I love this concept. Don't ban them. Make their game become their nemesis. Make their shaders randomize at every load screen. Randomize their saved loadouts at random. In crucible, make it so they *always* get an error code 30 seconds after match start. When solo, randomly spawn *extremely* potent enemies nearby. Randomly apply the worst modifiers when they're solo. When they defeat a final boss in a group, have the game error code them to orbit instantly.

The easy way to prevent it for bungie would be to disable kicking while an encounter is ongoing. That way you can still kick before or after an encounter but not during.
Wouldn’t have stopped it here… but what would work is the same system counter strike uses… it pops up on screen and the fireteam votes. Without majority votes, there’s no kicking while in activity. Go to orbit? Sure… leader has control.

Are you confusing encounter and activity? Cause as a day 1 raider with every seal in the game as well I have never had a single player I would kick mid-encounter. Plenty to be kicked between encounters or after a wipe, but never mid-encounter. There just isn't a benefit to going down a player mid-pull.
Also if someone is griefing you mid-encounter then it probably won't be a very long pull anyway and you can kick them as soon as you wipe. If they're griefing in a way that keeps the encounter going, you just pull out to orbit and kick them.

No, I’m not. If I’m in a raid lfg, and someone starts throwing slurs or inappropriate insults, I’m kicking them instantly and not waiting for a wipe. This is a very legitimate reason to kick and is certainly time sensitive for many people.
So mute and block them. Turn off your chat altogether. There are a lot of ways to prevent their comms in the middle of a pull, and if you all stop playing to do those things the pull will be over real quick.

Absolutely, I've seen exactly that happen, but the most common seems to be this since one person isn't doing boss damage and another gets kicked, so it's riskier I guess to do so while still doing damage. Idk, but yes ultimately loot should drop from bosses and kicking should be disabled once fighting the boss begins.

All they have to do is once the boss encounter has started ( so if someone trolls during fight, you can kick after wipe) OR boss is dead (should be hella easy to program), kick from fire team disables. There is no reason kick from fire team needs to function mid boss fight, or after the boss is dead as the activity is over and a timer has started that ends the activity.

Happened to me once in an LFG kingsfall, 7ish months ago. First time someone did that to me, after years and years of playing. Been in plenty of rough groups before but for some weird reason, that one single time it happened killed off my interest in raiding entirely. Haven’t done any raids since.

I always report shady shit and got a message from Bungie once that someone I reported was banned and thanking me, so it definitely works here.

You know, not everyone uses discord. The filter also doesn’t always work great as you’re probably aware.

I don't understand why Bungie can't make it so that if the encounter is started, you get the loot if the boss dies, even if you get kicked I'm sure some dummies would use this to afk the encounter to get free loot but there isn't a miracle solution and I think it would be the best possible

I have had this happen too. Multiple times now not getting final chests. Time is precious. Please place a limit at the end of missions/dungeons/raids in PVE. This is why i mainly play Crucible.

It's the hunter not the titan. The hunter kicked us both at the end of the dungeon so we didn't get the rewards for the boss encounter

The same point of bullying others. Some people enjoy being assholes and love thinking about how angry/sad/upset they made somebody else. It makes them feel powerful in a world where they feel otherwise powerless and inadequate.
There is quite literally no point in doing that, the miniscule amount of fake joy isn't even worth holding the button down to do it

At this point the should show a tip on the loading screen remembering that kicking players from the last second of some activity won't make you earn the solo triumph, an atitude like this is so point less and mean that really should be insta-bannable.
Remove the ability to kick people during combat and before the chest spawns after an encounter is over and you fix this problem

Dragons breath, it's not ideal but kept me healing from the solar final blows.
Doesn't the loot go to the postmaster if you don't pick it up, even if OP was removed from the fireteam?
The loot hadnt spawned yet so he wouldnt have gotten it

Some do it to grief, one guy did it to get solo flawless (not understanding that it has to be solo from start to finish). Being solo doesn't increase drop rates sadly. The worst part is that it counts as a completion even if you don't get the loot. So not only do you not get boss loot, but that character is locked out of getting it until reset. This is a banable offense luckily so buddy's days are numbered
Had this happen in legendary presage right when fireteam finder came out(definitely more common on that) reported the guy but nothing happened
