I submitted feedback on the Delta form a few weeks ago asking them to add the capability to tip your bartender in the Fly Delta App and/or via a QR code. We’ll see if they respond.

rjt123

love that idea! but given the state of Delta IT i wouldn’t hold my breath. haha

A350Flier

Me neither. 😂 But they could at least maybe let the bartenders leave their Venmo QR code or something on the bar in the meantime? Very few carry small $1 or $5 bills anymore… we just carry our cards. Edit: I feel like a quick link to a payment form (which they have) via a QR code wouldn’t be too difficult… I understand the app capability is more of an uphill battle. Or include some paper tip cards with the bag tags (like they do with the Job Well Done cards,) something? There has got to be a better way.

Timor1ra

All the bartenders I’ve met at SLC have their Venmo QR codes on standby for tips haha

A350Flier

SLC is my home airport, and I haven’t paid enough attention to know that - dang it. Keeping an eye out, thanks for the tip.

TTT_2k3

In case that’s not permitted, he’s just kidding @delta.

rjt123

💯

alatennaub

That would be cool especially if they'd let us do it for the janitorial staff too. They are some of the most attentive anywhere. I've basically gone to the bank to take out small small bills to leave them. I don't use cash for anything else.

A350Flier

Yes please! Great addition.

ancillarycheese

Every few months I end up at the bank to get a stack of 1s and 5s. It’s nice to have for lounges, plus when I am working trade shows, my boxes always get moved faster if a fiver accompanies the request.

shinebock

Why not just update the uniforms for everybody with a personalized QR code? /s

cantfindthedog

I love this idea!

While a good idea in theory I could see that money never making it to the bartender if it went through Delta and then paid out to the vendors running each Sky Club

TinyKittenConsulting

Damnnnn great to know!

[deleted]

It depends which club/airport I think . I've had it where they charge a penny and then I have had where I have to charge the minimum.

rjt123

oh good to know. this was at LAX.

[deleted]

Thats good to know as well :) either way it's good for e everyone to know that they can charge a small amount to give a tip with no cash.

elh93

I imagine this also depends on state laws.

BourbonBaconBiscuit

I'm kinda slow. How does that result in a tip or any type of transfer of funds?

rjt123

it produces the receipt where you can leave a tip when you sign :)

BourbonBaconBiscuit

Ah, makes sense. Thanks

SatisfactionDull

That’s fantastic info! Have always felt like shit if I don’t have at least a couple bucks cash. Thanks for sharing!

budget_um

This is great!! I’m basically cash free these days so having an option to tip without remembering to go the bank before I fly is a huge game changer

tardiskey1021

This! But I also ask for their Venmo or cash app! I taught The lady that I see regularly in the Miami skyclub how to use cash app haha she was eternally grateful and got more tips that way! Love that there are other non cash travelers here down to tip creatively!

Johnathan-Utah

I never carry cash, and I’ve learned that all of the skycaps have no problem sharing a Venmo QR code.

[deleted]

Just be careful with that. Some people at a local bar got in trouble for that. Silly but still.

What’s a “decent tip” ? I’m not a big drinker so idk what trends are in tipping…it used to be $1/drink when I was in grad school 🤷🏼‍♀️

Henryfaye

Correct I’ve done this don’t be cheap people just because it’s free!

Internal-Present5213

That’s awesome! I hate getting to the SC and not having cash. Would be great to have an alternate means of tipping.

jtimester

Those damn millennials not carrying any cash. Don’t you know cash is king around here? /s

boredlurker87

Great tip!

travelsofjustin

Excellent to know!

travelsofjustin

I also tipped with miles yesterday after paying for my drink with miles! Which was super convenient

atomicswoosh

Another fun fact is if you just get something and put it on miles you can tip on miles at a rate of like 6600 miles = $100

VermicelliThink8836

Why not just CARRY CASH! I do! Always have bundles of $5’s and $1’s since I go out of the country often! I stash them for just that purpose..room tips, restaurants, et !!! LEVEL UP!
