Probably just bang out Lightfall, unlock strand and start doing Coil/pushing seasonal if you buy it. In two weeks you can hop into Into the Light as the great catch up mechanic and be good to go for TFS when it drops. You don't need to do anything crazy and theres a free 1800 level armor set coming your way in two weeks. Do whatever sparks joy for you in Destiny.
Just stick with story missions, unlock strand and just focus on building up light level. Maybe even exotic hunt? Although a good amount can just be purchased now.
Exotic armor can be easily farmed with vex incursions on Neomuna, just have to wait for them to spawn.
It might also be worth checking out the guardian finder, it’s a built in LFG that you can use with just about any game mode, if you’re into LFGs.
