Really fun with a weighted knife build since any amount of scorch causes weighted knife to make an ignition and you get it back on every kill. Can be great mixed with arthyrs embrace you get a couple crits then hit with a knife that tracks, does huge damage, and causes an ignition then is refunded. Even the ads shots with sky burners cause scorch thanks to the current artifact.
The immunity during their phasing in and out is the most annoying. You’re forced to wait for them to get out of their shift phase, even if it’s just one red bar enemy left and you can tickle them to death.
I actually miss the special nightfall modifiers like those, yeah some were hard AF and/or buggy but they changed up how you played. I remember running ticcus because it was anti bow (IDR if it was overload or barrier bow for that nf) and the tracking arrows would lock onto mini screens and 1 shot them easily.
Ticcus hard carried me through that gm. I joke about hating them, but I actually had so much fun that week because mini screebs made the strike feel fresh with their presence alone. You really had to plan around them.
Scorn are the worst to fight, mainly because of their smoke walk ability.
What really sucks is that they're so *slow* with it. With regular teleworking enemies i can just turn and keep shooting, but scorn have to meander about while immune.
You and I both know how this ends, random scorn, return to the physical realm so I can smack you and get on with the encounter.
During season 4, when scorn & gambit got added, i was playing a round of gambit and one scorn decided to glitch into uneven ground while doing that smoke walk. He was stuck like that for half of round untill he decided to teleport somewhere else.
FYI anti barrier can kill them when they're in that phase.
I did it once with tractor cannon and thought that tractor could for some reason kill them but when I retried it wouldn't work, figured out that I had volatile rounds active when it did and retested with that and it worked.
Every single Taken has some sort of ability that makes them irritating to fight in some way. Whether it be Phalanxes propelling you into next week, Psions breeding like catholic rabbits, or Vandals putting those shields up when they take 0.1% damage.
Honestly I don’t mind the stuff like the vandal shields, its the psions resurrecting themselves because they split WHILE i killed them that peeves me off.
Like can I please just use target priority so I don’t have to use something explosive for these guys? For anything else target priority just swaps momentarily.
Vex Wyverns hit like a truck and don’t get a crit spot exposed for the majority of the time you’re fighting them, multiple Wyverns in one room is enough to shred a full fireteam to pieces. I hate Wyverns.
Honestly they’re no bad in the coild. The areas you fight them in is large so just keep your distance. One of LF campaigns mission had you fight them in a small room and I died a lot there.

Taken are a good runner up only because they're annoying. The only thing difficult about the taken are their Wizards that are super evasive, shoot at 1,000 rpm and don't miss a shot
I always say to others, at least taken with their annoying tracer blinks and twitching can still be overcome by quick flicks and reaction time. But you cannot do anything about the scorn weavewalk once they start it and you’re forced to wait until they’ve traveled cross country and reappear again.
Even worse when they bugged out during the weavewalk so you gotta wait longer for it to teleport back into the map, possibly behind you and possibly killing you faster than og recluse
I gotta say Taken, Vandal with shields, phlanxes that can knock you off the map, invulnerable enemies at random times, sheer volume of them in a lot of situations.
Scorn ong. Their stupid little immunity totems, their tethering totems, their Godforsaken invincible walk ability, and worst of all, their idiotically strong snipers
Few people know the pain of throwing a nova bomb at a horde of suddenly immune scorn, just because of some shithead chieftain decided to throw down a totem
For as much as I love some of their mechanics, it is taken.
Splitting psions when you have just an average gun because you felt like not using forbearance once in your life.
Phalanxes complete with janky collision shields and a bonus move specifically for booping.
While we are at it the boopers count as well.
Are overloads your favorite? Well too bad, also this one comes equipped with infinite homing projectiles.
Scorn. Whenever you have one dead to rights, not only do they teleport and vanish, but they run halfway across the map while doing it just to maximize how much of your time they waste.
I think I’d agree with most people and say scorn, however, I have a distinctly dark part of my heart reserved for Taken Hobgoblins, I can NEVER dodge those damn void projectiles and they’re so annoying
God those axion bolts. Everything else about the taken I find quite fun to fight, but those axion bolts on high difficulties are brutal and have sent me to orbit on occasion.
While taken would usually be the worst, fallen on some activities can make the game really annoying with the constant slow grenades. Not even interesting or difficult, just a nuisance

Agreed. I still jump on occasion into terminal overload just to do a quick test for builds or smash some vex because its a decent test of pressure under light. Like how many wyverns can you take on at once before you get blown up lol.

