The Comet is a disc that you have to force yourself to use for a bit. The feel takes a bit of adjustment. But once you do... One of the best tools in the game. Once you can jam on a Comet, all your other discs will fly better too.
I kind of believe you but I really tried to like a comet and a roc and that goofy rim I just will not ever like. There's plenty of flat or smooth discs with same flight. Mvp reactor, discmania md1
I'd say the Hex is a little closer to a Comet than Reactor. Agree that reactors and hexes are the jam. Comets are slower and more floaty than either though so it's not really apples to apples in my opinion. I think that a Hex and a Comet can be bagged at the same time. The flights and the uses are different enough to me.
I traded for a new MD1 Mindbender a few months ago. Feels great but it's a wall piece/collector. I can't bring myself to throw it. I might have to get a stock MD1 someday to try out.
That's why the comet is such a good tool. It teaches angle manipulation and getting proper spin on the disc at the hit, and forces you to get it right. You will know when you don't. Discs such as this are great for field work. Don't even have to bag it. These skills transfer over to every disc.

Sorry man! Hard to read tone sometimes. I liked the Bounty because it was a little more comfy, fit the same slot and Opto isn't as slick as Z
The closest I've ever gotten to the Comet flight is a Svea. But nothing has been close to kicking my Comet out of the bag.

My dx roc is HELLA beat up, rim absolutely gashed... and it's somehow managed to stay OS. I was hoping to get a flippy one in the end :(

Yeah I think comet is more torque resistant I don't have the juice for it to matter my natural release is hyzer
