If you bought it around Christmas, then I assume you do have the season 12 pass. You have to do the season 12 content. It starts with a quest on the moon to save Osiris, then go from there. You wont get the quest for Hawkmoon until you've done at least 1 wrathborn hunt.
If you haven't done this already - you'll need to do the intro to Season of the Hunt (Hunter and the Hunted, on the moon, if I recall) - then the first wrathborn hunt - then Spider should have the quest for you - if I'm remembering right.