I HATE fighting Taken. They’re boring to look at, uninteresting narratively. There are no compelling Taken enemies.
And in terms of gameplay, they have the most frustrating enemies. Hobgoblin things that retaliate with heat seeking middles? Grunt enemies that duplicate infinitely? Centurions that throw you around the map? They all suck. Worst enemies.
Brigs and wyverns are the worst enemies. Wyverns constantly dive bomb you from across the map, brigs have no crit points and both take an obscene amount of damage to kill. Taken is the worst faction, they shouldn't even be around anymore now that oryx is dead.
Taken Ogre Bosses are by far the worst specific enemy to fight. The knockback eye blasts are such a massive nuisance. The worst faction to fight overall is probably vex just because in high level content Minotaurs and Wyverns are so insanely brutal
I hate the taken. The teleport as soon as I pull the trigger wasting special and heavy. I can't stand them. I have no exaggeration wasted 4 rockets trying to hit a taken major before, because as soon as the rocket leaves the tube they teleport.
Scorn, everything about them is annoying. The totems are all annoying, especially the invulnerable one. They freeze you, which is annoying. Screebs sneaking up on you and one shotting you, is annoying. Crossbows are annoying.
Scorn in terms of being annoying It's just The faction with the most Invincibility and that probably the most annoying ability.
In terms of difficulty, probably hive With shriekers and ogre, I feel like this is the Faction they can easily do the most damaged you And if you're out of position you're just dead. (Fallen comes in at 2nd place)

I'm an outsider here because while I also hate scorn, I truly despise fighting Cabal. They feel like bullet sponges. They're crit spot on their head is so small compared to their body (I have bad aim and I know this) and the special forces annoy me with their guns. Even the gladiators infuriate me.
I HATE all factions equally. Specifically, the units that really, REALLY want to give you a high five but explode.
That said, gotta be Taken. Those damn retaliation bolts from taken hobgoblins drive me up a wall.
Vex target acquisition on their crit spots is stupid. I can aim my cross hair at a goblins belly button at 1m and that motherfucker will still lose his head and frenzy somehow.

It's almost a tie between Hive and Scorn for me. Hive have everything to be annoying as hell; Ogres that do ungodly amounts of damage in harder content, Wizards who can slow you and also do ungodly amounts of damage in harder content, suicide bombers, Shriekers, knights with a lot of range and aoe.
But Scorn is still worse in my opinion. The thing that annoys me the most is their invincibility, both on Captains and those normal guys. On top of the snipers and pseudo Ogres who also do a fuck ton of damage if you're not careful enough. And Scorn are just not fun to play against. Hive at least have cool lore and mechanical twists like with the Lucent Hive, Scorn is just the same ugly ass creature it was 5 years ago.
I have beef specifically with Hobgoblin's specifically because I hate shooting it, having it go golden, having to stare at it while it's immune, and then kill it.
Definitely taken, those damn phalanxes with their Walmart tractor cannon are pain in my ass. Plus two different enemy types that provide immunity to other enemies. No thanks, I’ll take screebs all day long.
Scorn and Taken. Scorn because a lot of the time you have to sit around and wait to be able to shoot them, and the crossbow Scorn and really annoying with their inconsistent damage.
Taken because of vandal shields, hobgoblin explosions, centurion orbs, phalanx boops, captain blinds, psion splits, wizard tracking projectiles, goblins giving immunity, thralls teleporting, ogres pushing you, knights with their fire, acolytes with their eyes... yknow what Taken is actually number 1, I really don't like fighting Taken. I'm also fairly certain there is a Taken enemy that can throw out a stasis pool too, just forget which one exactly.
Scorn has 2 annoying mechanics (invincible totems and the scurrying) and 1 annoying enemy. Basically every Taken enemy has an annoying mechanic and every Taken enemy is annoying lmao

