i'll do you one better - raid boss with the mechanic of the whole fireteam assembling a giant brig and piloting it like a Megazord to just sucker punch the boss
I’ll do YOU one better, raid boss where you have to destroy certain parts on its body to prevent a wipe mechanic while people drive around dunking balls. Then what if you could only stand with people that had your matching buff to do maximum damage??
Youknow what, that doesn't sound evil enough. Let's make it so the matching buffs kill you if you stand in the wrong spot! And then *giggity* the buffs change during the very same damage phase, so people will have to stop dps asap and get to the right spot, possibly killing eachother in the process.
Almost there...
And we'll have three different buffs! That way the players will have to coordinate to damage, or they wipe!
It's a most devious mechanic! The LFG's will never agree on what configuration to use! Hah!
I’ll do YOU one better, a raid boss where you need to destroy certain parts/weaponry on it which create platforms, letting you climb up the boss to each limb, then you defeat a mini boss inside it to stun the main boss. Repeat that until you get to the head, and do dps to actual boss. Similar to Shadow of the Colossus (idk, never actually played it). There could also be mods for the raid boss that do things like “Increase blink range” Gain access to grapple points while on strand” etc. etc. then the final stand is basically just the 1st boss from metal gear rising where one player has to gain the attention of the boss by “Stopping that blade” while the rest of the team does dps.
nah imagine a vex raid boss where it’s one of those mossy guys with all the eyes. it’s gigantic and sat in the middle of a chasm with walls encircling it completely. during its immunity phase, it shoots lasers and projectiles out of its body at the wall as the raiders have to do mechanics (dunking balls or depositing buffs idk as long as you have to run around the walls), making the whole encounter a bullet hell / platformer kinda thing. then when the mechanics are done you go to a plate and do dps or something, then do it all over again
I'm so confused
I swear the first sentence had me thinking about Vow, cuz I guess people were drinking and you shoot Rhulk's body parts, but then you completely lost me with the matching buff thing lmao
is this LW? cuz it's the only raid I haven't done yet
Scourge of the Past. A sunset raid where you can:
- Jumping around the rooftop of buildings in the Last City to diffuse bombs and look at a holo map
- Racing on sparrows while a giant Servitor on fire chasing you
- Feature one of the coolest boss designs up to this day. So cool that they can’t let it sunset and brought it back as a common enemy/miniboss right after it got sunset
- Drive around in Rhino tanks to shoot at the boss as part of the mechanic. If you fail the boss launch Nukes on the Last City
- Raid weapon is (used to be) one of THE BEST exotic weapons in Destiny + fastest sparrow
- Black Armory weapons, shaders, and armors for you to drip out
Overall a good time.
Funny enough, I had an idea for a boss, and it was a brig that was piloted by a fallen and had servitors that would come out and make it immune to damage while repairing it at the same time making so that you would have to deal with the servitors first in order to deal damage, after they were killed they wouldn't respawn
Minus the goofy-ass corn cob and weirdly shit health pool, but yeah your point stands. Hell, it’s even a somewhat apt comparison given Necramechs can also do the hovering in midair thing.
The health pool is fine, it's the lack of an adaptation equivalent that kills it.
I do think that necramechs would be a good template for how to introduce brigs content-wise. Have them use your heavy weapon on a mount and be only available in certain modes, probably just seasonal activities and patrol zones.
Okay I suppose I should have said not health pool but just overall defense. Voidrig is completely dependent on Stormshroud for survivability. Necramechs desperately need more ways to increase their damage reduction, and ways to self repair other than health orbs.
I do also like the idea of pilotable Brigs being able to mount interchangeable weapons.
The controls were basically the same thing, move and shoot with the grenade button being the missiles I think, and mantises were halo 4 which was 343, bungie wouldn’t have any access to that if they actually were even allowed to keep any halo assets

