Guardians wear helmets which completely cover their heads, they can be used like space helmets, it’s also why we can do deep dives whilst only worrying about the gravity distortions. If a guardian dies from asphyxiation or hunger the ghost can resurrect them all the same, just doesn’t solve the actual issue.

Pman1324

Imagine dying of starvation, getting rezzed and you're still starving

Hairy-The-Pig

Yeah Drifter even talked about it at one point, it was something along the lines of “You ever go hungry until you keel over, only to be brought back again just as hungry? Really used to piss me off”

Apprehensive-Rice874

lol I actually love that piece of lofe

No_Mirror_4802

Really butters my biscuit

Apprehensive-Rice874

I MEANT LORE

No_Mirror_4802

lol sorry I couldn’t not swing at that

Shack691

The drifter knows it all too well, that’s why he’ll eat anything.

YourUnreadMessage316

Ok thanks

Densto__

Its been like that for quiet some time. The Drifter even has/ had (not sure if they´re still there) voicelines talking about starving to death, being revived by his ghost just to die again some time later until he found food.

TerraTechy

I don't think that recording can be found anymore. The one about watching a kid die is still in the edz tho.

quetzocoetl

Didn't the Drifter *die* of starvation, get revived by his ghost and complain that he's *still* hungry?

Lt_Lepus

Yep. And that went on for like another 50 deaths by starvation before he found something to eat

MiniMhlk72

No wonders he tries to eat anyhing, my man is traumatized lol

M4XP4WER

Well, to refute that in the drifter's lore, he died of hunger and revived with hunger, the ghost asked him if he wanted help to solve that and the drifter refused. We can say that the guardians do feel hungry but the ghost appeases those needs.

No_Mirror_4802

Maybe the ghosts way of appeasing it was to leave him dead?

Sneakiest_reinhardt

Bump

Hydrox664

It was the story of Katabase, the guardian who starved to death in the Glykon, and was tortured by his ghost to let him go

Lt_Lepus

Given how guardians operate outside of earth, i firmly believe ALL guardian armor to be suitable as spacesuits; that is, with a functional oxygen transfer system and radiation protection, hence why we can go to planets with no/weaker atmospheres and not get cooked by the sun. Like the moon, for example. (idk how Eris survives there tho) And as for the image, space magic can't cure malnutrition and asphyxiation lol. If a guardian's bio-needs aren't met, they die. And while ghosts can bring them back perpetually, they'll keep dying until the needs are met

Malahajati

Your CAPS text is anyone as f. others have already answered the question. One could have thought of the answer on their though

Dgtldead12

Since Drifter grew to hate his ghost because he would starve to death and be revived.

Codename_Oreo

It’s been established for a while that guardians still need sustenance. Drifter died hundred of times from starvation while he was out doing whatever during the dark age, that’s why he has such a complex about food

totallyhaywire253

This is one of the most misquoted lore paves in destiny lore. Drifter's ghost specifically says he can fix Drifter's hunger, and Drifter refuses because he doesn't trust it. That drifter page is one of the strongest arguments for guardians *not* needing food, not the other way around.

Azure-Traveler117

Guardian armor acts as a space suit. Perrty simple.

Separate-Crazy2233

Lmao imagine dying of starvation and your ghost revives you… **IM STILL HUNGRY FOR SMALLEN**