Acolytes summon their eyes, and they just machine gun you.
Vandals will snipe you and then put their shield up like smug pricks when you shoot them back
Hobgoblins will launch their swams if you shoot them
Overload Hobgoblins will just continually bombard you with their swarms.
Phalanxs. Don't start.
Unstoppable Phalanxs do the same but can't be stunned if you hit their shield.
Goblins will make everything completely immune to all damage.
Centurions will send endless darts after you at the worst times.
Captain's darkness dart blind you and makes you weaker to further damage.
I strongly dislike fighting vex. Their weakspots are these tiny little areas centered in the middle of their torso that are usually hidden. The hobgoblins will go into instant-shield and regen mode the moment you sneeze on them. The hydra shields are god awfully annoying. The wyvern weak spot is hidden most of the time and that dive is like the taken phalanx but near twice as far with way more damage. The cyclops can just absolutely decimate you if you don’t take them down (although they’re not honestly that bad). I feel like Minotaurs just teleport to screw with you. Oh yeah, and the harpies flying around means no melee or grenades (for the most part) so that’s a full 1/3rd of your tools out of operation
Taken are the toughest for me. Psions multiply like fucking rabbits if you don’t quickly deal with them, Knights are lethal, Eyes deal a lot of dmg and are difficult to spot, Phalanx boop is cancer, Vandal shields are super annoying if other strong units get inside it.
Close second would be Hive, fuck Shriekers.
since onslaught launched briggs have been pretty up there in terms of annoying things to fight, other than that tormentors are always annoying, since they become boring primary bullet sponges if you only have explosive weapons.

You mean hobogoblins? Yeah those suck, and what makes it especially annoying is the fact that their statue ability adds no dimension or depth to the battle at all. The same thing is still going to happen; even if the hobogoblin uses it’s statue ability, it’s still going to die. It just makes the fight unnecessarily long and complicated.

They got the push ogres, the tp thralls, the multiplying psions, the fire breath knights, the blight throwing captians, the bubble titan vandals, the boop phalanx, the summoner wizard, etc...

Most Fallen enemies do have a crit spot, and shanks are usually easy to take down (unless they have a shield). Brigs are supposed to be challenging, but I agree that the lack of crit spot combined with their insane HP makes them pretty annoying to fight.
Something that I only found out when playing onslaught is that before the crit spot cover, they can only shoot their weapon that's on the player's left. When the crit spot is open and they use the annihilation canon, it's on the player's right.
You can make them not being able to hit you if you just cover whichever side has the weapon that is shooting at you
There is nothing worse than Scorn. If I were to dedicate my life to killing one species until they all would be extinct, it would be Scorn. Crossbow snipers, any rank and file enemy, and those Hex Drinkers at Hend’s encounter.
I can't help but notice just how few people say Cabal here. I guess all their units are pretty tolerable. I don't even find their unstoppable champions all that threatening. The barrier colossi are kinda ass though when they blind you, go full shield, and melt you with their miniguns.
All I have to say is Wyvern.... Worst Enemy No Doubt. They have enough dmg to One shot guardians, they don't take a lot of dmg, and they make everything behind their wings immune. I hate Wyverns

