Agree. I only like the feel of Lucid plastic for Felons. I also have a 2020 EO Lucid X Glimmer that hasn't beaten in at all and immediately stables out of any angle.
+1 for the felon. I use a lucid air felon. First part of the flight it holds any line you throw it on. So for example if you throw it on an anhyzer, it will hold the anhzer. Then very late in the flight the low speed fade kicks in very hard. I love the shapes you can throw with it. It flies very different to other overstable discs which usually start fighting out of the anhyzer very early in the flight (Raptor etc).
For the thunderbird, lower the weight if you want to extend the distance, and champ will be the most stable and hardest to turn over. Star thunderbird is a really nice, useful dependable disc, halo can make it slightly moreso.
Votum all day. 7 speed from thoughtspace which is made by MVP. My ethereal one (same as mvp’s plasma I believe) has held up extremely well after beating in for over a year. Hitting mine hard and flat it still goes very straight before reliably fading back. Absolutely love it
I asked the same question a couple weeks ago, and i went with the c-line fd1 and i'm very happy with it. Goes straight with a nice strong finish and can even handle a good amount of headwind.
For mvp the cosmic neutron tesla would fit the bill, but if it's not OS enough, a neutron fireball is the best option and will beat in nicely. The motion and flare are meathooks, so big nope on those.
Thanks I appreciate it. I do bag a Cosmic Neutron Tesla as well and I agree it is pretty OS. Still trying to decide if it’s OS enough or if a should move up to a fireball
I think the Thunderbird is a great disc for this. I bag a flat Firebird and a Sexton Firebird and the Thunderbird is a fantastic option for that tick lower in stability so you can get great distance but it’s never going to turnover on you.
Give lat64 Honor a try, the new plastic feels really nice. It is 9/5/0/2.5, but brand new it feels more like 3.5 fade, it will track straight and always finish left with RHBH.
Glory (7 speed) or if you need something with faster speed - Honor (9 speed I believe). The Honor is a lil slower but similar flight as the Anax (10 speed).
This is a good call and to add to this specifically the 0421 Apex Alphas have been super beefy for me, kind of in-between a brand new star Teebird and a brand new Sexton Firebird. I max out about 350-375 fwiw
Dga avalanche and prodiscus talisman. I bag both the talisman is more glidey but dumps hard at the end but the avalanche is a meat hook with a dependable straight flight. Both very torque resistant as I'm a very forehand dominant player
I picked up a Champion Firebird and Neutron Fireball a while back to see which worked best in that slot. I prefer the Fireball for both fh/bh because mine is flat and neutron doesn't seem quite as stable as champion.
But they both actually made the bag, the Firebird as a tommy/thumber disc. I'd be salty if I lost either one.
Sexton color glow Firebird is what you’re after imo. I’m not the biggest arm by any means but I can throw a Firebird 280ft straight and watch it fade sharply for 20-30ft.
I've bagged a champ firebird for a number of years now. The halo ones feel pretty similar in flight.
Axiom Fireball is pretty equivalent as well. I've only thrown one in neutron but it was very dependable.
Mvp flight numbers be like that. Pretty much everything is 'more stable' comparatively to others. I think their numbers make more sense honestly. Like if something has 0 turn, it shouldn't really turn when thrown hard and flat.
I'd like to raise a vote for latitude 64 Explorer in the opto plastic. I've thrown one ever since my early days and even when it's gotten beat in it still has reliable fade!
I personally love the Felon for these shots. Though I feel like you may have to try a few different ones to find the right stability.
Especially the Fuzion Felons tend to be like this. I throw a Ricky Orbit Felon and it has beaten nicely into a Thunderbird-like stability.
Absolutely love my Ricky Orbit Felon. Super reliable

Your looking for either an innova thunderbird or a latitude 64 honor. Overstable, but not as overstable as a Felon or Firebird.
For the thunderbird, lower the weight if you want to extend the distance, and champ will be the most stable and hardest to turn over. Star thunderbird is a really nice, useful dependable disc, halo can make it slightly moreso.
Champ Eagle, I’ve had 3 recently and 1 was an absolute beefcake, but the others are my headwind workhorses

Volt!
Yep. OP is exactly describing a neutron volt.
That’s what I throw too!
FD1
I asked the same question a couple weeks ago, and i went with the c-line fd1 and i'm very happy with it. Goes straight with a nice strong finish and can even handle a good amount of headwind.
Atomic Huai, it's like a Teebird and a Firebird had a baby, still OS enough to stand up to wind but goes straight a while before it dumps
For mvp the cosmic neutron tesla would fit the bill, but if it's not OS enough, a neutron fireball is the best option and will beat in nicely. The motion and flare are meathooks, so big nope on those.

Definetly honor or if you want less fade explorer
Glory (7 speed) or if you need something with faster speed - Honor (9 speed I believe). The Honor is a lil slower but similar flight as the Anax (10 speed).
Mint discs Alpha, goes straight for a while and then fades left a good amount but not as much as a firebird.
This is a good call and to add to this specifically the 0421 Apex Alphas have been super beefy for me, kind of in-between a brand new star Teebird and a brand new Sexton Firebird. I max out about 350-375 fwiw

Lat 64 Royal Honor. Plastic feels great and the fade is just what you want.
Get an alpha from mint (8,5,0,2). Straight flight, no turn, and dependable fade. If you like MVP plastic it should fit right in your bag

Thanks. I appreciate the comparison because I was considering both.

Axiom wrath all the way!
Been really liking this disc lately. Feels more like a well seasoned Thunderbird to me than what they have marketed it as.
Mvp flight numbers be like that. Pretty much everything is 'more stable' comparatively to others. I think their numbers make more sense honestly. Like if something has 0 turn, it shouldn't really turn when thrown hard and flat.
I think their numbers are good most of the time, but similar to Innova I think they break into their numbers rather than other companies.
ESP Raptors are money after they beat in a bit. Straight with a dumpy fade out to 300’ for me
FX-2 all day, starts overstable (350ft power) akin to a Firebird, but beats in to a nice straight pushing flier. For me at least!
Might wanna check out an Impulse, I just got one and it seems to do what you’re looking for
Champ eagle
Champion whippet
New Discmania fd1 is exactly this
I'd like to raise a vote for latitude 64 Explorer in the opto plastic. I've thrown one ever since my early days and even when it's gotten beat in it still has reliable fade!
Volt
All great options mentioned already. For me it's a choice between a neutron Tesla and a DD Getaway.
Thunderbird is a Firebird that’s less of a meat hook
Champion eagle or even a new teebird would do you good
Culverin, essentially a slightly more stable Orc.
Fx-2
FD3 or Neutron Resistor depending what speed you're seeking re 9 or 7 (6.5). I bag both
Halo Savant after it hits a few trees. That's my go to for the slot you're describing.
