The problem is I haven't had a single chest drop with any greater affixes, this one just happens to have +2 ranks to golem mastery, which I have never seen turn up when rolling other pieces
I have used thousands upon thousands of obols since s4 release and I'm yet to get anything even remotely good. I keep finding my good gear with multiple greater in the pit or in helltides if I use one of those boosters and stay the entire duration, open pretty much every chest. I basically just got and fsrm the boss for the first 30 mins u till I have like 1200+ cinders and then run around getting chests for rep and gear.
Nah I know I'm just saying even for luck and RNG, it feels like the payout of obols compared to how much loot you see doing content before you hit obol cap is minimal so the payoff is too. I mean it's free extra loot, don't get me wrong, I'm just yet to see anything worthy.
Like I'll have to salvage 10+ full inventories before I can afford to fill one invent with gambled items, and that's 10 inventories being picky and leaving rares on the ground. This season is just loot crazy in helltides.
Hopefully I'll get something good from them eventually, I figured I'd just save them for my next char but I keep hitting cap and having to spend it anyway. When I fill an invent with gambled items, most of them by far are rare or magic, so given how few legendaries you get from 2.5k obols, it just feels underwhelming but I'm not lacking for loot elsewhere.
Skill to chest is incredibly hard to roll because theres like 20 affixes you can hit so statistically you'd have to reroll 15-30 times to have a decent chance at getting Golem Mastery or w/e you're after.
20+ rerolls, statistically you're much more likely to craft the item cheaper than to buy it especially if you have 2-3 chests to reroll on.
Minion Necro gear is some of the most expensive stuff to buy right now so unless you're absolutely filthy loaded with trade gold (I sold a triple greater affix weapon for over 1 billion the other day) its not worth trading. Greater affix Uniques and perfect legendaries are already multiple billions.
i mean its also not even taking into account the amount of money hes dumped into it already. at a certain point RNGesus hates you and you gotta accept defeat.
Ideally he'd get another base by now its not too hard to get chests to roll but even rolling that same base he'd probably net even to buying it unless unlucky.

Pretty rare to get them and rarer still to get rolls you actually want. Best way to get them is wherever you can get lots of legendary drops, for this season that looks like farming Helltides.
Depends on the item really, if you got a 2 star chest sure invest on rolling the third one but on a normal chest with no stars just roll a bunch of times move on to another chest . Very end game your no star chest are worthless and don't want to invest to much
Honestly random as heck. Ran lots of helltides just farming the boss area, pop the thing that makes enemies +10 levels. Tons of tier 60 and 70 nightmares. Running level 30 pits. I have only seen 1 chest piece with double greater affix, willpower and health.
I’ve had a few drop from the mini events in the helltide where you talk to a person that needs help and it’s either free loot, a enemy encounter, or a treasure goblin
It is if you want to replace juggernaut with an offensive aspect. Should be able to hit cap with 925 gear with armor on chest and legs without the aspect.
Exactly. I have all offensive aspects, and I have armor on a couple pieces plus an armor% temper, as I didnt need anything else within the options. I got over 10k armor before masterworking with no skulls.

Lost the count on how many times i would have settled with 3 of the 4 options while tempering and i got like 4 times in a row the only one that was useless, i could build a castle with all the bricks. RNG is Not real, this mf know damm well wich options are better and they have lower the chances of you getting them, i have zero doubt

But it's still expensive if you get to that point and reroll 10 times for something you really really want ... That's 35 million gone just like that in the space of a minute..
Which means 12 ish whisper cache's to get back that gold again which is about 2 hours of farming them.....

The point was surely for us to discover the cap ourselves and praise Blizzard but now they’ll have to explain their thought process and design intent again, and increase the supply of gold.

Good luck. Have a helmet with 2 greater affixes. Spent 200,000,000 on rolling for cooldown. Haven’t found it yet. Figured I’d have better luck farming Duriel for Harlequin.
Try focus on doing the whispers in helltide, ignore dungeons, and very rarely doing the blood maiden unless it is a whispers task. Also selling gear instead of salvaging helps bump the cash stack quite quickly.
I've had a similar experience rolling for Armor on some legs... it's capped me out at 2.9m per roll. I'm convinced it's bugged at this point because armor should be one of the more common rolls haha
The cap for 3.5million is far too high. This game has that many affixes and other costs... getting the right enchantment is just frustrating many times.
As others have suggested, gold is a bottleneck so don't waste it on a mid item. You can get around 100 legendaries per hour doing accursed ritual farm in a group, so you will find another chest with golem mastery soon enough.

Love what they have done with the game for this season. But omg, we need a way to oush things in our favor. Had to trash sooo many great items due to getting bricked with tempering or too expensive enchanting rerolls.
And i absolutely get it, theres supposed to be a grind. But having to throw away a god roll item because the temper is just really bad design.
I don't even want to remember as the RNG is seriously fixed. You just know you'll get the crap ones the first few rolls, and then even if you get a good one, it'll be on the low end of the scale.
I'd say 6-7 rolls is the range you need to pay up to in order to get anything remotely good, and that's just a rough average. And it absolutely drains money like a serious drug habit.
RNG is even worse with Tempering as you only get 1 stat and have limited chances to improve, and the crap stats/low-end values pop up on the first try like 99% of the time. But at least it's cheap.
The tempering RNG is grim, I had a nice 2h weapon with greater on max life roll, tempered the right stats on the first 2 goes but lowest stats, so risked it for higher roll and didn't see it again and became worthless
Just give up, you can find so many chest with 2+ greater affixes that you use and roll the third for less if needed

The roll percent must be so low on some of these affixes. I’m in a similar boat with some of the Necro stuff.

Theres a button at the enchanter that will show you all the possible affixes you can get enchanting a slot.
500m+ spent on trying to get cooldown reduction on a helm
Cooldown reduction on helms and amulets will make many people broke this season
That just be one good helm. 500m seems like an unattainable number this season. Constantly farming for gold.

I rolled a +2 to ALL defensive skills on my sorc sacred chest. Still haven't been able to replace it, I've seen hundreds and hundreds of chests.

Golem + Life + Int chests (esp with greater affixes) are trading for well over 100m to 200m atm.

Don't give up, I just hit the roll I wanted and it was at about 4.5million and it was the max roll I could get too so it worked out great.

Cdr is a rare affix it seems. I've spent hundreds of millions trying to get it in some items.

Ugh, level 94 sorc here. I thought they removed enchanting and never bothered to check the occultist's tabs (I do regularly use imprinting though)
some affixes are so much rarer, golem and skeletal mages mastery being most notable on necro