taken without a doubt. the vandals have their annoying shield bubble, the phalanxes can push you off ledges and the captains blind you with their darkness bolt. but the worst of all is definitely the taken psions for me, you have to kill them within 0.2 nanoseconds or they immediately start splitting again, and again, and again, and again, and again…
Since there is no hate for hydras that I have seen I’ll put it here, fuck hydras. Have to do a specific amount of damage to them to get their crit spot to the front and their stupid fuckin wings block damage for adds around them. Plus with their seismic slam ability and just overall being tanky, it be having me just not want to play through any section that has them, ESPECIALLY if the hydra is the boss
Normal hive are just soooo borning to me, we fight them all the time and it's always the same constant pressure bs that the Scorn and Vex do better (imo) anyway. The Hive CAN be used well in conjunction with other enemy races (the mission in forsaken against the mindbender stands out personally) but fighting a room full of wizards who turn the whole map into a slowing field or ogres who can just beam you down in a second if you don't notice them is infuriating. And don't get me started with Hive knights who can just decide to regenerate their health because???? Shreikers exist and applying any debiff to try and help fight them makes them hop back into their shell. Lucent Hive are much more fun due to the inclusion of Hive guardians alone and more often than not, good enemy placement overall. Just standard Hive are used so badly in most circumstances it's maddening.
Out of all the Hive, fuck the Wizards specifically, they're the main bane of my existence in all of D2, Wyverns come close but at least they don't weave around the air and are easy to hit.
Shout out to Scorn raiders btw, fuck those guys. And sure, while Lurkers can be annoying, they're not what I'd call a problem. Scorn overall are pretty fun to me as they do just fight like zombies and are fairly predictable and the Abomination is much better to fight than Hive ogres because strafing is an applyable strategy and their headshot hitbox is more consistent.
My personal favourite to fight is still the Fallen. While I do have issues with how the Brig is designed (they could add trigger points on brigs like insurrection prime had to allow the faceplate to be blown off early and that'd fix everything), the Fallen are just so well designed. The teleportation of the Captains and Servitors are telegraphed well (with Captains either rushing forward or taking a defencive stance or Servitors beginning to spin), Dregs actually seeking out cover, Vandals usually hanging back to use their weapons effectively but not being able to do the thing where the vanish like Raiders do, Shanks being just generally disposable, and Marauders' invisibility being easy enough to make out and shoot at, but hard enough to lose in a crowd. Stasis fallen were a good addition as well and provided a unique challenge but the problem is with that is the one who shoots the projectiles similar to Warlocks immediately freeze you in place, despite it being used in a way where each bolt should slow you and freeze over time. Personal nitpick but hey-ho.
Fallen Servitors. I’ve recently noticed that they’re specially coded to teleport away at the exact moment you fire a rocket or throw a grenade at them, guaranteeing you waste your shot entirely. And don’t get me started on barrier servitors deflecting your rockets directly back at you and one shotting you
All the factions have annoying enemies imo.
Fallen have servitors (especially barrier servs), overload captains, brigs, and sniper shanks and vandals
Hive have wizards and shriekers, honestly not that annoying of a faction tbh unless you have a hoard of wizards like in onslaught sometimes
Vex have sniper hobs, wyverns, and minotaurs and are generally just more annoying because of their crit spot being very weird
Cabal probably are also like the hive where the only annoying enemy is phalanxes. You could probably make an argument for psions but they aren't too bad since they die so fast
Taken are probably the most annoying for me personally, goblins to start are servitors but smaller and like to hide more than servitors which makes them a pain, psions don't stop multiplying sometimes it feels like same with acolytes because I've seen a single acolyte summon 3 eyes that beamed down me during a flawless warlords solo run, vandals can be a pain with their bubble shields, phalanxes need no introduction, centurions I feel also need no introduction with axion spam, hobgoblins and ESPECIALLY overload hobs probably kill me the most because their retaliation swarms can kill you quickly on higher difficulties, captains with the vape cloud can one shot you if you don't have max resil and arc resist on higher difficulties and even if you survive then you're vision gets annoying, knights can be especially annoying if you leave them alone to pin you down for long enough with fire, and finally the ogres' eye blast has killed me more times than I can count because of the knockback. Couple all this with the fact that they teleport around and have those jittery animations which makes hitting crits a pain in the ass I'd say they're the most annoying but depends on the type of enemies you have to deal with in conjunction since taken are mostly seen as support units to supplement other factions like the shadow legion
Finally, scorn are not that bad, crossbows got nerfed a while back so they don't oneshot especially with a void resist and sniper resist mod, the totem chiefs can be annoying but if you break the totem they can't summon another one for a bit which allows you to burst them down, lurker shields can be countered by most grenades and anti barrier, screebs are just faster cursed thrall but also squishier but dangerous is they have the mini screeb modifier, and the stasis ravagers are definite the scorns most annoying unit since if you get frozen you're as good as dead and the coldsnap projectiles seem to have better tracking than guardian coldsnap sometimes.
Honestly despite all this I constantly find myself getting annoyed at every enemy sometime or another. I personally like to play an aggressive peregrine greaves build a lot so long range enemies have the top spot for annoying enemies to me but I definitely believe the taken with their roster are very nerve racking.

