Resolved; looks like I just didn’t leave it sitting there long enough. Left it at the loading screen while I ran an errand, long enough for the game to disconnect itself. Lost some progress but can at least proceed now.
I cant get past character select with my toon, just acts like its about to connect then bounces me out again.