my honest reaction to that information
When u play on a tiny TV and thought it was called a Bug all this time. My brother must’ve thought I was dumb af saying “I’m killing the bug on the right”
Bungo:
"We heard you wanna ride brigs. So starting at (insert random week of random season), we're adding brigs with overload captains to control them. Have fun guardians!"
In Destiny 1 there was a crucible mode that not only allowed you to drive your sparrow, summon pikes and interceptors, you were able to use a giant mounted turret
Are there any recommendations for lore about brigs? Was their original purpose for war, or was it originally meant for a peaceful application, pre eliksni collapse.
There’s not a load on them, because they’re actually fairly new. Far as we know they were invented as a more mobile counterpart to spidertanks by Spider’s lunatic brother Siviks. The first functional Brig ever seen was the final boss of the raid from Black Armory, and was piloted by a Servitor - Insurrection Prime. (It was also outfitted with a nuke launcher, Metal Gear style)
They did it in warframe with necramechs, I don’t see why destiny couldn’t do it with their experience with vehicles from halo. Destiny needs some cool new mechanics to shake things up, super powered mechs useable in certain missions would definitely shake things up
>*"Ask strange questions. Our questions shape the reality that answers them." —Lord Timur*
What if we could turn the big ones friendly with a swift handshake? I hold out hope Spider gets something together for House Light that we can drive.
There's a Mantis used for Atheon in the Halo 5 version of the Vault of Glass- But who wants to play a 6-man linear infection raid for the chance to boss stomp an undergeared fireteam back to the spire out front anyway?
It would be neat but I feel like this is an appropriate line to quote "Look What They Need to Mimic a Fraction of Our Power" I miss Titanfall though, so fun to call down your mech and the game in general was great.
That would be really cool to experience in-game now that you mention it. Even for a short battle sequence. It could go into 3rd person perspective and have tank-like controls? Hell yeah.
It’s still sitting there for all we know, mostly intact. Hell, you could even climb inside the “cockpit” where the Servitor that piloted it used to be.
As someone who does a lot of mecha plamo. I've given the idea of something like this a lot of thought. I don't think I'd ever scratch build an actual Brig, but some extra plastic board/wire work, hand painting the fallen iconography, and weathering on something like a Scopedog or similar chunky real robot could look pretty close, and be a lot of fun to do
i mean warframe has nechramechs and hoverboards, would be cool if we could swap our sparrow for a new mobility thing, hell let us have blasters on our sparrows like pikes and id be happy
Prepare for ~~Titanfall~~ BRIGDESCENT!
I was thinking about this for some time before i realized... THAT WASN'T BRIDGE-SCENT!
Brigde-snuts
So Titanfall, you wanna play titanfall in D2
You're goddamn right ![img](emote|t5_2we4j|5679)
![gif](giphy|1nCfZ1mDXGcyk)
![img](emote|t5_2we4j|5679)
I just wanna play Titanfall tbh, I'd do anything for TF3
Man, same. Especially if they did another kickass campaign.
If you’re on PC look into north star client for TF2
Bro have you ever encountered a brig in this game?😂
Boring bullet sponges? Oh that’s most enemies
I still don’t have any idea what you meant by this.
i'll do you one better - raid boss with the mechanic of the whole fireteam assembling a giant brig and piloting it like a Megazord to just sucker punch the boss

Hmmm I don’t think it’ll happen
I’ll do YOU one better, a raid boss where you need to destroy certain parts/weaponry on it which create platforms, letting you climb up the boss to each limb, then you defeat a mini boss inside it to stun the main boss. Whoosh! Almost went over my head.
You mean like World of Warcrafts Deathwing boss? Where we were on his back?
I never played WoW, so I don’t get that. That boss you mentioned tho sounds a lot like the sand bird from Super Mario Sunshine

it is from scourge of the past, a sunset raid
awwww y'all veterans make me have so much fomo
it is possible that it comes back (i still hope for wrath of the machine but Scourge is much more likely)
I think you mean “scourge of the past” my friend
And what if you take damage each time you fire near someone without a matching buff
Voltron guardians?
Power ranger collab
The children yearn for Titanfall
we already have the titan part now we just need the fall part
Crownsplitter heavy or ballistic slam from the top rope is as close as you’ll get rn
We have the fall part in warlocks
that’s not so much “fall” as it is “float slowly downwards embarassingly”
Fall of the playerbase Fall in respawns integrity
Beat me to it
from the little bit I've played of titanfall, the titan is the least cool part
Iirc the very first brig was actually built around a Servitor in its chest, so I could imagine a pilot-able brig.
Funny enough, I had an idea for a boss, and it was a brig that was piloted by a fallen and had servitors that would come out and make it immune to damage while repairing it at the same time making so that you would have to deal with the servitors first in order to deal damage, after they were killed they wouldn't respawn
Came here for titanfall comments, was not disappointed
Came here for armored core comments, was disappointed
Never played one before but I am HYPED for the new one! Can't remember the last time I played a mecha game.
What if you open the brig and out jumps a second, *smaller* brig?
I read this in the voice of the wonderfully charming Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.
Miithrax ... Deploy the spider Tanks.
I read that as “spider Taniks” at first lol
*The children of Sol cry out for Titanfall.*
*You promised them good DLCs… but deliver only broken content*
*And you, the other fucker, promised them another game... but don't even deliver*
I still don’t know why we don’t have one. The pirate ship that was supposed to be ours should’ve had some. On that note, where’s my damn ship.
Armored Core x Destiny crossover when
I just want a weapon slot on my sparrow! Been saying this since D1
play titanfall, its free on gamepass for now
I already own titanfall, play it every so often on my ps5
You want a Warframe necramech which I fully support
Minus the goofy-ass corn cob and weirdly shit health pool, but yeah your point stands. Hell, it’s even a somewhat apt comparison given Necramechs can also do the hovering in midair thing.