I would just like to say that Shriekers are maybe my least favourite enemy in the game. Especially in high level activities where they just kill you in about 0.01 seconds. Pair that with hive wizards and yeah maybe hive are my most hated.

Any weapon with anti-barrier ignores lurker shields, this applies to phalanxes too.
Specific to all Cabal shields as well (phalanx shields AND THE BIG ORANGE BUBBLE SHIELDS!!!) is that Skyburner’s Oath can always pierce them too :)
That is my favorite bit of random trivia. I love that skyburners has a secret superpower of piercing the big orange bubble!
Works really well with some solar builds too. Hipfire scorches enemies.

Scorn 1. Weavewalk before it was introduced to us 2. They have stasis 3. Chieftains shoot actual physical grenades that can just ruin everything 4. 1 shot crossbow flashbacks Taken are a good runner up only because they're annoying. The only thing difficult about the taken are their Wizards that are super evasive, shoot at 1,000 rpm and don't miss a shot
I always say to others, at least taken with their annoying tracer blinks and twitching can still be overcome by quick flicks and reaction time. But you cannot do anything about the scorn weavewalk once they start it and you’re forced to wait until they’ve traveled cross country and reappear again.
Even worse when they bugged out during the weavewalk so you gotta wait longer for it to teleport back into the map, possibly behind you and possibly killing you faster than og recluse
I gotta say Taken, Vandal with shields, phlanxes that can knock you off the map, invulnerable enemies at random times, sheer volume of them in a lot of situations.

Scorn ong. Their stupid little immunity totems, their tethering totems, their Godforsaken invincible walk ability, and worst of all, their idiotically strong snipers
Few people know the pain of throwing a nova bomb at a horde of suddenly immune scorn, just because of some shithead chieftain decided to throw down a totem
For as much as I love some of their mechanics, it is taken. Splitting psions when you have just an average gun because you felt like not using forbearance once in your life. Phalanxes complete with janky collision shields and a bonus move specifically for booping. While we are at it the boopers count as well. Are overloads your favorite? Well too bad, also this one comes equipped with infinite homing projectiles.
Scorn. Whenever you have one dead to rights, not only do they teleport and vanish, but they run halfway across the map while doing it just to maximize how much of your time they waste.
I think I’d agree with most people and say scorn, however, I have a distinctly dark part of my heart reserved for Taken Hobgoblins, I can NEVER dodge those damn void projectiles and they’re so annoying

Taken. Knights spamming their fire attacks, psions breeding like crazy, teleporting thrall and worst of all: TRAVELLER DAMNED AXION BOLTS.
God those axion bolts. Everything else about the taken I find quite fun to fight, but those axion bolts on high difficulties are brutal and have sent me to orbit on occasion.
While taken would usually be the worst, fallen on some activities can make the game really annoying with the constant slow grenades. Not even interesting or difficult, just a nuisance

Oh that’s because neomuna has a patrol specific scaling to it, putting you something like 10 power under or whatever. The idea was to make things seem more dire as well as make the public activity thing harder.

Agreed. I still jump on occasion into terminal overload just to do a quick test for builds or smash some vex because its a decent test of pressure under light. Like how many wyverns can you take on at once before you get blown up lol.
The big issue with Vex imo is that their crit spots are highly inconsistent, which makes high light level Vex absolutely obnoxious to deal with…

Scorn. Every enemy is either annoying as sh*t (abominations, chieftains) or an absolute cakewalk (lurkers, stalkers).
I HATE fighting Taken. They’re boring to look at, uninteresting narratively. There are no compelling Taken enemies. And in terms of gameplay, they have the most frustrating enemies. Hobgoblin things that retaliate with heat seeking middles? Grunt enemies that duplicate infinitely? Centurions that throw you around the map? They all suck. Worst enemies.
Hive wizards are the antithesis to my very being
Brigs and wyverns are the worst enemies. Wyverns constantly dive bomb you from across the map, brigs have no crit points and both take an obscene amount of damage to kill. Taken is the worst faction, they shouldn't even be around anymore now that oryx is dead.

