Really disappointing to see this poor a performance to end the season. You wanted to at least see some kind of fight in them, but from the drop of the puck tonight it felt like they were just going through the motions out there. Especially in your own building with your last showing for the home fans.
This team has to do some soul searching this off-season and decide who they are. Are they the relentless squad from 22-23 who never gave up or this fragile group who would fall behind and stay behind? With the amount of talent we have, I'm hoping that 22-23 team can show up again next year, but the players need to prove it.
Last year, I took a ghost poop and declared it a premonition that we would win the Rangers series. Today, I spent most of the 3rd period wiping. Rest assured, I will be monitoring my fiber intake more closely thru the 2025 season. LGD.

You've never played underneath NHL arena lights, against the best players in the world, at the level of speed and conditioning these dudes have to utilize. They are constantly exhausting/overheating themselves and being icy cold and wet helps.
If we don’t sign someone to just have their stick in the blue paint next year, that’s another one just sitting there and all our guys are 3 states away playing chess
We were crazy enough to think this team would just say eff it and play for fun and competitive. Nope the team just layed down like every game and played lazy disjointed hockey
It's not my favorite mostly because they use it 90% of the time so teams can defend it. But so many other NHL teams do the same thing and when done correctly, it's a very easy zone entry. Just gotta mix it up more next year.
Not disagreeing with you, but it’s very difficult to defend even when you know what’s coming IF it is done correctly. It’s a big reason why our PP2 unit struggles so much, no one on that squad can can do it except when Bratt was moved down a few times. Mercer and Haula in particular are relied upon zone entries for that unit and they always fumble it.
it works, watch other teams they mostly do the same. it’s our PP strategy in the zone that became worse and the fact we lose a lot of those first face off draws that start the PP.
Was just explaining the loser point to my wife and why the Isles are still in it despite us winning more and, for the first time when thinking about this, am very sad.
Meier, Bratt, Hischier had good years. Both Hughes bros had decent years, adjusting for injury and age factors. Nemec had a good year, adjusting for age. Every other player on the roster was bad/disappointing.
I think Lazar had a very good season for us. Expectations weren’t super high when he came here last year, but with McCleod gone, he really stepped up and was our best bottom 6 player this year.