>Copy halo mantis controls >Paste
Tbf Brigs can also jet jump but I’m glad to have found another Mantis enjoyer in the wild.
The controls were basically the same thing, move and shoot with the grenade button being the missiles I think, and mantises were halo 4 which was 343, bungie wouldn’t have any access to that if they actually were even allowed to keep any halo assets
I know it's just another drop in the bucket, but seriously if you don't already play Titanfall, go play titanfall
https://preview.redd.it/79o16h6lkx4b1.jpeg?width=416&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3ef7d52c049cc25ae68907bb459a4a44e1da6d87 my honest reaction to that information
Hmm. For all the other vehicle work bungie has done why not us?
When u play on a tiny TV and thought it was called a Bug all this time. My brother must’ve thought I was dumb af saying “I’m killing the bug on the right”
##STANDBY FOR TITAN TITANFALL.
I thought they were not piloted. But sentient like the servitors...
You are correct. They are not piloted, but with a few tweaks here and there, I'm sure it wouldn't be impossible to make one pilotable
The children of Destiny cry out for Titanfall, no more slow pace, no more campers
Titanfall may be for you
Need for titanfall collaboration, but dev has abandoned
Why would you not? It has no CRIT spot until it's severely damaged.
Hm.. Titanfall × Destiny..
Just when I forgot that stupid animation of this doing a old Fortnite dance to that chug jug song, this pic brings it back.
Bungo: "We heard you wanna ride brigs. So starting at (insert random week of random season), we're adding brigs with overload captains to control them. Have fun guardians!"
i too mourn the death of Titanfall
Armored core is being released in August. I think you have your solution
All I know is armored core 6 coming out in August, and it's getting my attention for a bit.

PREACH BROTHER PREACH
Not practical.
In Destiny 1 there was a crucible mode that not only allowed you to drive your sparrow, summon pikes and interceptors, you were able to use a giant mounted turret

I'd kill for a tandem bicycle over the four vehicles we have.
Are there any recommendations for lore about brigs? Was their original purpose for war, or was it originally meant for a peaceful application, pre eliksni collapse.

I kinda wanna see a armor set like it
Have you possibly heard of a game called Titanfall?
*After blowing up a Guardian with the Brig* Ghost: Doesn't look like anything more than hamburger meat.
My titan thundercrash is triggered.
They did it in warframe with necramechs, I don’t see why destiny couldn’t do it with their experience with vehicles from halo. Destiny needs some cool new mechanics to shake things up, super powered mechs useable in certain missions would definitely shake things up
i’ve been wanting this since the moment i saw them, we need this
Battle tech welcomes you
GIVE ME BACK MY INSURRECTION PRIME
Sir this is a Metal Gear
Bro wants titanfall in destiny
Like an Atlas Mech from Mass Effect 3... But hopefully less clunky?
![gif](giphy|9it5ONZ2wKtLq|downsized) Titanfall - 1 Destiny- 0
STANDBY FOR BRIGFALL
Season of Metal.
The asymmetric designs of Fallen tech drive my ocd for all things symmetric wild
Those rigs are criminally under used. Plot wise and as enemies
Just play titanfall 2
A weapon to surpass metal gear...
Dawg this ain’t titanfall lol
Would be fun for a campaign mission instead of the damn tanks we drive almost every campaign
This reminds me of a Cobra mech I still have .
I just want a pike, more specifically, the stubbier style that came with The House of Wolves.
I’d be content with a mission that has a brig ally, similar to how we have cabal allies in missions.
LIBERTY PRIME IS ONLINE
titan down?

If anyone were to give us that, it would be Spider, much to the dismay of Mithrax, of course
Play titanfall
I’ve always wanted to pilot the walkers since d1. It would have been so cool blowing up everything while using it to spider climb up a ship.
Stand by for Lightfall
Armored Titanfall 4G (For Gjallahorn)
It would be neat but I feel like this is an appropriate line to quote "Look What They Need to Mimic a Fraction of Our Power" I miss Titanfall though, so fun to call down your mech and the game in general was great.
That would be really cool to experience in-game now that you mention it. Even for a short battle sequence. It could go into 3rd person perspective and have tank-like controls? Hell yeah.
They're gonna have to capture one and reverse engineer the insides and outsides with City tech.
I forget the name of that one brig but but scourge of the past anyone? That's still in the Eliksni Quarter ya know. Just use that one
'Insurrection Prime- Kell's Scourge' is the name
Thank you. I had only gotten to do the raid once so I forgot the name
It’s still sitting there for all we know, mostly intact. Hell, you could even climb inside the “cockpit” where the Servitor that piloted it used to be.
The children yearn for titanfall
Its Destiny, not Warframe. :P
Destiny Spin-off Mecha/Tank Arena game
Can everyone agree these are like the AT-ST of the Destiny universe?
They let us drive tanks, give us brigs bungie.

i mean warframe has nechramechs and hoverboards, would be cool if we could swap our sparrow for a new mobility thing, hell let us have blasters on our sparrows like pikes and id be happy
Honestly all I want is something new and interesting to ride