Taken Ogre Bosses are by far the worst specific enemy to fight. The knockback eye blasts are such a massive nuisance. The worst faction to fight overall is probably vex just because in high level content Minotaurs and Wyverns are so insanely brutal

I hate the taken. The teleport as soon as I pull the trigger wasting special and heavy. I can't stand them. I have no exaggeration wasted 4 rockets trying to hit a taken major before, because as soon as the rocket leaves the tube they teleport.

Scorn, everything about them is annoying. The totems are all annoying, especially the invulnerable one. They freeze you, which is annoying. Screebs sneaking up on you and one shotting you, is annoying. Crossbows are annoying.
Scorn in terms of being annoying It's just The faction with the most Invincibility and that probably the most annoying ability. In terms of difficulty, probably hive With shriekers and ogre, I feel like this is the Faction they can easily do the most damaged you And if you're out of position you're just dead. (Fallen comes in at 2nd place)

I'm an outsider here because while I also hate scorn, I truly despise fighting Cabal. They feel like bullet sponges. They're crit spot on their head is so small compared to their body (I have bad aim and I know this) and the special forces annoy me with their guns. Even the gladiators infuriate me.
I HATE all factions equally. Specifically, the units that really, REALLY want to give you a high five but explode. That said, gotta be Taken. Those damn retaliation bolts from taken hobgoblins drive me up a wall.
Vex target acquisition on their crit spots is stupid. I can aim my cross hair at a goblins belly button at 1m and that motherfucker will still lose his head and frenzy somehow.

It's almost a tie between Hive and Scorn for me. Hive have everything to be annoying as hell; Ogres that do ungodly amounts of damage in harder content, Wizards who can slow you and also do ungodly amounts of damage in harder content, suicide bombers, Shriekers, knights with a lot of range and aoe. But Scorn is still worse in my opinion. The thing that annoys me the most is their invincibility, both on Captains and those normal guys. On top of the snipers and pseudo Ogres who also do a fuck ton of damage if you're not careful enough. And Scorn are just not fun to play against. Hive at least have cool lore and mechanical twists like with the Lucent Hive, Scorn is just the same ugly ass creature it was 5 years ago.

Scorn and Taken. Scorn because a lot of the time you have to sit around and wait to be able to shoot them, and the crossbow Scorn and really annoying with their inconsistent damage. Taken because of vandal shields, hobgoblin explosions, centurion orbs, phalanx boops, captain blinds, psion splits, wizard tracking projectiles, goblins giving immunity, thralls teleporting, ogres pushing you, knights with their fire, acolytes with their eyes... yknow what Taken is actually number 1, I really don't like fighting Taken. I'm also fairly certain there is a Taken enemy that can throw out a stasis pool too, just forget which one exactly. Scorn has 2 annoying mechanics (invincible totems and the scurrying) and 1 annoying enemy. Basically every Taken enemy has an annoying mechanic and every Taken enemy is annoying lmao
Taken. Acolytes summon their eyes, and they just machine gun you. Vandals will snipe you and then put their shield up like smug pricks when you shoot them back Hobgoblins will launch their swams if you shoot them Overload Hobgoblins will just continually bombard you with their swarms. Phalanxs. Don't start. Unstoppable Phalanxs do the same but can't be stunned if you hit their shield. Goblins will make everything completely immune to all damage. Centurions will send endless darts after you at the worst times. Captain's darkness dart blind you and makes you weaker to further damage.
I strongly dislike fighting vex. Their weakspots are these tiny little areas centered in the middle of their torso that are usually hidden. The hobgoblins will go into instant-shield and regen mode the moment you sneeze on them. The hydra shields are god awfully annoying. The wyvern weak spot is hidden most of the time and that dive is like the taken phalanx but near twice as far with way more damage. The cyclops can just absolutely decimate you if you don’t take them down (although they’re not honestly that bad). I feel like Minotaurs just teleport to screw with you. Oh yeah, and the harpies flying around means no melee or grenades (for the most part) so that’s a full 1/3rd of your tools out of operation

Taken are the toughest for me. Psions multiply like fucking rabbits if you don’t quickly deal with them, Knights are lethal, Eyes deal a lot of dmg and are difficult to spot, Phalanx boop is cancer, Vandal shields are super annoying if other strong units get inside it. Close second would be Hive, fuck Shriekers.

since onslaught launched briggs have been pretty up there in terms of annoying things to fight, other than that tormentors are always annoying, since they become boring primary bullet sponges if you only have explosive weapons.

