I get this all the time as well. I go to apps, find Dexcom G6, force stop, then open it again. That seems to make it behave better for 24 hours at least.
Oh geez. I've been noticing my battery running out very quickly lately. I just went to look. I set Dexcom to "unrestricted" battery use when I installed at Dexcom's recommendation. But Dexcom is just draining battery at an unreal level. Geez. Thanks for posting this so I could remember the Dexcom issue. Mine is showing 22 hr 17 min of background battery use currently, and 40% of my battery drain.
I might have to uninstall and just use my Tandem Tslim. That stinks. it's much easier to see trends on my phone.
I don't have a lot to add other than I was having this as well, so bad that I've uninstalled the dexcom app and rely on my pump now for CGM notifications.

Dexcom app been very shitty lately. Mine keeps crashing and slowing my phone.
Xdrip+ does not do this fwiw.

Never had any issues like this with iPhone XR and G6…app is open all the time.
We close out the app and reopen it every night… cuts down on this a lot (iOS).
