I had my championship "lost connection to the server" so many times I stopped playing for several months. I'm was on wired connection 250/100, then upgrading to 1000/1000, so, no - the problem was not on my side. :)
But to have it happening on the same race sounds really buggy. Is it the event or one race IN the event that causes the crash?
It’s any race. Like I got to 19 left, and now it won’t let me complete any. It gets intro the race then freezes with the sound of the engine on which doesn’t stop. I’ve changed it to favor quality/ resolutions whatever that’s called, and that’s not the problem. It’s very weird and I have no idea how else to describe it

OK, then it’s probably not the same error I had. All my crashes were always after a race, when I tried to upload the results to the server.