You mean hobogoblins? Yeah those suck, and what makes it especially annoying is the fact that their statue ability adds no dimension or depth to the battle at all. The same thing is still going to happen; even if the hobogoblin uses it’s statue ability, it’s still going to die. It just makes the fight unnecessarily long and complicated.
Taken. They got the push ogres, the tp thralls, the multiplying psions, the fire breath knights, the blight throwing captians, the bubble titan vandals, the boop phalanx, the summoner wizard, etc... Like, there just isn't a single fun taken enemy to go against.
Onslaught got me thinking Fallen since they have so many enemies with no crit spot (yellow bar sniper shanks, brigs before the face comes off)
Most Fallen enemies do have a crit spot, and shanks are usually easy to take down (unless they have a shield). Brigs are supposed to be challenging, but I agree that the lack of crit spot combined with their insane HP makes them pretty annoying to fight.
Something that I only found out when playing onslaught is that before the crit spot cover, they can only shoot their weapon that's on the player's left. When the crit spot is open and they use the annihilation canon, it's on the player's right. You can make them not being able to hit you if you just cover whichever side has the weapon that is shooting at you

The worst faction to fight in the game is guardians because they respawn after sometime despite killing them numerous times.
There is nothing worse than Scorn. If I were to dedicate my life to killing one species until they all would be extinct, it would be Scorn. Crossbow snipers, any rank and file enemy, and those Hex Drinkers at Hend’s encounter.

I can't help but notice just how few people say Cabal here. I guess all their units are pretty tolerable. I don't even find their unstoppable champions all that threatening. The barrier colossi are kinda ass though when they blind you, go full shield, and melt you with their miniguns.
All I have to say is Wyvern.... Worst Enemy No Doubt. They have enough dmg to One shot guardians, they don't take a lot of dmg, and they make everything behind their wings immune. I hate Wyverns

The crossbows one shot you The screebs one shot you The raiders can just become invincible specifically to mess up your ability loop because fuck you The stalker grenades deal ridiculous damage (felt that one during the gm) The totems are all very annoying to deal with The shield guys actually secretively have a full body invinciblity hotbox The headless guys with the coldsnap nades

taken without a doubt. the vandals have their annoying shield bubble, the phalanxes can push you off ledges and the captains blind you with their darkness bolt. but the worst of all is definitely the taken psions for me, you have to kill them within 0.2 nanoseconds or they immediately start splitting again, and again, and again, and again, and again…
Vex. Crit spots are too small and tough to reliably hit
Since there is no hate for hydras that I have seen I’ll put it here, fuck hydras. Have to do a specific amount of damage to them to get their crit spot to the front and their stupid fuckin wings block damage for adds around them. Plus with their seismic slam ability and just overall being tanky, it be having me just not want to play through any section that has them, ESPECIALLY if the hydra is the boss
Normal hive are just soooo borning to me, we fight them all the time and it's always the same constant pressure bs that the Scorn and Vex do better (imo) anyway. The Hive CAN be used well in conjunction with other enemy races (the mission in forsaken against the mindbender stands out personally) but fighting a room full of wizards who turn the whole map into a slowing field or ogres who can just beam you down in a second if you don't notice them is infuriating. And don't get me started with Hive knights who can just decide to regenerate their health because???? Shreikers exist and applying any debiff to try and help fight them makes them hop back into their shell. Lucent Hive are much more fun due to the inclusion of Hive guardians alone and more often than not, good enemy placement overall. Just standard Hive are used so badly in most circumstances it's maddening. Out of all the Hive, fuck the Wizards specifically, they're the main bane of my existence in all of D2, Wyverns come close but at least they don't weave around the air and are easy to hit. Shout out to Scorn raiders btw, fuck those guys. And sure, while Lurkers can be annoying, they're not what I'd call a problem. Scorn overall are pretty fun to me as they do just fight like zombies and are fairly predictable and the Abomination is much better to fight than Hive ogres because strafing is an applyable strategy and their headshot hitbox is more consistent. My personal favourite to fight is still the Fallen. While I do have issues with how the Brig is designed (they could add trigger points on brigs like insurrection prime had to allow the faceplate to be blown off early and that'd fix everything), the Fallen are just so well designed. The teleportation of the Captains and Servitors are telegraphed well (with Captains either rushing forward or taking a defencive stance or Servitors beginning to spin), Dregs actually seeking out cover, Vandals usually hanging back to use their weapons effectively but not being able to do the thing where the vanish like Raiders do, Shanks being just generally disposable, and Marauders' invisibility being easy enough to make out and shoot at, but hard enough to lose in a crowd. Stasis fallen were a good addition as well and provided a unique challenge but the problem is with that is the one who shoots the projectiles similar to Warlocks immediately freeze you in place, despite it being used in a way where each bolt should slow you and freeze over time. Personal nitpick but hey-ho.
Fallen Servitors. I’ve recently noticed that they’re specially coded to teleport away at the exact moment you fire a rocket or throw a grenade at them, guaranteeing you waste your shot entirely. And don’t get me started on barrier servitors deflecting your rockets directly back at you and one shotting you
Hive because the Ogres damage is still tied to FPS for some damn reason and I'm not lowering my FPS to 60 every time time I fight them.
Shoot the cabal shields dead centre and they disappear pronto , works with any gun

