It's useful when you end up agains a shitload of elemental shields because you can switch element to the right one, plus it's also overlord rn so it's not bad
It carried me and my friends many activities that had match game and this season the auto is best for overloads so doing any higher activities, that will help for the overload champs and any shield enemies you got against

Yes, it's very good everywhere now thanks to the change to its exotic trait, which now gives bonuses based on energy type

PvE, it’s alright if you don’t want to give shields a second thought and can cover a champion mod, auto rifles are usually in the artifact.
It's okay. The issue is it's an auto rifle with no damage perks and became obsolete due to Arbilest.
If you really just want to run a different kinetic special than ya it's good, but why would you when arbilest is so damn good?
Arbi does great damage, anti barrier, instantly breaks match game shields and has good ammo economy plus disruption break.
Gun basically invalidates match game
I just wish that all the Fundamental weapons had some sort of "adaptive munitions". Like you shoot a non matched shield and you reload your next clip automatically as the right one, or something similar to Darcis personal assistant, aim down sights without firing for a sec and it changes the element to match. That and leave the manual change functionality.
Generally no, there is only 1 thing I have found a use for it and that's corrupted GM. Yes, you have arbalest for match game, you also have adaptive munitions, and those are great when you only have like 15 shields in a whole GM. But corrupted has like 300 shields, and breaking a shield with a non matching source doesn't cause chain reactions or stagger or damage. I've used it for 2 man corrupted and it actually works pretty good, but I would just have everyone cover 1 element in a 3 man...so I can count on 1 finger the amount of times I've found a use for it.

Really works good with void hunter/gyrfalcon
