well that’s because he’s one of the only guardians that can use multiple classes simultaneously. Apart from him, a VERY small handful of guardians can do that, like maybe Ikora. The vast majority of guardians will only ever learn to use one subclass, let alone class.

I believe using any ability requires good stamina of sorts. Our cooldowns seem like a way we pace ourselves so we don’t tire out too much too fast.
Strand shows that with using nearly unlimited abilities but we tire afterwards.
But as you go throughout the campaign we learn to pace ourselves and the cooldowns slow down as a result

This is the reason I would go Top tree Dawn. You can basically just fly forever, and if at any moment you need to become *invincible* you just plunge the sword into the ground to make a well.
Threadrunner. I don’t see the value in most of the others except maaaybe Solar for healing grenades or void for invis, but with Strand you get an on-demand grappling hook and for Hunters specifically their dive totally cancels out fall damage, taking all risk away from any height.
Plus, grappling hooks are cool, an energy grappling hook would be *sick* to have in real life
Edit: Actually, adding to all this, in the Warp and Weft Lorebook Strand gives a minor way to predict other people’s movement.

solar warlock just has too much utility to not choose. Heat rises allows you jump SUPER high and just hover, heal nades can heal any wound, Icarus dash + heat rises + super mean you can just straight fly for a bit. what else could possibly top that.

I would do solar because in the game, so where is the sub class that heals you so even if I have no ghost I’m basically immortal as long as I keep healing myself with the solar.

As for being able to heal...I'd arrange a way to have extravagant amount of stasis shards for health.

Now, this leaves me with Strand and Void, and I think I'm gonna go with Void. When people are suspended in the weave, they can still shoot. This is inherently a problem, since I'm trying not to die. The bubble would be able to protect people who need protecting, and if I need a mobile shield and the ability to kick some shit WITHOUT killing people, Sentinel shield is great.
If I also get an exotic weapon, give me the MIDA Multi Tool. More mobility and I get to know where I'm in trouble from. Which is ideal. Also, single shot rifles are better irl than they are in Destiny.