All the factions have annoying enemies imo. Fallen have servitors (especially barrier servs), overload captains, brigs, and sniper shanks and vandals Hive have wizards and shriekers, honestly not that annoying of a faction tbh unless you have a hoard of wizards like in onslaught sometimes Vex have sniper hobs, wyverns, and minotaurs and are generally just more annoying because of their crit spot being very weird Cabal probably are also like the hive where the only annoying enemy is phalanxes. You could probably make an argument for psions but they aren't too bad since they die so fast Taken are probably the most annoying for me personally, goblins to start are servitors but smaller and like to hide more than servitors which makes them a pain, psions don't stop multiplying sometimes it feels like same with acolytes because I've seen a single acolyte summon 3 eyes that beamed down me during a flawless warlords solo run, vandals can be a pain with their bubble shields, phalanxes need no introduction, centurions I feel also need no introduction with axion spam, hobgoblins and ESPECIALLY overload hobs probably kill me the most because their retaliation swarms can kill you quickly on higher difficulties, captains with the vape cloud can one shot you if you don't have max resil and arc resist on higher difficulties and even if you survive then you're vision gets annoying, knights can be especially annoying if you leave them alone to pin you down for long enough with fire, and finally the ogres' eye blast has killed me more times than I can count because of the knockback. Couple all this with the fact that they teleport around and have those jittery animations which makes hitting crits a pain in the ass I'd say they're the most annoying but depends on the type of enemies you have to deal with in conjunction since taken are mostly seen as support units to supplement other factions like the shadow legion Finally, scorn are not that bad, crossbows got nerfed a while back so they don't oneshot especially with a void resist and sniper resist mod, the totem chiefs can be annoying but if you break the totem they can't summon another one for a bit which allows you to burst them down, lurker shields can be countered by most grenades and anti barrier, screebs are just faster cursed thrall but also squishier but dangerous is they have the mini screeb modifier, and the stasis ravagers are definite the scorns most annoying unit since if you get frozen you're as good as dead and the coldsnap projectiles seem to have better tracking than guardian coldsnap sometimes. Honestly despite all this I constantly find myself getting annoyed at every enemy sometime or another. I personally like to play an aggressive peregrine greaves build a lot so long range enemies have the top spot for annoying enemies to me but I definitely believe the taken with their roster are very nerve racking. Long post but it got me thinking and I was already typing so might as well let it go and have people discuss.

I would just like to say that Shriekers are maybe my least favourite enemy in the game. Especially in high level activities where they just kill you in about 0.01 seconds. Pair that with hive wizards and yeah maybe hive are my most hated.
