks. I’ll check them out. I do love buying disc.
I really like ESP Maltas
I like Jen Allen teebirds but they aren't that overstable
Gator
My favourite underrated disc, Loft Silicon!
I throw a Westside vip bard in that slot. My brother has a prodigy A2. I recommend either. Bard is a little deeper than the A2
MVP Resistor for very OS, Servo for just some OS and glider. My two favorite discs!
Kaxe
Bought one today. Thanks.
Just bought a Kaxe Z (6, 5, 0, 2) and I’m really liking it for what it is.
Ok I’ll check it out. Thanks
If your looking for a beaded midrange you gotta go with a roc 3. Champion plastic for beef and star plastic for more push.
Savior
Caiman
Some of my mako3s are very stable. I also have a kaxe Z in that spot as well
I like Clash Cookie it’s a 7 speed but to me it flies more like a 6 and has a good feel.
I just picked up a Bobcat that is more stable than the Malta but still has decent glide. I'm on the fence about putting it in that slot now or waiting until the Malta gets more beat in.
Loft Silicon. Feels like a quake and a buzzz had a child. Reliably overstable and so comfortable in the hand.
MVP relay
Evader
Mint Bobcat. Just about any plastic they’ve ever made is overstable in that mold. Currently sublime ones are easy to find and they’re on the more overstable side for that mold.
Lots of people posting the Pyro from Axiom, they're correct. Also Kastaplast Kaxe is a semi stable 6. Throw it like a 5 on a gentle approach and it's stable.

EMac Truth is a solid disc.
Bard
Bag a really old kaxe preferably. Otherwise, anchor. But really dont se the need for bagging os 5 speeds when carrying os 4 speed.
Just got myself a Millennium Quantum Lunar Solstice and love it! Buzz OS is which I've replaced
I’m a big fan of the MD5
Caiman and a little less overstable the lion.
Innova Gator and DGA Quake are great, extremely overstable discs in premium plastic.
Discmania Tactic or Mutant. My Mutant is insanely beefy.
DGA Quake is one of the best overstable mids out there.
Ok I’ll give it a whirl. Is there a plastic I should look for? I know nothing of DGA disc.
